Why not both? Horses could be "easier" to get, though you would be a lot more vulnerable to direct damage while riding, especially if they aim at the horse(as in they could easily kill the horse with you on it, NOT that hitting the horse somehow hurts you). Cars would be harder to get and could make it harder for you to be directly damaged, but you could pretty much be killed if they concentrate fire on your car and it explodes.
Yes, because horse are totally implausible assets for war and haven't been used for that before. Wouldn't want to easily run down players in open ground to moderately-cluttered terrain, might be too unfair. I really would hate to have something that costs no fuel to use and is extremely quiet. That and it would be really boring to lasso people, then hogtie them, and leave them for somebody who has a car to run over.
Costs no fuel? Except food water and shelter, also horses aren't exact quiet. There really isn't anything quite about 1000 lb animal running especially multiple of them
Someone mentioned riding bears, I would like to see guard bears (Wolves too), also add elephants, with the ability to tame and ride them (War elephants of old) More dangerous critters too, aligators/crocs, snakes, etc.etc
If they put cars in so a bunch of n00bs can troll with cars...game ruined imo...rust is the best making people run and actually put a little thought in their search.. I just imagine thinking ive got a nice location...and then just hearing a car roll up with some trolls in and bye bye base lol

Vehicle engines can generally be heard for miles. It essentially is like a vehicle but cheaper; if your vehicle doesn't have shelter it'll be blown up or stolen. Food (grass, which would be everywhere on the map) and water in the long run are much easier to maintain than fuel. Have you been around horses much?
I still don't see how cars will navigate the terrain very well.. They just don't fit the environment as it stands in my opinion.
both of them are planned guys, why is this a debate? horses will probably need to be fed, have less "hp" and carry weight, but be smaller, quieter and able to traverse steeper inclines. cars will probably be fed with fuel, have more hp and carry weight but be noisier and bigger. both have advantages and disadvantages.
I'd prefer to tame a bear. Riding bears in battle would be soooooo awesome!

Eh, I prefer to ride a Bear into combat than a horse.
Cars would be great... can't see why some are against it. Why not add a little GTA flair into Rust? It would be great to take a ride to a remote part of the map, clean up on ore, and then ride home? All the while avoiding highjackers, landmines, etc..
