Funny enough, I live in a state that still allows hanging as a means of capital punishment.

You're comparing the death sentence to getting VAC banned.
Just think about it for a moment.
Why? I don't see your reasoning behind this. For instance, If you get kicked out of a bar for being too drunk, you should never be allowed to go into any bar ever again? On top of that, you are never allowed to drink again?
Doesn't make any sense.
If you spew everywhere and get kicked out of a bar then you should not be allowed into invite-only parties and exclusive bars (analogous to betas/alphas) where it's just too easy to spoil everyone's fun.
Betas/alphas are prone to hackers, always have been. That's why only people with clean records should be allowed in. Game goes out of testing phase THEN people with 'dirtier' records are allowed in.

You didnt read all my posts did you? Read up... You guys a little touche? :o
I don't think any of you know how VAC works at all.
VAC is a blacklist for the most part, but will also ban you if you use some really shitty hacks your code yourself. VAC isnt that stupid.
VAC is completely, 100%, automated. You CANNOT be VAC'd manually, and there has only been ONE CASE EVER of that happening. It was during the TF2 golden wrenches problem when someone predicted when the next drop would happen, and crafted it on time.
VAC has had mis-bans before, the mw2 false .dll (this was long ago, and ALL bans by that reason were uplifted). There has been 1-2 small cases of vac banning people because a virus injected into hl2.exe, but those were, also, uplifted and fixed.
VAC will, and CANNOT ban for server-side. "I was banned for hacked mw2 lobby!!!" isn't possible. This is server-sided. if you were the HOSTER then yes, it could've got you banned.
PS. Produno. Highly suggest you stop trolling before you get banned
Its repulsive? Yet you as an American still have capital punishment in 37 states? The point is its un doable. The same as it should be on steam for cheating.
Im not saying its a catch all situation but capital punishment is only used for the worst of crimes, hence the example.
Its also quite ironic the ones complaining about my so called vulgar example are all Americans who seemingly condone the notion..
Seriously? Americans are vulgar now? I don't know what it is with you brits these days.
Like really, how did you even bring nationalism into this thread
I know of at least 1 other case of somebody being VAC banned manually.
A guy I know was hacking in the closed alpha test of Global Offensive and was banned personally by Chet Faliszek. His account was initially outright suspended with all his games on it, but through email correspondence it was made a manual vac ban on all Valve games instead.
But yeah, he was caught in the act by somebody on the development team.
In the vast majority of cases (probably 99.99%) of all bans are automatic, and they don't respond to reports.

Can I have a link to a source about this?
op's probably not getting aimbotted at all, he's just huttburt that he's terrible and keeps dying.

So everyone posts how young dumb and stupid i am (including yourself before you edited your post) for referencing capital punishment yet im the one trolling?
Maybe agree you dont understand the point i was making and stop flaming?
@bfg
Please read my posts properly before posting accusations.
Btw, my point is still valid. If someone cheats dont beat about the bush, just perma-ban them. Otherwise wheres the incentive not to cheat?
Listen guys all he's saying is that if you cheat in a video game, you should know that you're risking your rights to play online in other video games.
And that's why the state should kill people.

:O dont post that! Yourl get flamed for being young dumb and a sicko. Though your not a Brit so i guess yourl be alreet heheh :).
You people have gotten completely off topic. Arguing over who did what and who knows more about VAC. The OP's dilemna was answered, they get banned in waves and they shouldn't get screwed from all games just cause they cheated before. People who aren't dumb can learn from their mistakes. :D
I am almost certain that the game is not VAC secured “YET” due to the fact that the game is 64bit only and VAC only supports 32bit. VAC should actually do something productive and fix their shit . The amount of stupidity produced by the VAC dev team is borderline retarded. VAC has been dishonest in the past TOS they have produced. They where banning people without proof in MW3, MW2 and many other based on other players reporting them. Which is not proof enough to kick someone from a game. VAC hasn't made any announcements on anything really. VAC's intermittent game memory scan is flawed a smart "Hacker" could easily avoid being caught. I think they need to actually step up a system that gets less false positives and set up something that actually works like punkbuster has. Where server admin have tools to demo players and pull screen shots and so on. Valve Anti Cheat is joke at this given time hopefully in the future they actually pull their heads out of each others asses and gets something actually working.

VALVE Anti Cheat is created by Valve Software, they guys that brought you Half-Life, Steam, and GabeN. I am pretty sure they have their shit together quite well.

