Mistad is only 16, so the realization of something going this large at that age is still hard to comprehend. Early on, we don't realize that something so simple, can absorb your whole life as this mod is doing to him. I'll gladly wait, and substitute the wait time with another mod till he comes back. It's definitely worth the wait.
As an adult, I understand this. Sadly, all the anklebiters on my server don't give a shit and will move on in a heartbeat.

We finally hit double digits yesterday for the first time this month - after being down all day, will prolly be at 4-5 members only. I get it - but the common user does not.
Yea, we're sitting over 50 people right now, and thankfully they're very understanding. Just gotta be up front with them, and those who whine non stop, you don't want them anyways.
Mack7n i understand what this can do to a young lad, but having no mods run at all is just a no go, i am not bothered to run the same version of essentials for a few updates. because it's a good mod. but we need to have those mods in order to keep our player base. :) Dont mean to be rude or anything, i hope you understand my pov! ;)
He won't add Anti-Decay because of the fact it causes crazy lag on servers. You CAN add a command to your server.cfg that can slow it down. decay.decaytickrate "300" 300 is stock number. Every 300 seconds, it ticks dmg. So if you change the 300 to 600, it'll double the time that it takes for things to decay. So if a pillar decays in 3 days at 300.... it'll take 6 days at 600.... and so on. Don't go too much lower than 300 if you want to make Decay quicker. I messed around with it and did tickrate at 1..... Barricades/Pillars lasted like 15 seconds. hahaha. (but caused CRAZY server lag)
you sir have it backwards, i set the tickrate to 0.0000001 that way it would take MONTHS for things to decay.
you sir have it backwards, i set the tickrate to 0.0000001 that way it would take MONTHS for things to decay.
The way I've learned it, is "decaytickrate" 300, means a tick of dmg every 300 seconds. if you set it to .00000001, it'll tick dmg every .0000001 seconds, thus destroying stuff quickly. If you put that in your server cfg, and boot your server up, it'll come to a stand still w/the amount of lag from the thousands of ticks a second. If it "ticks" every 600 seconds, that doubles the time for the full dmg to be done. I have tickrate set at 600 on my server, no lag, and stuff isn't decaying as quickly.

It is possible to set decay to off with not much lag, Rust++ does it without server performance impact.

Has anyone been able to boot up their server with Rust essentials after the new 2/25 update? can't seem to get my HFB up. . . [editline]25th February 2014[/editline]
Has anyone been able to boot up their server with Rust essentials after the new 2/25 update? can't seem to get my HFB up. . .
Scratch that. And as far as the decay rate goes its definitely 0.000001 for slow decay. I've had it this way for several weeks now and have yet to have anything decay.

On second attempt the Rust essentials mod is actually not working with the new update yet. Upon restarting the server several times with multiple steam updates and reimplementing my .cfg files the server does not remember my settings (me as admin) and fails to load the old settings. . . Any thoughts? Its as though rust essentials isnt loaded on when it is.

Typically when a game is updated, you have to wait until the mod is updated. The mod dev stated he would work on it today and push out an update - why is everyone ignoring that and complaining it doesnt work? Wait for the update... 1.6.2 is not the new one, that is version that fixed other issues and was released prior to the games update

Sorry if it came off "whiney"

But every game patch results in paost after post where people complain the mod is broke - it should be understood that once game updates that the mod needs it as well and then even after the dev makes a fix - we all still have yo wait on out gsp's

Mistad is a god. So godly that when any donation is made to our server, a portion goes directly to him and the Essentials project. More of you should do the same thing, he definitely deserves it. Heck, I'd even pay a subscription fee to be able to use Essentials on my server.

Wonder if we'll get something working tonight.
1.6.3: - Removed /timescale, time scale no longer exists. - Added /daylength - gets or sets the day length (in minutes). - Added /nightLength - gets or sets the night length (in minutes). - Changed the config file to replace timeScale with dayLength and nightLength. - Changed "Overriding time scale..." to something with day and night length. - Updated to the latest version of rust. - Made Essentials a standalone mod (no longer requires LeatherLoader - still cannot run with R++). Credit goes to R++ for guidance in standalone modding, editted to fit the context of Essentials.
Guess you could say you have something working by tonight. Please note that Essentials is a standalone mod now, thanks to indirect guidance by R++. This means you no longer need LeatherLoader. I think I fixed censorship, someone test for me. I have no idea, so I didn't add it to the changelog. Make sure you update your config.ini and commands.ini. allCommands.txt is always optional. Here you go guys, back on break for me. [Edit] Oh yea and by the way, I heard you guys are having a hard time with duration/condition of items, this should help you guys out (RCON commands): Upon damage/use of an item or weapon, the damage is multiplied by this multiplier than subtracted from the condition to get the next condition: conditionloss.damagemultiplier 1 This one I haven't tested, but I found - probably has to do with armor items. Same thing as above: conditionloss.armorhealthmult 0.25

Nitrous Networks doesn't even have Essentials or Rust ++ in the MODS section any longer, hell Leather Loader is gone also???
waiting on Streamline to add latest Essentials Version to the list. Thanks MistaD <3

It seems like the mods are no longer depend on leather either. With the exception of drop party. Guessing it will be phased out soon.
Awesome work MistaD! your the best man. When you get back from your break can you look into adding this into essentails? http://rustservers.tumblr.com/post/77767355918/api-how-to also is anyone can answer if essentials works with oxide. I'm pretty sure it doesn't but i am just wondering.
