Its not working anymore for me I didn't change anything yet, yesterday I logged in and it sent me a pm and the motd.
If you guys dont mind sharing your ranks and commands, there should be default settings for dummies :(
Suggestions:
/ban allows steamid64 or uid number for banning (not just name)
Same with unban
and kick
Add a /history command
Allow /online to have an argument <list> to show names
eg. /online list
would show names of all online.
/online white would show all whitelisted names
/online black would show all non whitelisted names
Allow join messages to be enabled/disabled
Maybe work on kill messages (user killed user)
Thats all for now.

Thanks sherkaslod.
- Good suggestion on the ban, unban, and kick. Wrote that down.
- I'm going to be doing 2 things for chat history. Of course, /history is going to be one of them. The other I will announce once I establish its foundation.
- Will do on the /online. Instead of /online list, /online (alone by itself) will say the actual count. As for player names showing up on /online, I will create a similar command that will parse the information to the console in a easy-on-the-eye format.
- Join messages CAN be disabled. Just delete the lines under [Join] (ex. JoinMessage1, 2, and 3).
- I ran into a brick wall when trying to override some of the methods that included who died when, so it will be a while until that gets implemented.
The join message im refering to is the "Player User has joined."
which cannot be changed. The join message can be yes, I understand that.
Is there any way to make a /noclip command for admins ?
It feels terrible when noclipers are on the server, stealing stuff through walls, and we can't reach them..

We could look into something like this, but it could turn into more of an admin abuse feature rather then something to prevent cheaters. Again, this would all be up to the administrator of that server.
No clip would probably be a bad idea with a mod. Might get detected as a hack?
No clip would probably be a bad idea with a mod. Might get detected as a hack?
A noclip command would not get flagged by VAC as it only detects memory injected/modified types of hacks, but in my personal opinion, I would consider it a server-side hack.
It's always up to the administrators.
You give them the tools, the kids will troll with it, the good guys will use it to ban hackers.
It just happened a few minutes ago, players reported a hacker, but don't have his name, and I can't do sh*t by running around the map.
Edit:
But yeah, if you can add it in the plugin, it would be awesome.
An alpha is made for testing things. Let's try it.

Is it possible to have noclip disable the ability to use the hotbar/items? Not sure how much you can do with modding.
Here are some ideas for the mod :
- A /noclip command, just like the /god and /ungod to enable it or disable it on a player, a useful tool fot the admin. If it can be like Source Engine no-clip (like Garry's Mod, flying in the air fast), it would be amazing for the admins.
- A /history command, like in Rust++ to see the previous messages;
- An option to enable/disable messages when players try to connect when they aren't on the whitelist. (it can cause heavy spam)
- A command to prevent suicide from console
Exemple, /preventsuicide true
When a player tries to suicide in the console, it displays a pop-up saying something that he can't.

Give me the full command you are typing when this error occurs. All I can tell is that you are passing /kit alone (or you might be). Please verify so I can fix this ASAP.

Rust Essentials is the all around (all you need) mod for Rust. This mod utilizes LeatherLoader. In the future we plan on working with other developers to make Rust Essentials more intuitive.
Commands: * All syntax (<>, [], and {}) can be viewed in allCommands.ini after first launch.
Features:
- Advanced, yet user-friendly permissions system
- Extended MOTD settings
- Cycled messages
- Whitelisting (change on/off in realtime)
- In game config reloading (see /reload above)
- A variety of commands
- Environment overriding upon start up
Future:
- Door Sharing (trying to achieve this without modifying a dll. If it isn't possible then we might just have to.)
- Post anything down below of what else you want to see in the mod.
- The following commands:
Download:
1.0.0.0
Old Versions:
Installation:
1. You must have LeatherLoader installed and completely setup before attempting to install this mod. (Follow the "Install Leather" section.)
2. Download RustEssentials from the link above.
3. Extract RustEssentials.zip into the "rust_server_Data" folder. (If it asks to overwrite make sure to click yes.)
4. Launch the server! *
5. After the server starts up completely for the first time after installing the mod, it is recommended that you close it and change the configuration files to your liking. (You can find this in "rust_server_Data/mods/RustEssentials/")
* With the first launch of the server, all needed configuration files are created in the /mod/RustEssentials folder.

What im hoping and many on my server hope for is a mod that allows for being able to see someones name when you hover over them, not when you are like 5 feet away from each other so you know if someone is a friend or not. Also a way to add people to a friends list and a clan list of some kind where there is a marker on them so you know if they are a friend or clan member. Just a few ideas that I have heard around for hopes for future.

There are a lot of things I'm sure of at the moment. As these are the VERY early days of Rust modding, there is no accurate documentation or API. I'm having to do a lot of this ON MY OWN with a lot of hit or miss. Currently, it is hard to draw the line between what is possible and what it is impossible. I'll write it down, and look into it - but I can't guarantee this one.
without looking into it, being able to see someones name from a further distance would normally be client-sided, therefore no
I tested you mod and its very great.
But can you allow us to edit such thinks like.
- Whitelist message(I want to add the page to the whitelist webpage)
- Editing the /help command with some own text.
- Editing the [Essential] Tag before every system message.
- Enable/Disable the command not found message
It will be very great if you can do this thinks it will help me alot =)

- If you could elaborate, that would be great. I'm afraid I don't understand.
- Got it, will do sometime in the future.
- Just finished doing that actually. Releasing soon.

What administrators really need to do their job more effectively is a /spectate command.
/spectate "name" will show you everything a player is doing as if you were them.
/unspectate "name" will stop you from spectating and will spawn you back at your previous location.
This command would be such a step forward to catching these hackers.
On a side note, top mod so far man. Great job!

Ok, I believe I fixed it. Releasing 1.1.0 now.
Awesome update - we'll be installing this on our server now. Looking forward to you adding shared doors!
---------------
Edit:
A couple of bugs for you:
- botName (config.ini) can't contain a period/. - I usually use the domain of our website (i.e. bob.com), but only "bob" is shown. (Could be intentional, worth posting anyway!)
- When typing /reload all or /reload config, the botName isn't updated
- I can't seem to get a /kit to work that should be usable by anyone. For example, typing /kit starter says "You were given the starter kit" but you receive nothing. Typing /kit starter on someone with Owner permissions would work fine and the cooldown is applied as expected.

With the first point i mean that you can write a custom whitelist kick message like "You are not whitelisted please visit pageblabla"
joinMessag , leaveMessage
How Disables ?
Thank you for creating. mods
Hi, can someone please tell me how the whitelist works? Do I need a Web Page for users to check in so I can add them to the list? should I do that in game? what if I add someone to the list and later this person ends up being a glitcher?
Im new to administrate a server and all these things, so any tip is welcome
thanks
Great update. Im looking forward to use Essentials instead of Rust++.
Very nice updates!
Now the last thing I could only hope for is one of two...
Door sharing... or allowing the mod to pass on the 'share' command to rust++ for sharing.
Please....

Hum. If you don't know the name of the hacker, you can't spectate him, dude..
The point is to get the name of the hackers to get rid of them.
Exemple: If a guy speedhacks, you're an admin, and you see him running like f*ck, you can't reach him to see his name, because of the display name distance and the lack of /noclip command to reach him.
Also nice udpdate there, you're doing well, guys ! The best plugin by far ;)
