Yeah, thats how I look at the "beach kids". Barbarians is all they are. Get away from the beach.
One must wonder then, why you are even playing a game that you find silly, stupid, and boring? Also, that attitude of yours is holding the game back more than those kids.
I'm not playing it, actually. I stopped a couple weeks ago. I just monitor the forums now and watch the change logs, hoping that it gets fixed so I can enjoy it again.
One must wonder then, why you are even playing a game that you find silly, stupid, and boring? If you've ever played Sid Meiers Civilization just think of the kids as barbarians. Nobody likes them but they are kind of part of the cycle to thin out the weak.
Not the best strategy to sell a video game - not every player is going to be a "1337 clan dominator." But guess what? Those other (solo, casual) players deserve an enjoyable game experience, too. Hence the topic of "balance."

There are other lone-wolves that feel the same way as you, currently, but they can speak for themselves, and likely have opinions that are not identical to your own. It always seems egocentric to me, when I see an individual unilaterally taking up the mantel as the voice of an entire group of people. And for those of us that are lone-wolves, and are most certainly having an enjoyable game-experience, your deduction(s) is/are entirely inaccurate.
I like the idea of hostile, dangerous NPCs. The animals don't cut it - and I rarely find bears or wolves in the game. I think some rare, dangerous robots would be cool in game.
Dont get me wrong, Im not saying it should be a chore by any means. I just think that, at the moment, rust is not living up to the 'survival' part of the game. Food should go down rather fast, but not so much you have to eat constantly, just more so than now. And with water collectors coming, thirst should be easy to keep up. Mostly, I want variety. Anther reason to go out into the world other than to chop trees or mine rocks or raid. Maybe farming will be added as well (I dont think it should be required to survive, but the option should be available) In its current state, rust is fun, but lacking. I hope that they add a ton more content into the game to mitigate the end-game grind of making c4 to raid to get more c4, rinse, repeat.
There are many comments that echo this sentiment. I am not speaking for other people - I am paraphrasing their own comments that I've read.
To be fair, that comment does, indeed, extend to many other people here. ;)
As did mine. So then...I suppose in that respect, it's the opposite of egocentric, eh?
As did mine. So then...I suppose in that respect, it's the opposite of egocentric, eh?
There is a difference between referring to a few people, and generalizing an entire group of people through use of rhetoric. Regardless of you stitching your argument together using the comments of others on this thread, does not ignore your use of wording. Example: "Those other (solo, casual) players deserve an enjoyable game experience, too." I just find blanket statements like that, as weird.
I like the idea of more modern weapons as uncraftable loot. Maybe restrict to airdrops or buildings?
