If Rust somehow caused Steam to go down to the point that [url]http://steamstat.us/[/url] is reporting [B]zero[/B] users online, this would be the end of Rust forever. However, that's also as likely as you plugging your computer into the wall and taking down the entire US electrical grid in all 48 contiguous states.
Rust is almost certainly a victim, not a cause, of the outage.
