I think Rust needs music that gives a sense of unease, creepy. It'd be cool if there were some event-based triggered music, kinda how HL2 does it, but it'd be kinda hard to pull that off seamlessly considering this is multi-player. I believe spooky ambient tones would probably work the best to set the mood without being too distracting/annoying. Percussion is probably out of the question.
