I doubt this will actually help anything and threads will still pop up, but I have tested this on four different machines, here are the results: My top build (not my current build though, which is major overkill, no use testing there since it runs everything out right now) Windows 8 8GB RAM EVGA GeForce GTX 560 Ti 2GB GDDR5 AMD Athlon II Socket FM2 @4.0 GHz 1 TB SATA HDD Result: About 45fps, ran mostly smooth, but slightly jumpy maxed, but on medium played smoothly at around 55 My second test (My laptop) Windows 8 8GB RAM AMD Radeon HD 8550G 1GB RAM AMD A8-5550 CPU @2.1 GHz 750 GB SATA HDD Result: Did not play very well, around 20 FPS and jittered a whole lot. Lowest settings did not improve performance. Third Test (Friend's Laptop) Windows 7 4GB RAM Intel HD Graphics 3000 Intel i5 @2.6 GHz 500 GB SATA HDD Result: Played at about 15 FPS and had issues rendering lights. Lowering quality brought FPS to about 20 but lights would still not render And for laughs, I tested on this build: Windows 2000 256 MB RAM ATi Mobility Radeon 8MB DDR Intel Pentium III M @1.3Ghz 30GB PATA HDD Result: Would not run. Refused to start and computer started whining, got scared and shut it off (Fun fact: that laptop DOES run Steam! I use it to play REALLY old games mostly, but I decided to test for jokes.) I hope this clears things up slightly benchmark-wise for you people wondering. PLEASE Share your rigs and FPS counts as well! This will help both devs and players who wish to benchmark before buying! Also if anyone is any good with google docs or any other such service, putting this data into a spreadsheet would be very much appreciated!
Here now my System Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit Intel Core Duo i3 3.07Ghz 6 GB DDR3 RAM Nvidia Geforce GT 630 4GB RAM 1 TB Sata HDD Monitor:Acer G226HQL [22" LCD] Benchmark with Fraps: 2013-12-16 22:52:15 - rust Frames: 1077 - Time: 84786ms - Avg: 12.703 - Min: 10 - Max: 19 Fact:Its not a Gaming PC or Else. But if you dont have Problems with 1-2 little stutter maybe every hour, its more than enough to play ;-) EDIT:This Fps are on the lowest setting, but without disable Grass or else.
Oh! I also tested it on my other other laptop (I have a couple old laptops laying around, I am weird that way.) It acted basically the same as the Pentium III laptop, but here goes: Windows XP 2GB RAM NVidia GeForce FX Go5200 64 MB DDR RAM (think it's DDR, can't quite remember) Intel Pentium IV 3.2 GHz 60GB PATA HDD Also smelled hot, but that is normal considering it is a Dell from around 2005.
NVidia GeForce FX Go5200 64 MB DDR RAM (think it's DDR, can't quite remember) .
Yes its DDR. To my System. I testet it with a lil bit of higher Quality now.Frames going Down from 16 to 12,but its also playable.

Windows 7 Ultimate 64Bit Intel i7 950@3.07 GHz 12 GB DDR3 RAM GTX 660ti 250GB SSD (1 TB Sata HDD Backup) Max with no issues. 55 FPS average. 45 during high rendering and heavy firefights. (Grass Disabled. Not for FPS, just cause I think its an advantage.)

