That's the plan. Do the 120 SSD for OS and maybe a couple of games and then get a 1TB HDD for everything else. I'm even contemplating a 240GB SSD if the price is right. This PC is strictly for gaming so a ton of storage really isn't necessary. Also.... The mobile interface on this site... Or lack thereof sucks. Editing posts is a PITA.
Yeah, it should play, but it's not gonna be pretty. It should play at around 45 at medium or so. [editline]14th February 2014[/editline] Good choice with the 4670k, I got one of those in my backup desktops. Overclocks comfortably to 4 GHz on a T4 cooler from Cooler Master, runs about 50-60 or so on heavy load. the 660 should be plenty as well, you should be able to max it no sweat there. As for the SSD I wouldn't recommend that for data storage, stick your OS on there and get a 750GB-1TB drive for data.
Looking back, two 1 TB drives would have been plenty :v: Anyways, if it is strictly for gaming, I highly recommend to do some overclocking, you won't regret it, the 4670k is excellent for overclocking even on a cheapo $30 heatsink and fan like I have.
Cool. Good to know. Thanks for the info!

I get 30 FPS with grass off and 0 render quality, I want to know if there's a way of increasing my performance overall without having to turn off extra commands such as grass.displacement . Is this possible? If so how?
Late 2013 iMac 3.1ghz i7 16g RAM NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M 512 MB yay? nay?
I'm questioning to buy a new laptop and I was wondering if this game would run? OS: Windows 8. Processor: AMD A10-5757M (2.5 GHz, 3.5GHz with TurboBoost, 4 MB L2 cache) Storage: 1TB HDD 5400 rpm. RAM: 6GB (12 maximum installable) Graphics: Integrated Radeon HD 8650G
Samsung Series 7 Gamer CPU: Intel Core i7 3630QM 2.4 GHz (3.5 GHz turboboost (almost always active on this laptop)) RAM: 16 GB DDR3 RAM GPU: GeForce GTX 675M 2GB Moniter: 1920x1080, 120Hz (yes 120 Hz on a built in laptop moniter) OS: Windows 8.1 HDD: 2x750GB At max settings runs at 60 FPS when in low render areas 30 FPS when rendering and 20 - 30 under heavy render with lots of player structures. (this is the same with grass on or off) ChromeBook Acer C720 (for the lolz) CPU: Intel Celeron 2955U 1.4 GHz (Haswell Mirco architechture) GPU: Intel HD Graphics RAM: 2GB DDR3L SDRAM Moniter: 1366x768 OS: ChromeOS and Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (ran on Ubuntu) SSD: 16Gb The game did start and got to the server selection screen on this Chromebook but it would not have been playable by any mean. It took over 5 minutes to even load the server selection screen.

Can i play Rust with these? iMac with: Intel Core i3 3.2 GHz RAM: 4GB RAM Graphics: ATI Radeon HD 5670 MAC Seagate Hard Drive: 1TB And my Macbook Air 11" Intel Core i7 RAM: 4GB RAM Graphics: Intel HD Graphics 5000 SSD: 128GB
And my Macbook Air 11" Intel Core i7 RAM: 4GB RAM Graphics: Intel HD Graphics 5000 SSD: 128GB
Probably not.
I'd say at least 60, maybe more. I would recommend setting VSync in your Nvidia Control Panel though, since it seems that not having it on really heats up higher-end cards.
enabling v-sync adds a delay to your mouse input due to how it works. that means everyone playing on a pvp server should disable vsync. only turn it on if you play on a pve server, or you dont care about handicapping yourself in fights. this applies to all games actually. also, all nvidia cards heat up when pushing out very much fps in any game, high end cards obviously suffer from this more :> the same should be the case with amd cards, maybe even worse since their coolers are worse, at least the stock cooler sucks on the newer amd cards.
