I don't know if you've ever encountered the Steam authentication error in any other games before, but I can assure you that it's not an issue involving the game itself a majority of the time. A solid 99.9% of the time, it's usually either because of the user's internet connection being rather poor, or because of an issue with Steam's servers. In this case, it's actually [B][I]not[/I][/B] the game like you seem to believe; if it were, I'm sure the Rust subforum would be flooded with threads similar to this one right now. The fact that you keep trying to use the "NOPE, IT'S THE DEVS! FUCK THEIR SHIT!! BETTER SPAM THE FORUMS LIKE A JACKASS TO MAKE MY POINT!!! HURR DURR!!!!" tactic isn't going to change that.
Now, instead of acting like a spoiled 5-year-old and throwing a fit, you could try providing some actual information about your situation (such as what server you were playing on, whether or not you tried other servers, etc.) so that someone might actually be able to assist you with fixing your problem.

Never played Rust myself, but I'm going to assume you get this error when trying to join a server. Have you tried joining a different server perchance? Or perhaps having the server admin restart the server you want to join/make sure its updated to the latest patch?
If this individual reacts like this over something Facepunch has no control over, I shudder to think how they would react to the buggy mess that was early 2000's KMMOs.
