whats stopping people from building stairs to roof level and hopping across the pillars and blowing up the ceiling?

You can place a spike wall and put a barricade + storage box on the spike wall. Then you can jump on the spike wall to the barricade and you are in range to put c4 on the walls. Once the walls are down the base is vulnerable.
While in the picture the barricade doesn't appear to boost you high enough so that you can get inside... there are methods of getting in. There is a glitch where you can launch yourself about 6 stories high by getting stuck against a barricade + storage box.
There is also the stutter jump which happens whenever you lag and jump simultaneously (it makes you jump higher than you should be able).
So can you now place those spikes and barricade inside at the foundation/pillars area in order to reach the walls? (assuming the base was done right, not like this one they posted the video about)

Don't worry about the hackusations, we were on Aus1 for not even 2 hours and were getting called out by randoms.
@tealc: glitches and lag abuse should not be considered when discussing whether or not a base is unraidable; that's equivalent to saying a base isn't unraidable simply because "you can use hacks to noclip fly into it".

Ceilings along with foundations are indestructible even against c4. You have to blast your way into a wall or door to get into a base. Otherwise these high rise style bases would be easily vulnerable to having c4 placed on the floor, blasting a hole to climb up into.

Yes we were, people got to stop complaining about getting raiding and dying, it's just horrid. They instantly go 'OH HE'S A HACKER, HE'S GOT AIMBOTS OMGOMGOMGOMG'. It's just painful.

You can place a Spike Wall 'in' (sticking out both sides of) any pillar, if at the right angle and height, and close enough to it. A lot easier to experiment with this if you have god mode of course. The barricades and boxes simply provide enough height to place the next spike, and of course providing less painful resting spots if you're not on your own server. Have fun ;)
Does anyone know where I can find the plans or a how-to to make a type of base like this? would love to give it a shot, for the life of my I can't figure out how they deposit their items in there

Umm, just a question, whats stopping you from "staircasing" your way to the top, then placing ceilings to stand on amoungst the pillars until you're close enough to place the c4? Do ceilings not place when pillars are arranged in the format shown on the OP's vid?

You cannot place ceilings directly above a full-center pillar.

Indeed, my partner is fairly good at the game. I have better luck with just he and i playing instead of in a big group. Thanks for the comment also :)
the cieling over hangs so from the roof u cant do anything
