Some of us who bought the game cant play it because it freezes and makes the computer unresponsive... my pc: Intel Core i5 3570 @ 3.40GHz MB: ASUS P8Z77-M 2x4GB DDR3 Dual Channel @ 812.1 MHz G.Skill ASUS 295 GTX PSU: HuntKey APFC 700 from what i figured from all my attempts to run the game, is that it have some issues working with 295 GTX, maybe it because the video card is a dual GPU card, maybe it because the card is just old, maybe its not the card issue at all =\ all i know is that i can run the game for only about 20 min and then it fails. now obviously you ask yourself, maybe its just a problem with my computer, but it cant be because ALL other games i play work just fine. i tried everything, updated my drivers, even the BIOS, tried to disable one GPU, tried to play on low settings and high setting, with VSync and without it, in widowed mode and in full screen, always end up in the same way...
Rust is very early alpha and not optimized at all. Lots of us have problems with it. It runs fine on both of my computers, well, except for the random stuttering that happens at random. Rest assured though, they are working on it.
Will you stop making thread after thread about this?

No matter what, you will experience hard times in near future with that Gpu.Besides that, company does not have to release special patches for Gpus from several years ago.Even Nvidia is not releasing performance drivers for these cards, what do you expect ? You can buy at least Gtx 760 with a good price, after that test it out again.
Your specs are bad and you should feel bad. EDIT: Don't listen to that turkish faggot above me, running Chromium and Windows 8. He should feel bad and so should you. Nvidia is shit. Period. Just buy a r9 295x and join the master race.

The 295gtx has benchmarks that are extremely substandard compared to current tech. Even with two gpu's in there, you aren't going to come near what the majority of players use to play the game. That said, I have a buddy who plays on a 5 year old, shitty Dell and it works. Not well, but it's playable. Have you checked to see what your temps reach on full load? Or even if you're reaching that point?
i dont see any problem with my computer specs, i dont know what the hell are you talking about, for the past 2 years i run all the newest games on high settings with 50+ fps! I can run rust on 130fps on highest settings... and no its not a temperature problem, i run other heavy games and my gpu reaches 80C, 90C max at full load, which is completely normal for the 295 gtx card. the problem is NOT with my hardware.. the problem is with the game. [editline]30th April 2014[/editline] by the way next month im planning on buying a new video card, maybe you guys can tell me which one is better: GTX 650Ti OC 1GB GTX 750 TwinRazor OC 1GB R7 260X OC 2GB I heard ATI got real problems with their drivers, is it true?
E6600 Core 2 Duo EAH 3870 512MB 4gb PC2 5300 I doubt his hardware is at all a problem because mine will run it, however drivers are not a problem for me and I play at 1024 x 768. Obsolescence be damned.

It's not going to be perfect or even close to for everyone. Be patient.

I played the game no problem on my old nvidia 265 gtx. Specs should be good enough imo.

I've been an AMD purist for the past 3 years, and I've never had a problem with any of their shit, and on most benchmarks I've ran I get higher frames than than NVIDIA cards with the same specs. Only problem is that some shit games may play a bit rough due to being horribly optimized to ADM's shit. Only game I've found that has ran worse because of having an a gpu from AMD/ATI is Goat Simulator. I wouldn't however recommend the R7 260x, due to it being old as fuck. Just buy a r9 280x(or if you absolutely have to a 270x) if you're on a budget. At best, your dedicated card (the 295) is only about twice as capable as the Intel HD 4000 iGPU built into your 3570. Just disable the card when you want to play Rust... It's drastic, but a hell of a lot cheaper than buying a new card - especially if, as you say, all your other games run fine already. Edit: I usually run Rust on a HD 3000 and it's fine, so long as the grass is off. I can have it on full quality with a few minor stutters every now and then, or medium-low render level with fluid graphics.

Set a profile in the Nvidia graphics control panel for Rust and force it to ONLY use the integrated GPU.
Umm, unless there has been a technological change since I got my last computer, Elix, that trick will only work on a Optimus laptop setup. Desktop, his motherboard will need to have built in monitor ports. So he would have to manually switch the monitors cord and reboot the system each time.

It's just software -- you can force a program to use a particular graphics card. Granted, if he IS using an external monitor, then it is probably already using the dedicated card, at least for that screen.
Set a profile in the Nvidia graphics control panel for Rust and force it to ONLY use the integrated GPU.
i dont have such option... also in my device manager i only see one display adapter, which is my 295GTX
Then you only have one display adapter, and that advice doesn't apply to you.
No. Your igp uses a different hardware path than your gpu. For him to use the igp, he would need to plug into its display output. There is also sometimes a built in disabler in bos that won't allow the igp to be on if a external gpu is detected. Again, unless I missed a technological change what Elix describes can only be done with Optimus systems. Per Seveir...
i dont have such option... also in my device manager i only see one display adapter, which is my 295GTX
Does your motherboard have built in display ports? Im too lazy to attempt to research on an android browser. If so, turn off the machine. Plug your monitor cord into your built in port and reboot. Your bios should detect the output from the igp port and switch to that. When windows starts it will install the Intel drivers. When you want to switch back do the opposite. You will have to go into your bios to make it choose your igp over or instead of your external card. Or which is just not worth it in my opinion... Take out your pcie gpu so the system has no choice but to use the igp.

Yeah, he has DVI/DSUB/HDMI outputs on that thing, and so long as he changes the BIOS setting to use IGP instead of PCIe, it'll work.
k so i went to my bios and it was automated, so i plugged the monitor to the MB, at first i had just black screen, so i waited... after like 5 min windows downloaded and installed the Intel drivers, and then my monitor turned on and now it working. It appears that the game is stable, i can actually play it, only problem is that it runs on average of 20FPS on lowest settings =\ but i guess it will do, by the end of this month ill buy the GTX 270Ti and until then it will do fine. as for now, i already built a 1x1 house with a metal door in a really good spot where i doubt anyone will find it, if anyone would like to join me, let me know, i could use a friends. lot of thanks to Gliktch for his awesome and creative solution! Oh and my built in GPU is Intel HD2500