Forgot to mention the Graphics Card Specs.. ATI Radeon HD 5670 MAC 512 GDDR3 Will this still give the same result? I also have this windows PC with the following specs: 1GB XFX Radeon HD 7770 Intel Pentium G850, Socket 1155, Dual Core, 2.90GHz LiteOn IHAS124-04 24x DVD±R Fractal Design Core 1000 500W Storm Silent LPJ19-25 MSI H61M-P31 (G3) Motherboard 4GB Corsair Value DDR3 PC3-10600 (1333) 500GB Seagate ST500DM002 Barracuda SATA 6Gb/s, 7200rpm Windows 7 64BIT Professional
CPU -- i5 3.2 quad GPU -- 550 ti w/ 1 gig gddr 5 mobo -- EVGA P55 (before you make fun, yeah, I know it's crap) HDD -- 500gig Seagate SSD -- 128 Phoenix RAM -- 8 gigs DDR 3 (2100), Corsair It's an older rig, but though I've never measured Rust's FPS, I know it hits at least 30 fps; I get no visible stutter or anything like that. I suspect around 40-50 when there's not too much action around or server lag. The the second, maybe. It will be rough if it can.
If i get 60 FPS on Minecraft with all the settings maxed out, will that be good enough or close enough for Rust?
Ok so I'm really not positive if I should post this here or make a new thread.. If it's in the wrong place then MODS please remove it. Anyways I have not pc gamed in awhile like 6-7 months so I've been out of the game for awhile. Now ever since I stopped gaming I have been following rust, it looks like a great game and I would love to play it but I'm on a budget. Now from what I have already read I will most likely need atleast a GPU with 2GB of vram, 8GB of ram, windows 7 or 8. Now as far as a CPU I haven't read much talk of that on this thread. So is rust a CPU intensive game or more of a GPU intensive game? Cause me personally I would like 60 FPS on medium to high settings, Without frame drops in big battles or when rendering in a lot of stuff. So basically any help would be appreciated, Thanks.
Windows 8 64-bit A8-5500 @ 3.2GHz Radeon HD 7560D 8GB DDR3 I have bought Rust on steam, and I am happy to report I am running the game at a smooth 30 FPS, never drops below 25, never goes higher than 40 though. This is very playable. My settings are on Fastest, 1024x768 resolution. grass.on false, and gfx.ssaa false.
If i get 60 FPS on Minecraft with all the settings maxed out, will that be good enough or close enough for Rust?
Uh, that's like comparing apples to oranges, friend. Give me your specs please. [editline]19th February 2014[/editline]
Ok so I'm really not positive if I should post this here or make a new thread.. It's less than $100 and won't bottleneck any cards to my knowledge (I ran one alongside a GTX 760 and never once had a single issue in any game.)
Windows 7/OpenSUSE Linux dualboot Phenom II X3 710@ stock 2,6GHz 4GB DDR3 AMD Radeon HD 5570 OEM card borrowed from a friend Runs pretty well on Windows, haven't benchmarked but well over 30 fps on medium settings and 1280x720 res On Linux it glitches out and just looks at the ceiling :/
@Johnnymad How about an athalon 750k and a amd r7 260?
@Johnnymad How about an athalon 750k and a amd r7 260?
Yeah, that should be fine. i don't know if it will max, but it should play above medium settings at a solid 60 fps. My guess is it will max though.
Alright I will build around a amd 760k, And a amd r7 260x. Thanks man It's nice to have a second opinion.
Alright I will build around a amd 760k, And a amd r7 260x. Thanks man It's nice to have a second opinion.
Sure thing. Also nice is that AMD socket FM2 boards are pretty damn cheap. For a board, I recommend this. It was what I used, and it is DAMN good build quality.
Wow, haha I'm trying to stay under 500$. So I have a nice board picked out for now. I will be upgrading later on in the year but for now this is a base.
Wow, haha I'm trying to stay under 500$. So I have a nice board picked out for now. I will be upgrading later on in the year but for now this is a base.
Well if your budget is only $500, you can't be asking for much, especially in the graphics department.
Yes, for now. I built a nice machine before I got out but now I'm back and am on a budget. But the r7 260x is a nice bang for buck. But I will upgrade in the future.
Good Day well here is mine: Windows 8 AMD 4300 Quad AMD 7700 1gb OC 4 gigs of 1333 mhz ram 23" Led Samsung pc screen( 1920x1080 ) 35-45 frames on Fantastic. no need to change graphics as the frames never drop below 35 fps.
My NEW Computer Specs, My Computer is currently installing Windows 7 (Professional 64-BIT) I'm not a fan of Windows 8! Will i be able to play Rust? And if i can, what fps will i get?
