Hi, if this is on HFB: they include the new updated 1.6.3 DLL's, but by default also their 'own' configuration files....
There is an error in the logfile when the configuration is loaded initially - indicating missing variables, and that leads to the issues with the time (as the config file cannot be loaded properly). By deleting the HFB-config file (config.ini) from the Rustessentials/ folder, and restarting the server, the *correct* config file is generated. Then, everything should work (freezetime is apparently True when the config file cannot be loaded, the author may want to reconsider). It worked on my system (- [EU/EN/DE] Orfals rust server) at least (HFB server based).
I just edited the file to include /daylength and /nightlength variables. Fixed it right up.

Yes this worked!
Hi, I have a problem with the new update i´ve got tons off errors with the Text:
What could this problem be. I think i got this problem bevor but i used oxide back then.
Also the chatlog don´t work right. It records like 1 Minute after the Server start but then it don´t work anymore.
People have reported this running Oxide too. I think it's a Rust thing.
only problem i have now is this:
allowedChars=a,b,c,d,e,f,g,h,i,j,k,l,m,n,o,p,q,r,s,t,u,v,w,x,y,z,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,0,`,-,=,',.,[,],(,),{,},~,_,|,,,?,/,*,^
# If false, players can have anything they want in their names with no restrictions.
restrictChars=true
and i have a "|" in my name I am getting kicked for illegal characters. if i change it to
allowedChars=a,b,c,d,e,f,g,h,i,j,k,l,m,n,o,p,q,r,s,t,u,v,w,x,y,z,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,0,`,-,=,',.,[,],(,),{,},~,_,|,,,?,/,*,^
# If false, players can have anything they want in their names with no restrictions.
restrictChars=false
i still get kicked. and yes i took server offline first. made the change and brought it back up and tried again.
Can anyone help me? i cant seem to remove a wrong placed pillar when i do /remove and then hit a the pillar it does nothing.
I am in the rank.ini so it should work. any ideas>?
did that doesnt work
got it now thx!
no matter what i did the game kicks everyone for illegal characters - I tried what orfal suggested which previously worked, but now when i delete the 1.6.2 cfg file, and start the server, no new cfg file appears.
[editline]26th February 2014[/editline]
now i cannot even get my server to run vanilla....
Any word if GameServers will be getting this mod? I switched to them from HFB (Cause HFB is horrid and lags/crashes my server at least 7 times a day) They just don't have any mods yet, they said they are waiting for the dev's to reply and allow them to install the mods.
Thanks!
New version works like a charm, if you are having problems it is most likely on your side
It doesn't use leather loader anymore, but on fpsplayers the dependencies haven't been adjusted I imagine. So the cpanel atill thinks it needs it.
18 hours for HFB to get a mod update working... It's unbelieveable. First time with HFB and I already know I wont be with them next month. Lets see how long it takes for them to actually get it right.
Edit:
They have time to get Magma for us but can't fix Essentials.... -_-
HFB has a partnership with MAGMA?
For updated the MAGMA.
And not arranged the Essentials!
I will not stay with him more this month!
24/7 support? Joke!
It takes a lot to answer the tickets
any have an idea how i can get rid of people being kicked for invalid characters? i want them to allow it.

I did about 8 hours of testing with HFB's setup to make sure Essentials was working correctly. I didn't update it until 6AM this morning when I woke up. With huge changes in these updates, it cannot be instant.

Already did that and nothing. Been waiting almost half a day for a reply to a support ticket too. Great experience with this provider. :rolleyes:

Tried this and it fixed the startup errors and stuff I had. Still tho, HFB should make the default config.ini the updated one instead of the 1.6.2 one (this is what was giving me errors).

Joined your server and was instantly greeted by the MOTD. What was not working with your server?

I changed some settings and not return.
I changed some settings and not return.
1 - Name of the server
2 - Numbers character name
Okay so all the config files like MOTD and such are blank.
How does one set them up? I am super sad that R++ is gone, and this is not nearly as intuitive it seems. Anyone?
To be more specific, i can not modify an MOTD because the ini files are blank and when i type anything on them it says invalid ending string. etc.
Theres no base code to modify.... Also kits are the same way. Or any of the INI files for that matter.
I have had that happen, once you upload/unzip your config files to the folder...stop then restart the server....worked for me...

You need to start your server after essentials is installed, then stop it. The files and their content are generated after you start the server.
Then you can feel free to edit your MOTD and other config files....
Essentials blows Rust++ out of the water! Rust++ intuitive? LOL.

Air drops still broken yeah. I just added to {/airdrop} to an hourly MOTD.

Rust++ isn't gone, it has been merged into Magma.
after use /Remove item does not appear in the inventory (
and can ruin other people's buildings

That's nice and all dude, but it worked fine before. I tried magma and it requires plugins, which I also don't have the slightest clue how to install with my provider. They offer magma but no plugins with it. So I install magma and get nothing what soever as far as plugins. Why change what works? Lol.

Remove tool should only be accessed by Admin only on Essentials. There is no flag system for regular players to use it. The remove tool can remove everyones building.

Magma was just released early yesterday morning, and the plugins are currently being developed for it. It comes stock with Rust++ built in. So if that's all you really enjoyed, then you can have that with the basic Magma install. BUT, now Magma offers the ability to expand that selection with other plugins that are being developed by other people than just the Magma team. Cut them a little slack, they're trying the best they can, and offering more of what people have been asking them for (more options, with stability). :-)
Now, lets keep this thread to Essentials please, and anymore questions about Magma, head over to their threads or website.

Thanks.
Ok so new to useing essentials, I think I got most of it down but I don't get the safezones / warzones part. How I understand it is safezones allow allied factions to not damage each other in them zone. is this correct? I assume warzone mean the opposite? Do people in the same faction have friendly fire without the safezone or just in general no matter where they are on the map? Is there a place that can explain the commands a bit more in detail by chance just so I don't make a mistake? Thx
Just wondering if there is a way to change durability of items?