I was referring to VAC side of things. They ban on assumption a lot of the time. there is proof of this. Like most of they games they secure if you accidently join a hacked lobby boom you're banned. Really now is that justifiable? No its not you have no control over what others do. Or being reported in ever FPS you play cause you're better than most of the pub's and being banned.
Punkbuster (PB) is better than Valve Anti-Cheat (VAC)? It's pretty simple. Punkbuster not only actively collects data on prior and current hacks. But they do active Mass Banning. Secondly, they are supported by 3rd Party communities like -ACI- Bans & PBBans.com. Giving them more strenght. These 3rd party communities also share their Knowledge Base & tools with Server Owners to help them protect their servers. When Utlitizing the Master Ban Index & Unofficial Master ban Index from PB in combination with the Master Ban Index & Unofficial Master Ban Index of both -ACI- Bans & PBBans.com; Server Owners gain the best protection possible from known hackers.
Also, let me throw up an example of what VAC did to a few friends on mine in MW2/MW3. Mind you I know them personally and have even played on their computers before and watched them play when our Pro team still existed. We where at a Lan center for our Yearly Meet n Frag. These friends of mine who have never cheated in their life were banned by VAC because they had simply joined a hacked lobby and then disconnect. Joining a Hacked Lobby does modify your game files even though you didn't do it intentionally. Well VAC did a MASS ban for MW2 & MW3. Players who had joined a hacked lobby were included in this ban and VAC didn't care. VAC will not remove your ban as they have a "Zero Tolerance" policy. Also, VAC didn't even really catch all of the players who were creating the "Hacked" lobbys. Because they were using a Dedi/Mod tool from the Mods list on Steam that ran completely separate from the game.
Punkbuster on the other hand has had a few bumps. But Unlike VAC; when they identify something as a False Positive they remove the ban. And for those numbskulls who say PB kicked me for some dumb reason. It's not dumb. It's usually very simple to fix. So instead they whine and complain that PB sucks. So when a player gets kicked from a server using PB they are given a reason. That Reason is the issue that needs to be fixed. Sometimes its the simple fix of running the pb.exe to manually update PB and the PB on the games you play. Or maybe your config file doesn't match the pure settings that the server is using. And if you are triggering an MD5tool kick well then you better not be lazy and really look into that one. Because an MD5tool is a bannable offense by PB.
Overall, this is why I have invested a decent amount of money into my PC. I always am recording all of my gameplay. Because people on the internet will say that you cheat before they admit that you are better than them.
By the way. Because I record all of my Gameplay. I have turned over a PBBans.com ban. I asked them which Server, time, day, month. and provided them the exact video that matched the server report.
for when the ban occured.
Oh and in recording all gameplay like many others i have never seen VAC overturn a ban.

Jesus, did you not even fucking read the thread?
PLAYERS CANNOT BE BANNED FROM CALL OF DUTY BY JOINING A MODDED LOBBY, ONLY IF THEY ARE HOSTING IT THEMSELVES. IT IS ALL SERVERSIDED.
VAC does not ban on "assumption", what does that even mean?
Also punkbuster is god awful, sorry.
You are wrong on not being banned in a modded lobby. Explain why PB is god awful? It is so much easier to get around VAC hokey system than pbs.
It is so much easier to get around VAC hokey system than pbs.
Do you know this from experience?
You are wrong on not being banned in a modded lobby.
Nope, it's impossible.
Do you need me to explain what server-sided/client-sided is?

PB kicks for things like the Steam overlay, yet it doesn't actually do a good job in banning people who actually use hacks. I can't even count how many times I saw people hacking in the punkbuster server. It's an archaic anti-cheat that should be abandoned for something like VAC.

Again you are wrong.
Glitching (1002) - Any player demonstrating 'game abuse' in the form of organizing cooperative or single game play for the purpose of gaining experience, prestige, score, weapon levels, icons, titles or other related in-game unlocks. Examples: Exploiting map holes, clan tag glitching, and participating:words: in modded lobbies.

Uh, okay...?
I have no idea what you even posted rofl.
How do you have no idea? That makes perfect sense what he just said lol.
That is directly from Activision's website.
Do you know this from experience?
No, but you could easily use a redirect to force a scan on a set of clean game files on another drive locking access to the modded files you are actually playing off of which does work. Oh and if they are in fact scanning an entire computer for hot files such as aimbot.exe you could simply change that to MSW.exe. You could run "NEW NAME HERE".exe which would execute or inject to the locked directory with dirty files if correctly modded all the while they continue to scan clean files. There is always a way around.

Yeah, I know right? You could also just use a gui using visual basic to track the ip address!!

Ya I also never said how to do it I just said that it could be done. Visual basic LMFAO nice CSI reference. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hkDD03yeLnU

A GUI interface using Visual Basic to track an IP Address
why is this?
You don't really need a GUI Interface to track an IP Address, but that's what the General Oppinion suggests. This application meets those demands nicely.
does it really do this?
Yes. This is a GUI application created using Visual Basic, that uses the PING command to track the killer's entered IP/domain name. Very advanced techniques are used to ensure the best possible experience, like showing hex output, flashy images, and success/failure counters.
runtime requirements
.Net Framework 2, you most likely have this already, ready to go!
click Downloads to get the win32 binary executable
or if you want to compile the code yourself:
compiling requirements
Visual Basic for Visual Studio 2005 or above. It should upgrade and compile fine in 2008 or 2010 too
The Source Code section has the latest files, happy compiling!
Here we prepare the killers IP address