Dat self plug of his own post xD thats a lotta laptops though
Freak xD I edit my first Post and added the Monitor too.Its the smallest part of all,but a few ms difference will change something
Monitor size and resolution can make a difference, thanks for that. I should mention that I did not test on external monitors for the laptop, but the desktop test was done on my 23" 1920x1080 TV. [editline]16th December 2013[/editline]
Dat self plug of his own post xD thats a lotta laptops though
The Dell is self-refurbished given to me by a friend. Surprisingly the issue was software and not hardware, as would be the case of most other laptops of that era from Dell. The compaq was an old schoolwork computer that I used when I was in, what, 6th grade? :v: I still use it to play old games. The one that is on I use currently for web browsing, school work and other such nonsense.
I suppose thats true. 21" 1920x1080 Monitor myself.
I suppose thats true. 21" 1920x1080 Monitor myself.
Well playing on a lower resolution can benefit you slightly fps-wise. So for all lurking, if you are having issues, try turning down your resolution a bit and see if things improve any!
AMD A6-4400M APU @2.7GHZ (Laptop) 6GB RAM Radeon HD 7520G + 7600M Dual Graphics 500GB HDD Win 7 Home premium 64 bit Resolution - 1366X768 On fastest graphics settings it averages 30 fps. (highest 45. Lowest spike 21) Does get to about 80 degrees after about an hour but haven't hit thermal shutdown (90D) even after a 15 hour session ;) Haven't tried higher graphics settings.
Arch Linux x86_64 AMD FX 8320 @ 4,4GHZ 24 GB DDR3 RAM Geforce 660Ti 2GB 2 TB SATA3 HDD Monitor:Viewsonic VA2431w [24" LCD] + LG Flatron L1953S [19" LCD] FPS by Mumble Overlay Fantastic settings and 1920x1080 55-80 mostly.. with some drops to 35 when it seems to load new textures or what not Nvidia GL_THREADED_OPTIMIZATIONS=1 60-80 ... with some drops to 40 when it seems to load new textures.
A Sticky for this Thread would be nice
A Sticky for this Thread would be nice
If the devs find this helpful, then I hope they do sticky this. The idea is that hopefully someone has a build that will barely run it, and devs can put it up as the "true" minimum system requirements (since the ones given on steam are very vague.)
This is very helpful for people are looking to buy this yet not knowing if it will run on their PC, it runs fine on mine and mine is a 4GB ram system which isn't the best PC in the world, so specs that players run on is a good help to new people. I also like to hear what systems other people have so I liked this post :)

When you say it runs fine,do you have maybe a benchmark or fps for us?
Whichever admin changed the title of the thread, I really appreciate it  when I get more data here, I'll attempt to make a spreadsheet of the data for easier access.
My FPS is really bad. Any idea why? Windows 7 8 GB RAM AMD A10-6800k APU with Radeon HD 8670 CPU is clocked at 4.1Ghz
My FPS is really bad. Any idea why? Windows 7 8 GB RAM AMD A10-6800k APU with Radeon HD 8670 CPU is clocked at 4.1Ghz
APUs arent that great for gaming, go out and invest about $150 into a graphics card and should have better luck! Pro Tip sell your A10 and get an athlon II 750k beforegrabbing a graphics card, you'll save money and get same performance since it is essentially the same CPU minus the integrated GPU. cheaper, too!
Can I play rust ? Processor : AMD FX-6100 3.30 GHz Graphic Card : ZOTAC GeForce GTX 760 PCI-E 2GB DDR5 Video Card RAM : 8
Can I play rust ? Processor : AMD FX-6100 3.30 GHz Graphic Card : ZOTAC GeForce GTX 760 PCI-E 2GB DDR5 Video Card RAM : 8
Yes, you can. My last build was with an Athlon II (on an older socket,) and had a GeForce GTX 560 Ti, and it ran decently on medium, you should be fine, and can most likely run it maxed.
Ok thanks you, but at maxed settings how much FPS can i get jonnymad ?
Will Rust Run on my computer with these specs.?
Ok thanks you, but at maxed settings how much FPS can i get jonnymad ?
I'd say at least 60, maybe more. I would recommend setting VSync in your Nvidia Control Panel though, since it seems that not having it on really heats up higher-end cards.
Wondering if I could run this game, I would play on the lowest settings possible. Here are my specs: Laptop 4 GB DDR3 RAM 500gb Harddrive Processor: AMD A8-4500 APU (Quad Core) Graphics Card: It dosn't say this one, but the settings do say that it had Radeon HD Graphics with 1.90GHz Also if it help, its a Toshiba Satellite L855D Laptop.
No, it will not run, besides maybe on very low settings.
I was planning on running it on lowest settings possible, as I don't really care for graphics. I would want at least 20+ FPS (Don't even ask, I get used to playing at that FPS)
