Long story short I was on youtube looking at rust and WoW related streams and this came up when I filtered for recent uploads. It appears to be a Hackers PoV on a rust server. It took me a couple of views to realize he's watching another hacker while racking up kills with a silent pipe shotgun and finishes the video by killing his fellow exploiter. My question is how common is this? He can literally see EVERYONE from any distance and even what they have on. Since it's recent I assume it can bypass VAC and cheatpunch. Does anyone know if cheatpunch is aware and working on a fix? Rust is my new favorite game but I don't think I can justify playing if other players have such a massive advantage over those of us who don't exploit. Maybe the last update had rocket boots added, but I was not the only one who felt this user was bending the rules. I was on US East Large (#1 I think) and saw this user "Scerum" jumping around like superman while threatening someone in their "house". I was able to snap a couple screenshots. New kind of hack ????? (N.B : im admin of a mod modified loot server with easy supply) two Guy was living in hacker-valley and afeter two days killing nobody they had metal house and kev stuf ... i was suspecting them ... So i was satying there a long time looking at them. and sometimes something strange hapening : they ejected some strange stuff from their inventory to the floor... On other hand, we had a bug : airdrops disapear when they hit the floor , like "falling, landing , Pooof Nothing" ! So i began to suspect those people to "absorb" or "immediatly steal" every airdrop , then they just throw useless stuf they get ... After 2 night looking at this suspicious show, i decided to ban them without being sure... But wow ... the airdrop have no more bugs now ... I have to notice this NEW HACK that ive never seen before !

On my first server ever where I have a huge base with friends we offline-raided someones big castle and as revenge he came with an invisibility and invulnerability hack floating thru the map I guess and killed one of our members and then logged off. Seems to be piss easy to get hacks. I wonder how he achieved all his stuff.

What is it with the people who have had a vac ban and it says: X days since last ban. And they are free now to continue their hacking? I had one of them on the last server spraying headshots with his pistol, killing a bunch of people in a few seconds. I thought a vac ban is final. Can anyone explain how that works?

My friend and I just got killed by a hacker named FriendlySadPanda in the server West Coast PVP/ Air Drops. We were running down the road in the middle of the night when we heard some guy ask if we were friendly. A second later, he fires 4 rounds in 2 shot bursts. The first two kill me instantly, the next shot hits my friend who was hiding behind a tree literally half a second after I died. Why doesn't that rude admin "Postal" just sticky this thread, rather than blaming/banning people who miss it? If it's on page 2-3, you can't often see it, and also it's actually quite hard to find via the search features (if you directly search 'hacker discussion', much like Postal always says when banning someone, nothing comes up).

The rules thread which is pinned at the top and includes the ominous phrase "READ OR GET BANNED" includes a link to this thread. Several days ago i caught someone who foolishly(thankfully) posted a screenshot to his profile while using "RustJackD" cheat.However,he deleted that screenshot when i warned the server admin about that. Right now he is banned from our server and from several servers as well,yet VAC not caught him. The OP is absolutely correct, this thread needs to be stickied, and Postal is utterly clueless by handing out bans for missing this thread when it's one of the most consistently active (but not always in the top-20) Get a grip and sticky it!

Hello all, As you may now, Rust suffers from hackers in official servers and finding good community server is not easy. In UK-3 server there are some hackers that we (so many players) already reported via VAC many many times! All of the GODS clan russians hack, they fly, speedhack, aimbot for about 2 months now and none of them have been banned.

I hear about all these hackers and think how glad I am we don't get any of them. How on earth does everyone have hackers on their server? We had hackers ONCE on our server, they were immediately banned and could never come back. Haven't had/seen a hacker since.

It would be kind of pointless to hack a server with 15 players, the legit players would simply logoff and the hacker would be alone! Hackers, particularly the overt "griefers", need to feel powerful and notorious, and that's why they mostly target the official servers. Lack of admins is a small "benefit" for them, but there are probably hundreds of private servers that are not actively administered and they ignore those.

Every server has problems with hacks. I hope for the games sake, that a patch this week will fix this!

Cheater: The Real Peach Fuzz Server: US Central 1 Vac Ban: says he had a vac ban 4 days ago. I met this person in open world. He killed me of course. So i did the normal bitch about it in chat aim was bad blah blah blah. Next thing i know he pops up next to me in game and head shots me.
