Dell Optiplex gx640 Intel(R) Pentium(R) D CPU 2.80Ghz 2.79Ghz 3.50 GB of Ram
not enough information, what is your GPU?
Well a more recent GPU should help, youshould be able to get to medium or high settings iwould think.
Well, I installed the Radeon 7730 2GB and it definately improved the fps. Runs fairly smooth now on medium setting 1280X1024 res. The down side is, now my mouse (microsoft wireless 5000) cursor is all erratic in the menu screens including the main 'Play Game' screen and if I bring up any of the inventory/crafting etc screens. Running around the world chasing pigs is fine. It's just the menu screens that act up. And if you want it to sound even stranger, it seems worse at sunrise and sunset. The only other game I have on my PC is Minecraft. I went in there and it seemed to do it a bit but no where near as bad as Rust. Any thoughts?
My current graphics card is a NVIDIA GeForce 450, I get 40 fps if I'm lucky at 720 otherwise it's pretty slow. Any suggestions for what graphics card I can upgrade to? Willing to pay around 200 for a new one. Windows 8 64-bit A8-5500 @ 3.2GHz Radeon HD 7560D 8GB DDR3 Do I have a chance at running this game at decent frames?

Maybe medium or high settings. I'd recommend a GTX 560 Ti or better. a GTX 760 isn't too spendy either, only like $250.
I can pick 20 games (most of which have better graphics than Rust does) and Rust will perform the worst out of all of them on at least 3 different rigs...not to mention it is making various GPU's (even pretty high-end ones) run an extra 20C hotter for no reason. Rust *might* run good on your rig, regardless of hardware...it might not, try it and see is all you can do. The game simply isn't optimized worth a damn right now, so reading all this is pointless.
is the gtx 760 nvidia? what manufacturer?
Yes, it is nvidia. As for manufacturer, that is up to you. My recommendation is EVGA or GIGABYTE, they are the most reliable, I have found.
Am i able to run the Game at max? Intel Core i5 3570k 4x 3,4 GHz 8 GB Ram Nvidia Geforce GTX 670
Am i able to run the Game at max? Intel Core i5 3570k 4x 3,4 GHz 8 GB Ram Nvidia Geforce GTX 670
Yeah, you should be just fine, that's a higher-end card from the 600 series which is still rather new.
My wireless mouse (microsoft wireless 5000) is acting up in the menu screens - 'Play Game' screen before you even start the game as well as the inventory and/or crafting menu screens - the cursor jumps all over the place. Does anyone have any idea if switching to a wired mouse will fix this?

It's as if the menu screens suddenly ramp up the mouse sensitivity 1000%. Mucho frustrating. Anyway, thanks for your input. Oh and me being a computer hardware tech for a living, you'd think I'd have a stinkin' wired mouse or 10 sitting in a drawer somewhere. A dozen old HD's, old video cards, memory sticks, a box of floppy's (what the hell is a floppy and why do I have some in my closet?) and an old racing wheel/pedals with 2 inches of dust on it. 1 wired mouse? Of course not. Derp!

I have four laptops, two desktops, eight video cards laying around, countless adapters and cables, a couple SATA and even IDE hard drives, some 3.5 floppies, random computer parts (including a dead laptop motherboard,) and lots of trash (I eat and drink around my machines, guilty as charged.) I work a lot with computer stuff as a hobby, but I am no professional :v: thanks for making my day though, letting me know I am not the only weirdo living like this~ My workspace is just cluttered to hell, I guess I gotta organize and sell my stuff, those video cards should be worth something (my oldest card is a 3dfx Voodoo 3, and newest I have laying around is a GeForce GTX 760.) [editline]8th February 2014[/editline] Oh and add two 5.25 floppies, but who the fuck uses those at ALL?

hi i got aan problem with the invalid gfx i got 2 cpu, desktop and laptop My desktop: wind 7 pro i7 3.4-3.9 (turbobust) 12gb ram gtx 650 2gb 240 harddrive (not finished? Asus 22' 1920x1080 (fantastic) no crash, runs really smooth My laptop: win 8 i7 4700MQ 2.4 4gb ram intel hd 4600 2gb gt 740m 2gb 15.6' 1366x768 (simple settings) i get the invalide gfx on console on both cpu's but the only 1 that ''crash'' is the laptop. i already tried disabling the gfx.all but the problem still happens if someone has some info about this pls post i will try to get my fps in the difrent cpu's to post later

So I figured I'd give an update as much as I feel like me posting here is spam, I'll make a new topic when all the stuff gets here and test the results and differences. Ordered a radeon HD 6670, some 1g sticks of ram and a 480w psu. That should kick it up a bit and only cost about 100 bucks all together. Opened up my case since I last had issues years ago to find I still have the ancient 250w power supply and incompatable memory sticks at different speeds. That WILL cause your system to run at unstable voltages and has already claimed a GT 8400 so don't be an idiot like me and hopefully someone will learn from my mistakes. FML and don't tarnish always rust lmao!!
45-60
Isnt that good? i mean i just saw some guy replied on my post ( It will lag :/)
Isnt that good? i mean i just saw some guy replied on my post ( It will lag :/)
Yeah I didn't notice that was a laptop. Still though, it should play just fine on low settings, I would imagine.
Specs: Processor: AMD FX-4100 Quad core @ 3.6Ghz RAM: 8GB DDR3 GPU: Radeon XFX HD 6870 Results(grass turned off and graphics option set to fastest): Get 30 fps max but often in the 20s and regularly falling into single digits and some major lag spots were screen goes black for a second or two. Also get a lot of rubberbanding and desync issues even when I pick the server with the lowest ping. Summary: Pretty disappointing when my specs exceed the 'recommended' specs. This is unplayable for me unless I enjoy getting stomped on by 99% of players out there due to lag.
On my laptop: 20+ fps @720p, grass.on false; env.clouds false (gave me massive fps boost), render quality 0, game settings fastest i5-3437U 4GB RAM intel HD4000 series (HD4600 prolly) On my desktop PC: 35+ fps @1080p, grass.on false; env.clouds false, render quality about 1/4, game settings fast good old C2D E8500 OC@4.0ghz 6GB DDR2 RAM HD4870 512mb GPU OCed Can play really well on my desktop PC and quite happy with the performance of my ultrabook and its integrated gpu.
