It is happening to me too but its stuck on waiting for character
It is happening to me too but its stuck on waiting for character
I keep getting stuck on loading gui or loading trees...
I open rust and click run then it comes up with a grey screen saying "fetching load list" It has been like that for 30 minutes and still not changed I have tried verifying the game and still nothing.
Wait so this thread just for bugs with the OSX Client? Because if it ISN'T then I really need your help Garry. Also I see others posting bugs but is it just for OSX client?
Is the window mode not displaying properly a bug in general or just OSX? I find that when clicking anything i have to be a little below the button for it to register it (only in windowed mode). For example to click a server and join i would have to click the server under it. Also just playing in fullscreen mode and it became unresponsive. I had just hit a zombie when it happen, could still hear the sounds but could not move. Was forced to restart steam to play again.
My experience is with the OSX freezing at "loading GUI".
No we have people working on making it more severe. Was this the wrong thing to do?
I open rust and click run then it comes up with a grey screen saying "fetching load list" It has been like that for 30 minutes and still not changed
I am getting the same error as Tough Kuno..... "fetching load list". OSX 10.7.5 with latest Steam client.

Cool, thanks tough kuno, just loading the dev branch now to test.

PLEASE help me someone! (And also I already sent Garry a letter with computer stats on it)

How on earth could you think that this relates to anything else? There is a place for other bug reports but it isn't here. Once you've reported a bug all you can do is wait, the game is in alpha, and you have to be prepared for some downtime.
Cool, thanks tough kuno, just loading the dev branch now to test.
Can you get into a game yet
Thanks Garry :) Cheers
OK, my first post and I really want to play Rust on my MAC and help Gary out with this challenge. Let me explain what happens when I start the game: I followed the instructions in the first post and now the game actually wants to load :-P. Before it just stated it couldnt start up because there where files missing. It starts and I see the main menu. I can change the video configuration so this is good news. I changed it into UBER low because that way I can be sure the game doesnt choke my videocard/mac. I can choose servers and It connects to a server. It loads everything untill it says Waiting for character. I can hear birds chirping but it stays at the loading screen with the message: Waiting for character. Rust begins to choke and hangs and I have to force stop it, so I get the control back over my mac. these are my specs and im running on Snow leopard (sorry its in dutch but I think you'll understand the specs) Processornaam: Intel Core i5 Processorsnelheid: 2,4 GHz Aantal processors: 1 Totaal aantal cores: 2 L2-cache (per core): 256 KB L3-cache: 3 MB Geheugen: 4 GB (memory) Interconnectsnelheid processor: 4.8 GT/s Chipsetmodel: NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M Type: GPU Bus: PCIe Breedte PCIe-baan: x16 VRAM (totaal): 256 MB Fabrikant: NVIDIA (0x10de) Apparaatcode: 0x0a29 Revisiecode: 0x00a2 ROM-revisie: 3560 gMux-versie: 1.9.21 Beeldschermen: Kleuren-LCD: Resolutie: 1680 x 1050 Pixeldiepte: 32-bits kleur (ARGB8888) Hoofdbeeldscherm: Ja Synchrone weergave: Uit Online: Ja Ingebouwd: Ja
If I bring up the "Options" menu I cannot close it when I click "ok." Also it seems to crash for me on "Waiting for character" whenever I try to join a server. So far those are the only bugs I have noticed.

So I'm guessing a Linux client is coming soon then?

Still not loading past waiting for character. [editline]2nd November 2013[/editline]
same...
Change to dev mode. To do that right click rust. in steam go to properties and then to betas and then to dev mode and hit close and there you go [editline]2nd November 2013[/editline] Just got into server for once then froze
^^^ Getting that same problem. I am not able to get past the waiting for character. :/
Ya, waiting for character is stuck. Fixx
After turning to dev mode it finally got me past fetching load list but then when I'm loading a server up it freezes at loading GUI
Hey , i got mine to work but with terrible fps ( i didnt turn on fraps so i couldnt acctualy see ) but it was unplayable i fiddled around turning the graphics to fastest everything on low anti on off etc... I even tried using the 'set launch option' commands and i turned grass off and it still was unplayable ! I dont understand because can play league of legends , starcraft II , minecraft , and even some games what are not compatible using wineskin and get playable fps on very high graphics . here are my specs : Processor 2.53 GHz Intel Core i5 Memory 8 GB 1067 MHz DDR3 Graphics NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M 512 MB Software OS X 10.8.5 MacBook Pro 17' 2010 Thanks for releasing it for os x garry ! And hopefully make this playable for me again ! :)
Thanks Garry for all the work you have done on the osx version of rust. Im still having some random freeze issues though. I can connect to a server fine and what time i can play is actually smooth. Its just the random freezes that stops me from playing. I have been trying to work out if it happens at any particular time but it seems to change all the time. For example today it freezes whenever i open a crate. Yesterday i managed to play fine until i went to attack a zombie which then froze. Thanks again garry, hope this is somewhat helpful.
I cant see trees
