If I delete the default loot tables and try to add my own, Essentials won't load at all. When I reinstall the default tables, it loads up fine

in console (f1) of all players :
Exception : Trying to read past the buffer size when calling RPC Method SupplyDropPlane:GetNetworkUpdate - likely caused by mismatching send parameters, different size or order.
That error has always been inconsistent. I've never been able to replicate it on my own account. Then again, I don't have a player base on my test server - so network lag and desync might be the culprit. Maybe a rust thing?

Hello! I installed this mod on my server! But I can not use /remove! can you tell me how to release the players to use it? Thank you!
Hello! I installed this mod on my server! But I can not use /remove! can you tell me how to release the players to use it? Thank you!
There are two commands. /remove and /remover. These commands are activated by on/off ex. /remove on
The remover tool for players has a few limitations per mistad:
1. Only works on objects you own
2. Only works on foundations, pillars, and ceilings (on or off for each via the config)
3. Different tools return different amounts of items
and do different amounts of damage
4. Only works on objects that cannot be naturally removed (Pillars, Ceilings, Foundations).
It will not remove walls stairs etc.
The allCommands.ini is a really helpfully file it explains the function and syntax of all the commands.
Feel free to pm me for more help or post your commands.ini. You have added /remover to the player rank and activated it right? Also you can adjust the settings in config.ini

Thank you! What I do not know is how to give permission to use /remove! I went with my rcon and typed /remove on but says I'm not allowed to use it!

Connect via FTP to your Server, open "Save/RustEssentials/ranks.ini
Add your Steam ID to [Owner.O]
Restart Server.
Enjoy.
Hi!
How do I remove decay?

Can I activate cheatpunch when I am running Essentials Mode? Any experience?
Thanks so much for integrating voting support into your mod, guys. I hope the API we provided was sufficient enough to make the integration fairly easy. Let me know if you need anything.

Have you gone in and set up and of the configuration files that were created up start up? If not do that. You need to adjust your commands.ini and ranks.ini to achieve what you want.

Thank you for taking your time to make such an elegant website. It's a good thing us tool providers are around for subprogress to be made. I do have a request though, do you think you could have the get request return a 2 if a a set request was sent for a UID (0 = did not vote; 1 = voted, has not redeemed; 2 = voted, has redeemed)?
Hey guys:
Lately, I've seen a large population of rust players, server admins, and server owners that are uninformed about RustEssentials. A majority of them either don't know what it is, where it came from, what's in it, etc. And, as I barely ever ask for a favor back, I was wondering if you guys could majorly assist me in creating an informative wiki about the mod. Since I, myself, don't have time to dedicate to a wiki page (you guys already know how late I stay up in the mornings every night - hell I got a B on my midterms cause I stayed up too late and was too tired to focus on testing day), I really need you guys to help me out and spread the word of the plugin. Out of all of the scenarios I've gone against, the two that pop up the most are "What is Essentials?" and "I know what it is, but I've never used it." Of the people that know what the mod is but have never used it, a small but advisable population don't understand what the mod holds in store - the possibilities. I'm not trying to sound like a biased asshole (which I probably am), but I think a wiki page would help us all out. Hell, who wouldn't like to know all ends of the mod?
This is all I ask for: a favor in the form of a gift meant for giving back.
I've pushed myself to help you - now I ask that you help me out in return.
I'm having trouble on my server with the owner/administration options. I was able to have it working earlier with me as an admin/owner, but when i went to add someone else as an admin, i know have a message saying that none of us have access or permission to do certain things. I'm confused because earlier i was able to do so! What is going on? did i code something wrong? I used filezilla and connected to it with the FTP while the server was up and restarted and still nada.
Add me on steam, it's easier to help you.
Rust Essentials Wiki Begins Here: http://rust-essentials.wikia.com/
Currently this is just a starter page, I plan on starting to add the available commands and the "help" for each.
If anyone wants to contribute to the wiki feel free to help.
Please keep your posts organized and keep the spelling, punctuation and grammar correct or as close to it as you can get.
Is there a way to have faction based prefixes right now or would I have to set them manually in the prefix file?
Is there a way to have faction based prefixes right now or would I have to set them manually in the prefix file?
For now, I just recommend that factioned players include their faction name in their steam name. The reason why this isn't a feature is because of the way rust chat works. If a player's name is too long, it clips.
Hey I'm having trouble with the "default loadout file".
I want my players to start with a set of items. For some odd reason nothing is working even though I have changed the dlf I am still starting with the basics.
Here is what I have put in the file:
[Hotbar]
Rock:1
Bandage:5
Torch:1
[Inventory]
Hunting Bow:1
Hatchet:1
Arrow:5
Can of Beans:5
Cloth Boots:1
Cloth Helmet:1
Cloth Pants:1
Cloth Vest:1
Is anybody else having this problem or am I doing something wrong?
It works just fine for me. did you restart your server or /reload loadout?
It works just fine for me. did you restart your server or /reload loadout?
Yes I reset the server but still no luck. I haven't tried /reload though, I will do it asap and let you know.
I also realized the command /remove doesn't work. Any possibility as to why?
Other then that I'm loving 1.7.0!

the command is
/remove (on/off)
so
/remove on
/romove off
also for regular players its
/remover on
/remover off
For the new loot tables...do I have to leave the originals in the folder to keep this working? Can I add more files to the folder? If I delete all and put in my own, Essentials won't boot up
Never delete the originals. Instead, make your own and call your tables from the originals.
Never delete the originals. Instead, make your own and call your tables from the originals.
Got it working, thanks!
One more, what would keep everyone from bleeding on the server? I just fired it up and no way to get somebody to start bleeding, lol. I read about this somewhere before but can't find the answer now

Yes its working, thank you so much!
The only thing now is when a normal player types "/remover on" it says the tool is not enabled on the server. How do I enable it?

Official RustEssentials servers are up again - this time with more organization! We do need moderators and we definitely need players. The modded server will be monitored more than the vanilla one, of course. As #1 being modded and an official Essentials server, #1 will always be running dev builds of Essentials (1.7.0.2 at the time of this post). Check out the toprustservers for more details! Invite people, form factions, fight, enjoy, and help further development!
Donating will earn you a status and recognition - but not a game changing kit. I don't like pay-to-win kits, but you will be getting something for your patronage.
Voting will earn you 100 planks in game (type /vote for information).
Inviting friends will also earn you a reward. The more people, the better the recognition!

You can't, but I can probably add that.
