Then make one that's online defense. I want my god damn MG nest while raiding.

No we need human operated turrets on the back of vehicles.
Yes, at one point garry said it was temporary but at another point we saw concepts for new cupboard skins. The thing is, we don't know if it's going to be removed or not. .
When the new concept for the cupboard were uploaded to the Trello 3 months ago, another dev immediately commented to not put effort in that cupboard object because they didnt for how long that object will be kept in the game. So to not put effort in it because it would be wasted effort.
zipperbear.....what's going on at home man? Why are you so hostile to everyone?

might wanna avoid jokes like that. just saying.
I reckon you should be able to get past the turrets by wearing Tin Foil Hats.
I reckon you should be able to get past the turrets by wearing Tin Foil Hats.
The foil only works when that supply plane is laying out the chemtrails. (Rust's real backstory is a vaccination experiement gone wrong.)
Edit: Back on topic, manable turrets might be in line with siege weapons on the mind map, which have a dependency on vehicles. So I guess we'll eventually get to "drive" turrets or mortars or catapults or whatnot for epic carnage.
If authenticated by tool cupboard -> Dont shoot.
Else -> Shoot.
How hard can it be?

I hope that the targeting system is much more creative than just box authorization. I really like the idea of them only shooting in a cone in front of them and locking on to everyone even the initial placer. I think this would require a lot of creativity for them to be used in a way that does not shoot you or your clan mates. I am sure not everyone would enjoy this because maybe it poses to much of a challenge for how they want to play.

Agree. We could be seeing the first compound-centric defense mechanism. The wall keeps out the the wandering nekkids, then anyone who ladders over the fence is confronted by turrets. The wall keeps the turrets from wasting ammo on passers-by. And the compound's residents use the airlocked gates.
I'm imagining making rows of side by side hallways each with a turret at the end pointing down them. Occupants would have a single hallway cutting through the middle of these death alleys. The hallway will have a door before each death alley blocking progress to the next. If the door was opened, it would block LOS to the turret. If it were destroyed, the turret would shoot the destroyer if they passed the doorframe.
