the question is: all this features are possible with unity engine?

I don't see why it wouldn't be, though some official word from the devs would be really nice.
I just saw on trello that garry wants to use the real "unisky" instead of what they are using now.Unisky seems to be a thing like that from what i saw on videos.

Unisky only has weather (wind,rain)
So I dont think we'll see seasons (at least not anytime soon)

Weather fulfills at least one of my suggestions, so that is certainly something.

This engine should be capable of all of these things. If the game can have a day/night cycle. Why not the cycling of seasons? It's all scripts and stuff after all.

I have not used unity, but from what I understand, it is an EXTREMELY flexible engine, with enough time, it is likely capable of quite a lot, this shouldn't be too much, especially if some community members were to join in on the effort. In fact, I really think the devs should encourage community scripts and whatnot, to further the game along in development, personally.

That is true! A community that cares for the development of this game should be able to submit their own scripts and resources to further the development. It shouldn't be too difficult for Facepunch to work with. They can just accept and reject what is submitted and give credit to the community members whose resources were used in the game.

I would so be all over that, I would learn the programming and everything, I would absolutely love to contribute to rust, just imagine what the community can come up with for this. They all have excellent ideas, but due to time constraints, the devs cannot accommodate everything. If the community then put it into practice and created stuff to submit to some sort of drop box for consideration, it would really speed up the process as well as get things in the devs would have otherwise not considered or thought of! In fact, if I remember correctly, the Black Mesa Source team had a community drop box where people submitted stuff and it made it into the game (and for the record, BM:S was amazing and really did Half-Life justice!)
this suggestion is just perfect for this game. i love all the ideas. now we just need to see if garry can work on these :D

Thanks for your input  I am hoping that Garry will eventually come across this and give his thoughts on it.

If Garry hasn't seen these suggestions yet, I bet he will soon.

I would PM him asking about it, but I don't want to bother him and I'm sure he gets thousands of messages a day already.
What other games do you know with full seasons implementation? Not saying they don't exist, but I personally don't know any. I think this is way to complex and Rust needs hundreds of other little things before something like this can happen (if ever).
OTOH, simple weather patterns would like sunny, cloudy, heavy rain, thunderstorms, reduced visibility via fog etc. is not that hard to achieve and would be awesome.
BTW, I agree about berries/mushrooms, would add to survivability aspect (remove chocolate and other manufactured food completely).

Something like this would be nice? :)

Holy shit, that video is beautiful, and exactly what I had in mind when I came up with this!
Only problem is that it's not really transitional, he just created 3 different scenes and blended in using video tools. Achieving something like this with scripting only probably is not a simple task.
Dont see weather on the trello. Maybe it is a secret update :quagmire:

Facepunch has a small team of developers and this was one guy, I imagine they wouldn't have too much trouble with something like this.
Jonnymad you continue to bring good feedback and ideas, I just wish the whole community could do the same as you, instead of posting their crap rented servers and key beggars.

I try my best to be an asset to the community and not an ass, guess I am doing something right, appreciate it
this is a great idea and I would love to see it in game.

I am so proud of you. I am gonna go and cry for a bit.

Lol nothing to be proud of, I did get a day ban for shitposting a while back (I totally deserved it) and got a three-day for quoting a shock image (I still don't know what I was thinking)
This idea is one I have wanted implemented in a game for a long time, I used to spend my hours playing Bully on PS2 and absolutely loved the seasons changing but no game since then besides Assassins' Creed mediocre system has done this. But this idea would be so much better in a hardcore survival game, I just thought of a good example and that is Don't Starve, on that you fear Winters harsh conditions.

Bully was an amazing game, definitely on my top 20 list, though that list is pretty well populated by Rockstar Games, they know how to make good games. Anyways, I have always wanted to see a game with a dynamic weather system that changes with the seasons, I don't think there really is a single game out there that has that (I could be wrong though.)
That would be kinda cool, actually. Either that, or maybe you can find already dead animals on the ground to skin (We'll just say that they didn't make it or something) Either way, there is always a workaround to an issue like this. I do really like the idea of that though, but the crate should be a different color, to indicate that they are more "starter" supplies, so players already set don't need to bother chasing it down.
yeah, like how airdrops are green, these can be red and dropped by a bright colored bi-plane or something instead of a AC-130.
Also, what could always be done is dead bodies, on the ground, randomly spawned, which contain items needed to survive for that season, if a second planedrop is too risky/inconvenient. like in the summer, there could be bodies with cloth clothes that have water and stuff, winter has winter coat and sweat pants with food and everything.
Also, I came up with a system:
1 month = in game year
a week = in game season
a day = in game month
an hour = in game day
FEBRUARY-ISH EVERY MONTH!
Opens ability to add the idea which they are in another planet, which opens for exotic moons/planets for scenery in sky, and other crazy and whacky events/scenery.
extra days in the month can be "cycle" periods. You know, from fall to spring, rainfall goes on/off and birds are seen more and more, in the summer to winter it'll rain some here and there, then start snowing, animal quantity will reduce instead of just going from 100 to 10, Spring to summer it doesn't rain anymore, and the weather slowly increases to summer conditions, etc.

Not bad, though it would need to be modified a bit. The whole "other planet" thing seems kinda out there, too, kinda out of place.

Other then the other planet thing, what would need to be modified?
Other then the other planet thing, what would need to be modified?
Animal spawns, 100 at max to 10 in winter is really quite low, unless you are talking about density, in which that should probably be fine. The whole finding dead body thing is not that good of an idea, though some warm clothes or things buried in the snow that can be uncovered might be kinda useful. Time passage comes out really nicely, well done there, by the way
I would love to see all these ideas in game one day, and a word to the wise, those of you who quote giant walls of text and don't snip it... just don't.
