you should run fine on medium/high..over 30 fps
make sure your nvidia GPU is forced for the game.
games dont run good with intel IGP's

You'll be fine maxing it, or if not it will play on high.

HAHA! Damn! How much you want for that old piece of tech? I might have to buy it off you and add it to my laptop collection.

I don't think so, that's a really low amount of RAM, and I am unsure about that GPU.

Thanks for the reply bud.
Windows 8.1 OS
Processor: AMD A4-5000 APU with Radeon HD Graphics
1.50 Ghz
Memory: 4GB
64-Bit operating system, x64 Based Processor
Graphics Card: AMD Radeon HD 8330
2048 MB of Graphic Memory
500 GB of Hard Drive space
Am I able to run Rust currently? I know I can run many of the newer games on full settings, but Rust seems a lot more needy in comparison to Saints Row IV.
Also, thank you to the people donating their time to helping others with the Rust requirements!

I don't think it will run at all, to be honest. First off, that's an entry level APU from AMD, and not a very good one, at that, plus it's mobile, lots less power than its desktop counterpart. Next, your memory: if you are running an integrated APU, that means that you are leeching from your system memory, IIRC. In other words, half of that memory is going to your integrated GPU and the rest is going to everything else, so basically you really only have 2 GB of RAM, nowhere near enough for Rust. Also that GPU is underpowered especially since it is integrated to your CPU. If you even do manage to get it running, I doubt it will be above the absolute lowest settings.
He does have a radeon hd8330 with 2 gb if you havent noticed. I think he should be ablw to play it perfectly finw.

no not even close to perfect, if even runs
it has similar performance as intel HD 4000

You didn't even read my post, did you? That's an INTEGRATED, ENTRY LEVEL GPU. And that 2GB is shared with his system RAM, so he is really only running 2 GB of RAM. There is no way he is playing on those specs.
Oh I'm sorry I didn't know it shared memory with his RAM
Oh I'm sorry I didn't know it shared memory with his RAM
That's how it works on a mobile APU: It's a hybrid CPU and GPU on one chip (iirc, the GPU is 40% of the APU's composition.) That being said, memory is never integrated on the chip like it is on a graphics card, it is shared with system memory. If it were a dedicated GPU however, it would run on its own memory. That's my understanding of how it works, at least.
[My second test (My laptop)
Windows 8
8GB RAM
AMD Radeon HD 8550G 1GB RAM
AMD A8-5550 CPU @2.1 GHz
750 GB SATA HDD
Result: Did not play very well, around 20 FPS and jittered a whole lot. Lowest settings did not improve performance.

I have this same exact laptop. What I did was lowered my render quality and it ran almost perfectly.
mine:
win7 home premium
Intel(R) Core(TM) i5 2500k @ 3.30
8 GB RAM
ASUS (Nvidia) GeForce GTX 660 Ti
200GB SSD, 500GB SATA, 1,5TB SATA
internet connection:
120 Mbps download
6 Mbps upload
Result: runs smooth on high settings with grass, no lags unless it's serverside
FPS: max: 56, min: 40
for ppl having issues with Nvidia cards:
with the latest cards(not sure about old ones) you can try optimizing with geforce exprience. let the GPU decide what vsync AA and other things should be

I couldn't get it to work, and I played around with a lot of settings and different resolutions, it just would not play nice with Rust. Then again, I haven't tested it ever since, maybe in a recent update it has become slightly more optimized, I will have to retest!
Windows 7
8 GB of DDR3
Some kind of AMD processor(Complete specs when I am home)
Radeon HD 5450(I know, not great)
I can't get more than 12-15 fps on the lowest settings with the grass turned off. Will take suggestions

If that is an integrated GPU (e.g. your processor is an APU,) then you can't expect very good performance. If not, I am not sure what it would be, since that card (assuming, again, it is a card,) is good enough to play the game
I know my computer should be able to run this game easily. For some reason it quits to the desktop right after the first splash screen (with the xx smilie face) comes up. Game won't run at all, but my Alienware can run any other 3d shooter out there....?
This is what http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/ gives me, says I pass the minimum but not recommended, would it be decent frames? around 30?

Medium at 60 or so, that's a mobile GPU and not the best, but it should be enough to play decently.
Post specs anyway, desktop or laptop?
[editline]22nd January 2014[/editline] Yeah it's a laptop, good to hear it'll be around 60, don't mind going to low settings if necessary, also, do you think Rust is worth it right now?
do you think Rust is worth it right now?
I can't answer that, it is very dependent on what you want out of it. The game is still being actively developed and it is VERY buggy at times, and there is a lot of exploitation, and though I haven't come across many hackers in my time, they are rather wide-spread. If that doesn't entice you, I say hold off for a couple months and then get it, but yes, it WILL be worth it, I can guarantee that.
Would I be able to run Rust? At all?

Iffy, that integrated GPU is not a very good one, but it just might handle it alright, I say medium should be fine, but I would ask for a second opinion, I have only tested with IHDG 3000.

I can run most things on decent settings (a billion times better than my desktop's ATI Radeon HD 5450) but there's no real way I can test Rust without blowing $20. Thanks for the insight, medium would be fine by me. I'll keep checking the thread and see if anyone else has an opinion!
