If that is true and they are not going to support mods , atleast have the balls to tell us so that some of us can go find a service that suits our needs, as FPS has already figured out this mess and taken care of their customers in a timely fashion
I said at least not yet.
Oxide currently (supposedly) has an exploit that could allow users to access information and parts of the server that they should not be able to.
Granted, this shouldn't matter since there are other precautions that HFB can take to prevent this...
Mod support will come back eventually, I'm sure. But I can't say when.

This was fixed in Oxide several days ago.
This was fixed in Oxide several days ago.
Doesn't make much of a difference to me since I don't use/plan on using any mods.
And honestly it shouldn't matter. If the HFB servers were sandboxed like they should be then it wouldn't be an issue.
I still enjoy my HFB server... even though the company itself is very frustrating.
As far as I know, HFB will NOT be putting mods back in... at least not yet.
Maybe Rust++ will get another installer, but the makers of Oxide specifically asked them to remove the installer for their mod, so it will likely not be back.
Once the security stuff is taken care of I'm sure HFB will re-allow full FTP access so we can manually mod again.
EDIT: HFB currently allows FTP to the myserverdata folder. In-case that was unclear lol.
The server I purchased last night was with Nitrous-Networks - some mixed reviews but I don't mind trying them out.
If HFB aren't getting Oxide back then I have no reason to stay with HFB. I tested Oxide today and like it - so we'll be using that on the main server.
I also believe Multiplay sorted the problems out as there's a bunch of servers online running Oxide that are hosted by Multiplay (did a whois on their IPs).
To hell with them FPS it is !! :zoid:

There are only a select few servers with Multiplay that have Oxide. They are testing it on these servers to make sure it is working okay before the release it to everyone from my understanding.
They say in a weeks time all Multiplay servers should have it.

Hello , We are currently in talks with the Oxide developers regarding adding it back to our Mod manager. Also, we are currently adding mods, such as Rust++ to the mod manager, and expect to have them available to customers over the next few hours. We will issue an email to notify our customers when we have them added.

I sincerely hope that's true. They really need to add Rust Essentials to that too.
Where was that announcement made btw?

response to my ticket
If its true i think i'll stay with them.. Other then this mod exploit their service has been ok, have to see how and if they get this all set up.
What bothers me the most is the fact they capitalized every word in the message.
Just give them some time to fix whatever they're doing. I swear people get more and more impatient nowadays. Soon waiting more than 30 seconds will be absolutely unacceptable... :quagmire:
Horrible Fucking Bad servers.
it's like I said in another thread, some people seem to expect Enterprise level hosting for 20 dollars...
I have also emailed this this morning (Japan time)
and there response was

"I asked about Rust Essentials + Drop Party next"
Both of those are on our list to have added. Rust++ will be the first available. We hope to have most mods added.

We have both of those mods ready to add. We are just screening them for possible security exploits so we do not run in to this situation again. I do not have an exact ETA at this time.

$29 for 200 players. You get what you pay for definitely. I however, happen to enjoy the server I have through them so no complaints.
Everyone and their mom bitches and gripes about not having modding access, but at that... there is a leaked server file version out there. Just use it if you want to install mods and don't really care one way or the other about security leaks. Problem solved.
As for hosting: these others hosts charge 40-50 for 200 players and you still don't get FTP access and have to use a ticket system which can range from 5 minutes to 24+ hours. So honestly, again, you get what you pay for, and for the price I pay... I'm satisfied and happy. Modding will be added again when it's possible for them. Until then, I'll carry the burden of no mods and leave it the way it is. Gotta start somewhere, and for where it's started... it's doing fine.

Read their Terms of Service.
Do NOT run a chargeback. They can charge you up to $150 on top of whatever you owe (and late fees) if you do a chargeback without following their terms.
There is no way they can pull that $150 off considering Paypal's policy on any and all digital sales they have there 45 day resolution if you are not given what you are promised or has suddenly been stripped away of such digital item then you can infact get your money back I did the same when another server company did this on me for Natural selection 2 and they had the exact same generic "Do not charge back"
(I also Do not abide by US laws thank god so they really have not got anything there)
That is only pertinent if HFB did not live up to it's ToS, which you would understand better if you'd just read it.
If you want to risk another $150 bucks just to get your $20 back then go for it, I warned you.
rust++ back now at HFB and Rust Essentials Mod tyvm HFB
rust++ back now at HFB and Rust Essentials Mod tyvm HFB
Thanks for the update.

You can configure it under 'Configuration Files' in TCAdmin.
Yeah its running perfect and door share , yeah no more crazy doors lol Thanks to all involved getting it back up and running .
Yeah, rust++ has been there for a little while, but I'm waiting for DropParty before I take down my server to mod.
Now just to wait for drop party!
We just need Oxide now as we're switching over to that.
People seriously went from flaming HFB and wishing death upon them to all of a sudden, "Wow, nice job HFB, thanks for your hard work!"
My god.
Yea on HFB only FTP Access on Map and PLayers Files. Not more...what is that...I want Setup my own Drop Chance with DropParty. They making so fuking bullshiit now...
#1 what i learned: Dont Buy Server on HFB!!!
I canceled two of my servers with them today, too tired of waiting for response.
28 hours no ticket reply, 4th-5th day server is down, server I payed forward for.
Lets see how FPS is
Just a heads up. It seems that uninstalling one plugin doesn't actually uninstall it. I installed RUST++, uninstalled it, installed Rust Essentials and now both are running at the same time it seems as RUST++ keeps spamming in-game.

I have nothing against HFB, but I can tell you now, no judge will let them charge $150 for a chargeback. Please stop scaring people.

They will if you send them a file named fuckhfb.jpg.

Yup. HFB might try to collect it, they might threaten "further action" or demand payment, but send them a cease & desist letter and that's that. If they were to sue you, no judge would uphold the charge unless your chargeback was in bad faith (as in "I did order the server and it performed as advertised, but I didn't like the color of their website so I filed a chargeback"). Furthermore, if they were to try to stick it on your credit report, you'd have a very actionable situation.
