Did the hackers make this account too?
If you'd scrolled down a couple more lines you'd see that this account has not been active since 2009...

Did not see that xD
Guarantee that your "friend" somehow got a hold of your password via key logger or watching you type it in. He then probably went home and had fun using as many different hacks as possible without a care in the world.
Uh...what? This...isn't...your Facepunch account? Whose FP account is it that you're posting with?
If his account truly was haxxored, and that's being generous then it still doesn't matter. Steam won't unban it. It says right in their FAQs that your account is your responsibility. If someone "hacks" your account and gets you VAC banned, you're still VAC banned.
In a ridiculously small percentage of cases. I believe there's a site somewhere that tracks those statistics and it's a minute fraction of a single percent.
Regardless, in this case even if OP claims his account was hijacked, the ban still won't be lifted.
I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt, that he was dumb enough to install a trojan, probably in the form of some promised game cheat. That's as far as I would go though. Otherwise, the whole story about his steam account being hijacked despite having steamguard enabled just falls to pieces.
That said, given the nature of VAC and it's tendency for time delayed VAC bans, I kind of doubt he was VAC banned from multiple games all in the timespan of a few days.
Yeah but i'm not VAC banned i'm FacePunch banned or whatever they call it
Yeah but i'm not VAC banned i'm FacePunch banned or whatever they call it
Cheatpunch.
Yeah but i'm not VAC banned i'm FacePunch banned or whatever they call it
Well, it would have helped if you told us that at the beginning D:
Contact facepunch with all the details I told you to contact steam with.
Yeah but i'm not VAC banned i'm FacePunch banned or whatever they call it
Your luck is with Garry and you're going to have to prove to him your innocence then, that's gonna' be a little tough.
Your luck is with Garry and you're going to have to prove to him your innocence then, that's gonna' be a little tough.
If he has to go to Garry, well I think him being bought a new account by valve is more likely than him getting unbanned by Garry...
Garry must get so many messages, I often wonder if he has ever read one of my own posts. *hint garry, respond to this post :P*
So, even though someone further up in the thread provided proof that Valve is willing to work with people that are mistakenly banned, you still insist that they don't do that?
That "proof" was concerning an actual false detection, which has been mentioned before is extremely rare. That doesn't have anything to do with a hijacked Steam account, as OP claimed his was.
Here are Steam's policies on "Someone hijacked my account and got me banned.":

"Steam Support cannot remove the ban on your account
Regardless of who was using your account at the time it was banned, the use and security of your Steam account is your responsibility."

You're replying to me and I was directly quoting/replying to Matt1337 who claimed he was VAC banned on his Steam account because someone hijacked it. Now, you're saying you were not VAC banned but Cheatpunch banned. How many Facepunch accounts do you have exactly?

That was in regards to people claiming that their brother/uncle/cousin was using their account and you know it. Valve, like any other company, does not deal in absolutes. If they did then they wouldn't bother to investigate bans to see if they're legit in the first place, they'd just respond with "Nope, you're banned, tough shit."
/Story (dunno wtf this means...but I'm a grown-up so I guess that's why.)
They already know, they retrieved my account but i still can't play rust
Can you please post the email you received from steam confirming your account was hacked and has now been restored.
I would like to see if there is anything in it that may help you.
It would also prove to these guys that you were actually hacked as it does happen even with steam guard.
With out the evidence these guy will continue to hassle this thread (and they have the right to do so without the evidence)
You're a retard
you can log out of anything, btw, just delete your cookies :)

Thanks, probably the only useful reply...
You won't get many useful replies here, people too busy stroking Steam's cock.

That doesn't just apply to situations where someone claims their brother was using their account. That very much applies to situations where someone claims their account was hijacked. Furthermore, it still applies to situation where support verifies that your account actually was hijacked. They will help you get control of your account back...they still will not remove the VAC bans though. You can argue the point with me all you want but...you can't argue it with Steam support. Those are their policies which you don't seem to be entirely aware of. If you don't believe me you can google countless tales where users claimed they were hijacked, it was even verified they were and VAC bans still were not lifted.
Now, matt1337 claims he got multiple VAC bans and this happened in the span of a few days which also makes me doubt the veracity of his story due to the time delayed manner in which VAC bans commonly work.
If this happens to you the response you get from support basically will be "tough shit" in so many words. You can argue with me...but it won't work with Steam.

Again, if you read above and familiarize yourself with Steam's policies...it doesn't matter whether or not support confirmed that his account was hijacked. If he has talked with support about this issue already then he would already know because he would have been told the exact same thing already.
You won't get many useful replies here, people too busy stroking Steam's cock.
If matt1337 is looking for a useful reply, this is as useful as he is going to get. If he is looking for sympathy or empathy that's great but it won't solve his problem.
The way I see it with how many times his story has flipped he is trying to lie, but CheatPunch/VAC bans don't.
Either you hacked and are trying to cry your way out of it, or your friend did - either way it's your fault considering the amount of security that is on a steam account if properly managed (Not downloading keyloggers, watching emails for steam warning emails). Fact of the matter is, your post was made by an account that is registered with a hacking/botting website..and your evidence or "proof" that it was some guy having fun with your account is zero.
But this is just me ranting, this isn't the place for these threads, if it was a false-positive then post on the cheatpunch thread made by Garry, other than that your shit out of luck.

"Hello Matt,
Thank you for contacting Steam Support.
We apologize for the delay.
It appears as though the account may have been hijacked by another user."

I can assure you i haven't used any hacks, my steam account got hacked and they played my games.
'hacked"
Mostly just end up by you giving your password to someone, or using the same password on a website.
"hacked" is such a common used word these days whilst it should be "stupidness"
Some of you guys are real shit heads. I was banned from modern warfare 2 back in the day because i got my account hacked, yes literally hacked a keylog of some kind and then they unbanned me because it was not my fault.
Not caring about security was your own fault.
If you think the regular Joe isn't vulnerable then you're ignorant.
