So I am confused.... where are these red bear and wolves keeping backpacks?! Why is this shit on them? This is SUCH a stupid modification to the game. It makes me want to quit playing.
I don't even know where to begin addressing this. Zombies all wearing back packs was just as "unrealistic" as loot dropping off bears. Zombies were also completely harmless and provided nothing to the game, at all. And you knew this was coming.
The devs have been open about the fact that they don't want Rust to be a DayZ clone anymore, and that they decided this months ago. They have also been open about the fact that they would be removing zombies, and that this was in fact supposed to have happened before Rust launched on Steam, but didn't.
Welcome to alpha, where things change.
THIS Is a Perfect Example of a BAD post.. and then a GREAT post.. PEOPLE.. notice the difference please.. stop making stupid posts..

C'mon Sherlock, it aint that hard: infected humanoids disappeared, instead infected wolfs and bears with human backpack inside are roaming in the same place.
Clearly, zombies got eaten by bears along with thier backpacks - logical and realistic as the games go.
lol you guys sure do make some silly assumptions. Removing zombies was planned waaay in advance, and they already have a substitute lined up to replace it that they've said will be announced soon. How is any of this being done 'without direction'
Exactly. This has been detailed on Trello for a good while. Also the patch notes from yesterday say the wolf/bear zombie replacements are simply placeholders. This was a marketing/business decision not a game-play decision.
These games don't get developed in a vacuum where only the whims of the average 15 year-old high school dropout matter.
You should take the time to understand why we say "it's alpha" over and over again. When you bought the game, you agreed to the description of the game you should have read. "Everything will change. Beware." Sorry if the devs don't follow your idea of how game development should work. They've said from the beginning that they aren't going to keep them. What these studios are doing is smart. They make a change, wait for the initial overreaction to die down, and see how people adjust to the new mechanics. So stop whining about the devs experimenting. This is how they work.

Bye. If you don't want to stick around for what the devs have yet to even announce as the real zombie replacement, you have every right to leave.
I understand it's alpha and things will change. That said, we can still post that we don't agree with a direction they're going (otherwise they may never know we don't agree with the direction they're going).
So - here are my thoughts on Zombies in the game:
I grew to really like the zombies and the way the game was. Zombies give us a bit of a feeling for how we ended up where we are. We see zombies and we automatically associate an end of the world apocalypse. Zombies are also very fun to kill. Simple AI's there to be slaughtered.
The "red animals" are not .... good. I mean, seriously, why do they have guns, ammo, and blueprints? Where are they hiding them? On top of that, now I ask, why are we here? What happened? What clues are being given to us?
I personally feel that Zombies are something they should reconsider. It was a major draw for why I wanted to play this game and while I was expecting numerous changes, I was a bit surprised to learn something as major as removing the single most major non-player threat was even seriously considered.
So yes, it's alpha, things change, I'm sure by your attitude you've given the speal 10000's of times on these forums, however, I still don't agree with the change, and I would like the developer to know that I don't agree. This is how I / we can let him know.
P.S.: I don't agree with the OP's approach either. LOL - i'm not boycotting or quitting the game, I just want my exact above statement out there.
Am i the only one with a tinfoil hat on right now who thinks the extra v's in "revealed" are hinting at vehicles coming soon? I could be a little bit stoned too maybe.
your'e just stoned
i think vehicles will be added eventually, but not before the map size is increased, but they are no replacement for zombies

Tin foil hats have been shown to intensify radio waves, not block them. YOU HAVE BEEN MISLEAD.
Many v's = vehicles
Vehicles not ready yet, creating AI for them.
Rust = What cars do after a while, so... Zombies are coming back, but as cars!
They are prolly gonna get replaced with mutants or something. Sounds like fun to me.
ok so I thought the red bears/wolves had to do with valentines day :) IMO zombies are cool and freak you out when they start chasing you but I am open to any combination of mutant animals (like Prophecy circa 1979). my 2 cents for features mobs would be:
1. let us have woman!! why are all the characters skin head dudes? really who wants to use the nude feature on - that is just wrong!
2. PvP/PvE zones on same map/world - would be cool for the daisy pickers and the low brows
3. Mobs that level up - get stronger - remember leveling a little rabbit in Asheron's call in the 90s? only to have a newbie try and kill it and die!? it was so cool
4. permanent locking chest that I need to earn but will always be there for my loot - kinda like a paid bank system
5. currency and loot selling/trading - think about the economy!
6. Invite a friend - get them hooked on 30 day trial then stick them with a bill :)
7. better taunts and world messages like some of the add-ons in minecraft like deathtp ;)
Just give me free roaming mutants similar to Rage and mutant camps that guard loot cases. I would drool if the mutants were like the ones from Rage. Dat animation and speed.
free roaming with some sort of AI that lets them find and use weapons I like but I am not a fan of World of Warcraft well known cache locations with big hordes - they make the game like others that I am bored with ;(
Well, maybe you won't have good hardware but at least every chicks have awesome asses in your country, it should compensate.
yeah, thank god for that!
