You know I didn't think the gender thing would bother me until I logged into Rust today and found out I am a white woman.
This bothers me greatly, and I want to change my steam ID now.
Why it bothers me I don't feel like elaborating on, but lets just suffice to say this is not the gender stereotype I conform to IRL or online. SO, that is why it bothers me; I'm not trying to role play as a woman, but Garry and co seem to be forcing me to.
Then stop playing rust..

Can some one please explain why there is different genders/race in game if you cannot choose your choice of char
that was a lot of work for the devs just to cause the game all this grief they may just as well left it as it was

i dont think he does answer the question thats a lot of work for little or no gain to the game and it just caused unrest,
I have a feeling he wished hed just left it as it was ...it would have been less work less hassle but same game play result

Every time we get something new, a building system, skin colors, gender there have always been people who complained, every time i see these posts i think oh here we go again, i feel like some of us a are broken records, constantly repeating ourselves. There will always be hassles, complainers, whiners, unrest and the entitled. Face Punch knows this, Garry knows this, and most of us here know it, and all dies down eventually. I think Rust is worth any hassle.

I especially love the part where they fly into a rage over being a woman, and then accuse everyone else of having some kind of SJW / PC agenda ... when literally nobody else cares.

My personal theory is that [B][U]Rust Alpha [/U][/B] is Gary's way to experiment on the player base. He and his team don't feel like at this point in development they should spend any time working on character customization screen, and instead chose to test out as many character models as humanly possible by randomizing them. They give us partial systems and random game mechanics to see how we react to them, and to see whether they improve the overall experience. And ultimately, this state of flux, even though Rust is very playable (much more than many completed releases) is the reason rust is still considered an Alpha. This means any and every game mechanic can and probably will undergo severe shakeups.

Small butt-hurt minorities are usually the most vocal, because people who are fine with the changes have no reason to discuss the changes. You don't see too many threads cropping up about the new lights they introduced, or the changes to the way resource nodes spawn. Most threads here start when someone has something to complain about.

Regardless of whether this is permanent or not, for now it's here to stay. However, there is nothing stopping modders from give us that option. The update last week added female characters; because of this change to the character system, everyone's Steam ID will probably give them completely different results. There will be more changes that force a reroll in the future.
Same as how Minecraft's map generator produces different terrains even for the same seed (once setting the seed was added) between versions.

I agree with you so much like tbh they were retarded because they said they didn’t want players to assume who they are by their look but when people see a girl character they’ll think it’s a girl playing and vice versa which isn’t right why don’t they just add a quick thing where you can choose guy or girl then the hair will be fixated for everyone and the same
When I started the game it had me choose male or female, i chose male.
The ONLY game I ever played as a chick was Tomb Raider back in 2000
