I can't make head nor tail as to the meaning of this post, though it doesn't surprise me that Mezamorphis has agreed with it. He seems to condone talking about racism when it is directed towards white people, as shown with his wholehearted agreement with Grymthor's post about it and his constant disagreement that racism is an issue within the game.

oh stop with the victimization and strawman pulling. the only thing I disagree with is people trying to start a racism debate on a game forum, this is not the place to discuss that. I would simply like to be able to select race for the sake of immersion. My server is all Cold War themed, all my adverts are actual headlines from the 70s and 80s. I considered making a Vietnam themed one too, in which case I'd probably choose an Asian skin depending how I felt like playing. Aside from that, I could care less about all the racism, it has nothing to do with FP, as has already been pointed out, its just people. If FP were to remove the various races, its like punishing the whole of the player base just because of a few morons. At the same time, I see nothing wrong with a White guy preferring a white avatar, or a black guy preferring a black avatar, so on and so fourth, so I seriously hope they add a simple selector.
What makes Rust so interesting is that it brings the Darwinian out in everyone. You have been provided a virtual environment in which you can really destroy someone's time, or lose your own. You can be sociopathic, kind, forgiving, vengeful, spiteful, generous and yes, even racist. I would be much more concerned with the real life personalities behind some of these people than the fact that some of you think FP should remove the skins lmao.. I can't stand the word "nigger" guess we need to take all the black folk away. :suicide:

In my opinion, its not about race, its not about racism. Its about people with no social manners and lack of maturity. Im glad that they aadded different skin colors, its a nice step towards diversity in this game. People that will call you nigger are looking for atention. Just ignore them and take a screenshot. On 90% of comunity servers this will get you banned. I dont think this issue has other solution, people will be dicks regardles of skin colour of your avatar.

the way in which a player acts within a game is the players responsibility, IF it is against the servers rules then it is down to the admin's to enforce those rules, it is not FP's issue to police social attitudes and responsibility, FP have introduced a number of skins, black blue green red yellow it doesnt matter, if a player comes up to you spouting off racial slurs then you either grow a backbone, put them on ignore, or report them to the server operators, Facepunch is not liable and shouldnt panda to peoples pathetically over the top human rights political correctness going mental attitude.

I think the overall meaning was lost in translation here with this user's post.
The understanding I got from the above statement was that both "afro-american" and "the N word" are terms that have been created and reinforced by a majority white socioeconomic power structure with much stronger influences on the educational, media, legal and cultural/entertainment aspects of the USA, regardless of their intended definitive or descriptive purpose and context, and however they may have changed over time. The fact that the political distance has increased between the two terms does nothing to change the fact that the reasons for racism within multicultural communities of any size are deeply affected by the language used within them, and that we continue to educate our children with (either through school or computer games and digital social networks). It seems there is currently a need for a deeper look at understanding how different cultures can communicate on more open terms, with equal input into how that language is used, and if needs be how it can be adapted to serve the interests of the majority people who are expected to use it to speak to each other.
All humans are certainly not equal, not currently. I think he meant this in a general economic, medical, educational, environmental and technological capacity which you can't really argue against, can you?

You can't unmake words, but you can affect and inform people's understanding of their etymology, uses and functions; past and present. Once again, this game's development is simply reflecting our ever evolving human traits and giving us the opportunity to explore them in a fun and safe environment.
