Try guild wars 2, cooks my computers!
see GW2 seems fine for me... that's weird. Thanks Jonny I will try that vert sync thing. The hotter it runs the more graphic glitches I get. and being summer and all with 40+ degree temp, its not helping!
Hello, I'm running on: Windows 7 (64bit) AMD Phenom x4 965be ( default clocks ) 6GBs of 1333MHz RAM Ati Radeon 5670 HD I'm running with fastest setting and resolution of 1280x1024, fullscreened. At first it lags a bit but then it starts to run smoothly.. Yet it feels bad, you guys think that it's enough to only upgrade my graphics card or do I NEED TO upgrade my CPU aswell..?
Well, updating your drivers very well could fix this issue, actually, try updating them first, then see how it plays.
Corrected my first post, ment to upgrade my gpu, not update.. Already at newest version (non-beta)
Try forcing vertical sync, Rust does not cap your frame rate, and it will run hot.
Hi Jonny, Sorry to be a noob... Am I forcing on or off. I have "wait for vertical refresh".. is that the same thing? My GPU was running at 80c and trying to get this nailed down. I put my fan to 100% working... didn't help anything
Corrected my first post, ment to upgrade my gpu, not update.. Already at newest version (non-beta)
Try opting into beta if there is one, perhaps? See if that helps any. If not, then I would suggest upgrading to a mid-range 6000 or 7000 series, high-end for either if you have some money.
Will do, but my question in whole was really that is upgrading my gpu enough or do I need to upgrade my cpu also... sorry for a third post on the same question...
Here's the issue with that: you can't just upgrade a CPU, it has to be compatible (e.g. running on the same socket.) Do you know which socket your motherboard has? Let me know and I'll find you a suitable upgrade if you want to, but that should be alright for your needs.

Let me try to ask it again: If I want to play rust smoothly and with a bit better graphics, is the gpu my only issue here, or is my cpu also a problem..?
How much FPS can I get with : -I7-4700MQ -Nvidia Geforce GTX770M 3go GDDR5 -16 go DDR3L -Windows 8 I didn't have my laptop yet I will receive it soon so I just want an average of the performance.

No, you will be fine just switching out the GPU, that CPU is still a pretty good one. If you want to upgrade on that socket you can, but it won't do you much good I don't think. Make sure you force rust to use the Nvidia GPU though!
I Have: -AMD Radeon 7970 -Intel i5-3570K -8GB Ram -Windows 7 64bit And i have around 150fps. But theres on problem with the game.. after i play it for +10 minutes, my screen shuts down and comes text which says "no cabel connected" And same time my sounds lag. But computer it self will stay on. And i have good FANS. Yesterday took all the dust out of the computer too. Any help? -thx

Those are two common issues it would seem.
Few days ago i completely removed my drivers, and re-installed them. My CPU is like 70-80C when playing rust.
Well, first check to see that all your drivers are updated, that might help.
Few days ago i completely removed my drivers, and re-installed them. My CPU is like 70-80C when playing rust.
That's within an acceptable range... Well, I'm not sure what the issue might be, but I would stick around and see if someone else can help you out.
I Meant GPU, not CPU. sorry. But i think my GPU is overheating too early on 70-80C becouse when the screen turns off, isnt the gpu which is holding it on?
That's within an acceptable range...
Well, do you force vertical sync?
You mean Vsync? I thought you can't use it on rust
You mean Vsync? I thought you can't use it on rust
You can't, but you should be able to force it on in your graphics control panel.
You mean AMD catalyst center? i've used that panel b4, but never couldnt find the vsync thing :O
You can't, but you should be able to force it on in your graphics control panel.

You mean AMD catalyst center? i've used that panel b4, but never couldnt find the vsync thing :O
Not really sure what it is, I only use Nvidia...
What if the Vsync thing aint helping me? what would be the next problem
Not really sure what it is, I only use Nvidia...

What if the Vsync thing aint helping me? what would be the next problem
Not entirely sure, I would say next would be to see if you can get your hands on a friend's graphics card, stick it in, and see if it has the same issue :v: if not, maybe your GPU is going, that would be my only other guess, graphics cards aren't really my expertise.
Jonny, we are getting a lot of players on our server talking about the same things, It seems the last patch has made everyones GPU temp up to 80+ I bought a desktop fan and placed it directly facing the open side of the PC and I can keep mine at about 64. It may not be the individuals GPU's this time.
My system is: i5 4670k 8GB DDR3 1600Mhz 7850 2GB Running Rust from a Crucial M4 SSD @ 1920x1080p. If I put Rust on 'fantastic' graphical pre-set it won't run very well at all. It'll start being really choppy and FPS will dip into the 40's. However if I go into graphics options and put render quality on about medium, it becomes much smoother to play. Now, based on my system I feel I should be able to run on max settings with perfectly smooth FPS. Is the game just poorly optimized at the moment? Cheers
You mean AMD catalyst center? i've used that panel b4, but never couldnt find the vsync thing :O
In case you still have not found it, it's at: Gaming - 3D Application Settings - Frame Rate Control - Wait for Vertical Refresh There you can turn it to ''Always on'' or to ''On, unless application specifies''
Thank god im not alone with this problem... </3
Jonny, we are getting a lot of players on our server talking about the same things, It seems the last patch has made everyones GPU temp up to 80+ I bought a desktop fan and placed it directly facing the open side of the PC and I can keep mine at about 64. Can I run it? Intel Core2 Quad CPU Q6600 @2.40Ghz 4.0GB RAM ATI Radeon HD 4800
Can I run it? Intel Core2 Quad CPU Q6600 @2.40Ghz 4.0GB RAM ATI Radeon HD 4800
should be.. on medium at least..maybe even high the problem is that your card is considered as legacy by AMD, so you have older drivers which may have some issues with game
Could i run this on my laptop with these specs? What graphics and how many FPS? CPU: Intel Core i7-3610QM 2.3 GHZ GPU: Nvidia GeForce GT 650M, 1 GB Ram: 8 GB HDD: 500 GB SATA
