Pillar-blocking was an unintended consequence of a wildly-incomplete building system. In effect, you were preventing building exploits with other building exploits. Legacy is not a model to recreate faithfully.
Why would you classify it as a "exploit" and not a game mechanic?
Because garry hasn't recreated it in experimental.
Because garry hasn't recreated it in experimental.
okay but i dont see how that classifies it as an exploit. it was a simple system block you way from being blocked seems fair to me.. besides ppl in this thread are concerned with the looks of their bases.. this is just ridiculos rust is not about visuals its about stealing eachothers stuff.. so naturally any system they put in place that provides the most protection will be used.. so its either this or the pillar system IMO. although i would prefer the legacy solution... dont know why so many of you hate on legacy it was a great game.. it was that game that sold nearly 2 million copies not new rust.
Every good base looked the same. I would not like a return to pillar defense. I already hate the ladder skirts.

Nobody wants legacy back, and most of those 2 million people bought rust understanding that it would change in a big way over the years.
