I cant see trees
LoL I didn't even know there were tree's because I cant see them so its us mac users but its better you can see enemies clearer
The game seems to work, but I'm stuck on the "Waiting for character" step when loading. Dunno if I'm the only one to have this problem, the app stops responding after that.

Sucks I don't even have the game Rust.. Got the Money, No Person to buy it , LOL...
You go to options on main menu and turn graphics all the way down then it should load
The guy did this and it didn't work.
I tried it again after the last update and it still hangs on waiting for character... I also turned the graphics way down...
Even when it does load up it is incredibly laggy
Have you tried the developer branch?
Have you tried the developer branch?
Yes, everything but nothing works
Thanks Garry for all the work you have done on the osx version of rust. Im still having some random freeze issues though. I can connect to a server fine and what time i can play is actually smooth. Its just the random freezes that stops me from playing. I have been trying to work out if it happens at any particular time but it seems to change all the time. For example today it freezes whenever i open a crate. Yesterday i managed to play fine until i went to attack a zombie which then froze. Thanks again garry, hope this is somewhat helpful.
I have the same problem random freezes with no cause. It runs smooth next to that. With The Dev branch mode of the game it gets stuck whilst loading the GUI on my mac. Running without a beta program works fine!

Uhm just a quick question Garry , are these random 30.9MB , 34.5Mb etc..etc.. updates for Mac? All my other friends don't have these updates so i was wondering if you were just doing these for Mac Os x
Ok, everyone who is still having problems with Mac, read this As of the latest update, you can turn Developer Mode OFF, I hae done this and it works fine. Next step is to load up the game, and when you get to the menu screen, click on Options, then click on the Graphics tab. turn the Awesome level to the bottom, then apply and try joining a server. if this doesn't work, make sure your graphics in the options menu when you start Rust are set to simple, AND when you get into a server, open the console (option+f1, or just f1) and type this command in - grass.on false That will turn grass off and make everything smoother, If you still have problems, I don't really know how to fix them, I run smoothly on my school MacBook Pro without dropping frames. Hope this helps! BTW Garry did you add chickens and squirrels... or are they rabbits? A guy was raiding my base then the server I was playing on closed and reopened, got on before the raider, killed him and grabbed all my stuff, and ran, so thanks if you did :P
I tried starting the game with and without de dev mod on... both keep me haninging on waiting for server. I can hear the birds but I dont see anything other than waiting for server. my rainbow_wheel keeps on turning but the game doesnt respond.
I can't see my arms in OSX version... and all the texture are moving with me, even the grass... I don't see tree too Worst i i can't use weapons or anything
Try the dev branch
Mac version isn't working very well at the moment. No trees or anything, very sketchy FPS compared to webplayer and frequent crashes and mouse latency. This is devbranch. Pretty much unplayable.
I tested yesterday the Dev branch again. It worked!!!!! I loads and I can play the game at last! I tried today and When I try to connect to a server, it just slings me back to the main screen... verry frustrating. The NON-dev version wants to connect but again freezes when it shows waiting on character.
Testing the dev branch on my 2009 macbook pro, the buttons on the main menu are off; you click them lower than they appear. It goes to connecting to server and then goes back to server menu.
Hi there. A couple of osx observations. DevLiveBranch - OSX 10.8.5 Apple MacBookPro Retina 2.6 Mhz i7 16gb 1600 ddr3 Inter Hd Graphics 4000 510 MB + Nvidia Geforce GT 650M 1024 MB UPD: 15Nov-10:14AM After i couple of attempts of trying to get on servers (not updated) i got into one. Grass looked great and worked good. No off-set or flicker Trees has grown and are now visible. Looks great! :) But as soon as i equipped the rock in my inventory it crashed. UPD: 15Nov-11:39AM I only got all the way into the game once where i could only see the GUI on a black background When I'm trying to test out new updates i have doubts about which server to use regarding which one of them has updated. Is there a server that is always up-to date to be able to test on… or how do i best test new releases? Regarding the offset of the buttons I've noticed a work around by opening in windowed mode or changing resolution. It seems like some window top-bar is pushing all the hit areas down a bit.
Whenever I get into a server it completely freezes whenever I try to take out an item such as the torch or rock. Anyone else getting this? Hope it gets fixed

Livedev UPD: 17.nov12:40 The game freezes on the "loading shared" step when i try to enter a server. I start the game in windowed mode. resolution 1280x800 set with the lovest in-game graphics settings. I read that there should be a ram issue resulting in crash on connect but i have 12GB ram free and Rust using 1.9GB when freezing up, so i ruled that option out. I have also updated unity to the 4.3 and downloaded the web player as well. I also tried switching the livedev off but it didn't change much. Tested the following "Launch Option" in rust´s steam preferences without luck. -force-opengl -force-d3d11 -force-feature-level-9-3 -force-feature-level-9-3 -force-feature-level-9-2 -force-feature-level-9-1 Last time i got on a server (2days ago) i had no grass flicker, trees were visible and the performance seemed good but froze up when activating my inventory. Anyone have any other possible fixes, trick or ideas up their sleeves? :) Specs if relevant. DevLiveBranch • OSX 10.8.5 MBP 15-inch Retina (late 2013) 2.6 MHz i7 16gb 1600 ddr3 • Intel Hd Graphics 4000 512 MB + Nvidia Geforce GT 650M 1024 MB
