Wow! Thanks for all them there explainations on the gaming and computery stuff!
No need to be a dick about it, he was trying to help.
No need to be a dick about it, he was trying to help.
Sigh...Okay, in an effort of peace let me say I'm sorry, and I think that Utilitron and I may sort of agree, but perhaps I'm not explaining myself clearly. I just don't appreciate the condescending remarks explaining things that I don't need explained. I'm not saying that the bottleneck in the way things are rendered isn't what's causing the problem, I'm just saying that currently there is a noticeable change in fps when I turn the grass off/on. I don't actually mean that the grass is some resource hogging graphics issue that's ruining the game, but that the way the game is currently rending things it's causing an issue with it somewhere. The reason I posted all my settings wasn't to get a rundown of how things work, but to demonstrate that by adjusting other things I was able to superficially pinpoint an issue with the grass. Enough so that if I was programming/working on the game I would probably monitor it see what's happening, which is what FP is doing, so that I could find a solution. But I'm not working on the game, and so I can only share my experience as a player reporting what evidence I see in performance.
