Some people said they could after a few days though (on official servers). Probably because they do restart them every x days. Other than that, I don't see a reason to invest more time in the game if they essentially have a bug that bans random players that they won't fix. If I can't connect to that server (100+ hours, 50 rooms+, 10 person town) then I'm going to call my bank and tell them it's not an authorized transaction. My time and money has been wasted and I don't feel good about supporting a company like that. At least then, my money wouldn't be wasted and I'd get it back. You must remember you have power in this too and not get bullied by their troll accounts on the forum or thinking that there's nothing you can do about it.
Do you realize what will happen to your Steam account if you reverse the transaction for your purchase of Rust?

Did you not notice this? Do you realize what it means?
I don't have any sympathy for you if you want a refund for a game that you were warned up-front is in alpha.
The version of Rust you're playing on isn't being updated anymore. They're working on a fresh start on the experimental build, using the lessons learned from the current version of Rust, and the experimental build will replace the current version when it's caught up to where the current version is at.

Good luck getting a refund. If you do a chargeback Steam will not be happy and your account will suffer from it.
If you want to risk it then go for it, but I wouldn't recommend it. Just hang tight until the experimental branch is done, it'll be worth it.
(They'll see a chargeback as fraud and shut down your entire Steam account. So if you really want your $20 back then you can have it at the cost of all the other games you've purchased.)

I sincerely hope you will call your bank and have the money transferred back.
That way your steam account will be blocked for fraud and we won't have to see your face on this forum ever again.
Edit: The fact you even consider such an option tells books about you.
Rust is same as in Css or csgo. You can see Ip-s to ddos, and they are abusing it.
Also, why are you on the forum trolling if everything works fine for you on your private server with 2 people on it (both hackers). The forums are a place of talking about problems of the game. 5600 posts on a single game forum, nn to say anything else.
So now you are accusing respected forum users of hacking. And they are not forum trolling, they are trying to help you figure out how not to be an idiot on the internet.

And was there not a forum post from a person called maxmofore or something complaining that he got VAC banned? I may be wrong here but I am pretty sure I recall his name from somewhere.
There's a very sick and twisted part of me that really hopes he's doing a chargeback with his bank right now.
[editline]19th May 2014[/editline]
I hope the $20 is worth the entire rest of his Steam account.

Steam treats chargebacks harshly.. I think microsoft is the king of chargebacks though. They disable your entire account if I recall correctly. I never seen steam do it, so I assume it's just as nasty.
Where do these people crawl out of anyways?
Not only that, but now I can't even connect IF they do fix this problem apparently (Researched this other problem also).
Now it's saying YouAreAlreadyConnectedToAnotherServer:zoid: and I'm pretty sure this error spawned due to some screwed up lag just from their bad servers being ddos'd during the last time I was able to get in. And I've read it's another problem that is totally random and effects 1 in 3 players and doesn't have a fix and takes anywhere from 1day to a week to be fixed (they have to restart the server apparently and I guess only do it every so often).
They should have the resources to fix these problems. Servers shouldn't be ddosable by one person. And if they were, they could fix it by simply blocking the port and setting the port to something else or blocking their ip/dns or blocking proxies. Or get better/bigger servers and move the data to those.
Restart server is not a solution? or i will wait admin kick? or i pay 20 $ by the pain?

... what?
I'm not 100% sure what you're saying/asking, but just play on a community server instead of the officials.

i play in uk2 but i try connect saying " YouAreAlreadyConnectedToAnotherServer" i don´t play forever?:(?:nws:
And can you connect to any community servers?
And can you connect to any community servers?
Yes, all server but no uk2 =()=
I think he's saying he's been waiting for 3 days to fix the rust and now he is not happy
People complaining about a 3 day long ddos attack? Pff, try having your game denied to you for 2-3 weeks then come back and try again.
Also nominate maxmoefoe for forum's dumbest poster
This problem is much bigger than the official servers. Many of the companies selling Rust servers don't have DOS protection. A lot of server owners are basically left helpless. Their servers are getting DDOSed and they can't do anything about it.
On top of that many of the companies selling Rust servers do not allocated the proper resources a server needs. This causes servers to constantly crash, lag even with few players online, and randomly kick players.
I have talked to few community owners and they have basically given up on Rust due to all these issues. These issues are also impacting players and causing a lot of frustration.
Garry, if you read this, please reconsider making the server public... or at least available to communities who want to run their own servers, so those communities can dedicated the appropriate resources the servers need, handle their own DDOS protection and use resources they already have. It really sucks when server owners work hard to make a server popular, and then the hosting company changes the server's IP address because they have to move it to another system to solve the "lag" issues or the server becomes unplayable because of ddos attacks.
Either that, or allow more competition. That is, allow more quality companies to sell Rust servers. Lack of competition leads to the customer (server owners) getting screwed. If my two cents matter, I recommend nfoservers for a host.
It's real shitty yeah, probebly we banned a hacker that got angry and DDos'd our server (still doing it) completely ruined the server. Unplayable now, they always win. We just hade a nice player base 35/40 peeps. I'm only admin not owner but still it sucks. I do enjoy the game still tho. I'm back to just being a player on a other server. It's fun!
I love how the given solution for the inability to connect to official, FP-sponsored servers due to the "already connected" bug is to simply "join a community server".
You guys are a riot, truly.

And what do you suggest otherwise? If people want to play the game they'll likely have better luck on a community server. The official ones have been up and down constantly for a long time and when they're up they're filled to the brim with cheaters.
Doesn't sound like a fun way to play to me. Playing on community servers is just an alternative, we can't do anything to fix the servers.

Personally I play on community servers because there are in my opinion less buildings and less hackers. I also enjoy finding a good roleplay server sometimes which you cannot get in official.
