the hitler shit is just to anger redditors when they called FP Nazi germany, it's mostly a joke
I got that part.
the insults are really just there to be a dildo
Mission accomplished, :)
also that's very kind of you, thank you.
Pleasure sir.
A wiki that only a few people can modify is stupid.
A wiki that only a few people can modify is stupid.
I don't think you understand.
The wiki isn't open to the public yet. I have now two new members who want to assist in the creation of articles and the bits and bobs.
The site isn't done yet, which is why you can't put your information in.
The Wood Barricade article is just a minor outline and, when the website is further progressed, will be edited and met with the amount of content that has been promised. I do agree that at this stage it is a bit lacking but it is the first few days of the site being online. BioRisk has been trying to get the site up and running for the past few days and hasn't had enough time to dedicate a lot of time to writing articles.
Hey, someone understands!
Hey, someone understands!
Personally, if you add more info (Not saying as in it's lacking, but more in-depth info, like tips & tricks people haven't found out yet) and make it more intuitive then a standard-ass Wiki, I'd support it.
Keep it up!
The current rust wiki lacks in my opinion, It doesn't give you a too in-depth feel. The articles are pretty basic. I plan to change that.
Could you be more specific possibly? There are already a few different Rust wikis I believe. The Wikia ones...are crap...obviously. I believe the PlayRustWiki.com, is the only acceptable one.
please everybody not so agressive :3
here is the "Rock of Friendship"
just look at the rock if you feel angry and it will be better :D

It is the only "acceptable" one. Yes it's decent, However it's motives and tactics I am not a fan of, the content on there is decent, however it needs more. It's not as informative as it could be.
Sorry about this sorta off topic post, but what font are you using in the OP, BioRisk?
[t]http://www.therustwiki.com/poop.png[/t]
what a shitty attitude you have
[editline]31st January 2014[/editline]
it doesn't matter how much of an asshole other people were
with an attitude like that no one's going to want to help you
I hate new game bandwagon wiki claim jumpers more then anything. If the current wiki is lacking ADD to it don't just make your own... GTFO with another wiki.
If he wants to make a wiki, let him make a wiki. Tell him it's a bad idea or whatever, but I think one warning will suffice. No need to take some sort of offense. It's just a wiki.

http://www.myfonts.com/WhatTheFont/ I used that on the rust logo, found a font "like" it, used the site on that font, found more about it.
Your defensiveness indicates that you have completely failed to read or understand the point we have been trying to make.
Here's what I want you to do. Prove it. Show us. Right now. You said this five days ago:
You said this four days ago:
Google's Cache scraped a copy of your article on Wood Barricade two days ago:
PlayRustWiki is down right now (hmmm), but Google scraped this copy of their article on Wood Barricade three days ago:
[t]http://i.imgur.com/GSiH1R7.png[/t]
The image is broken because it's a Google cache, and obviously the stylesheet has not loaded so it looks ugly. But the point here is that it has formatting, a table, and is written in a concise, organized way.
Let's recap: You have 12 articles written that are higher quality than the other wikis.
Based on the evidence above, I'm going to have to call you a liar. The way for you to better your image and the status of your project right now is to write some content.
I don't even care if it's kind of crappy, other people with better grammar and copyediting skills can help with that. Just actually put some text where your mouth is or fuck off.
Thank you for typing out my thoughts. Saved me a bit of time.

How is this helpful?
One legit suggestion is to make your external links open in a new window. Sending traffic away is never good for your own website. Looking good!

Thanks, will do!
Edited the links, Thanks!
Site is now "functional"

for the sticklers: It's up, and useable, but far from done.3
I don't see an issue with this, especially if OP doesn't plaster the entire site with those stupid video ads.
It looks pretty nice, can't wait to see some more development towards the website.
Hey, BioRisk, before you read the rest of this post, understand that I'm not trolling, I actually want to hear the answer and I'm not just setting you up for mockery.
It's great that there's something there, now, but why is the homepage of your wiki a WordPress blog? I know things are far from done, and that's fine, but is this a temporary measure or is this part of your design?
I was seriously confused when I was at the front page which looks great and went into the Wiki that looks like nothing's changed. Ditch the front page and work on the Wiki.

Yes, it's something that's easy for us to make a dynamic frontpage for, it's something that there's alot of themes we can work with. It's generally easier for us to use, as it has its own user system in. Yes it's temporary.
I was seriously confused when I was at the front page which looks great and went into the Wiki that looks like nothing's changed. Ditch the front page and work on the Wiki.
Thanks, It means the time I used to make the front page was not a waste. we are STILL Working on the wiki. (Can't put an engine in a car without the frame, and axels!)
It would be better to just theme the Wiki, seeing as the themes you have for your front page and the wiki are going to be vastly different without additional time spent on theming to get things to look the same. On top of that, you're trying to get WordPress and the Wiki to agree with each other, and that's just a level of blunt force I don't understand.
When I go to a Wiki page, I'm expecting lots of information. For instance, http://wiki.garrysmod.com/page/Main_Page has just what I need: a search bar for me to input text, and pages for me to read. Wikipedia doesn't have a lot going on in its style department either - it's just kind of there with text and stuff for my eyes. Which is good, because for a Wiki, I want to get my information as soon as possible without any extra BS.
Which brings me to a point about developing stuff for the web: With all the websites I make, I try to make everything as simple as possible for the end user. I want them to be able to get from Point A to Point B with as little clicks as possible, and you're creating an extra click and causing them to take extra time to get to the actual content, which isn't really warranted.
You really should ditch the front page and focus on content right now, because it's the thing that will bring people to your website in the first place. I'm saying this out of experience and examination of others.
I bring all this up because I feel like you're distracted and trying to push off writing for the Wiki, which is the absolute worst thing you could do. Writing is tough, and I think you're subconsciously creating obstacles for yourself.

This still isn't the final product OR solution. This is just a placeholder for the final product.
As for "distracting myself" I am not, I will have a wiki search bar (as you mentioned you'd like to see) on the main page. Again,
This isn't the final product.
While this may seem agressive, it's not.
EDIT: This is how simple your request was.
<form action="http://www.therustwiki.com/wiki/index.php" id="searchform">
<div id="simpleSearch">
<input name="search" placeholder="Search" title="Search The Rust Wiki" accesskey="f" id="searchInput" /> <button type="submit" name="button" title="Search the pages for this text" id="searchButton"><img src="http://www.therustwiki.com/wiki/skins/vector/images/search-ltr.png?303" alt="Search" width="12" height="13" /></button>
If you think it won't work, it does. www.TheRustWiki.com/test/
Again, not agressive, thanks for the advice. Implementing now!
[editline]2nd February 2014[/editline]
Also for theme matching, it's super simple, I'm using the colors Garry himself use, Like his "grey" is 1D1D1D. the theme is pretty simple to implement, just have to be simplistic, doesn't even have to be the same theme, just the color styles.
FYI, on Chrome on phone screens renders your front page like this:

The links don't show up at all, so you can't even click through to the wiki.

Or, remove the "useful links" and put them on a wiki page.
[editline]2nd February 2014[/editline]
also, 11 tabs close some out!
[editline]2nd February 2014[/editline]
also, site looks HELLA sexy on there
I love how you've kept your humbleness and optimism for so long, even though so many people have been bashing you since the beginning :P
It seems like the project is progressing steadily, and i really like the design of the wiki.
Keep up the good work man ;)
Also, I can't check right now because the links don't show up, but last time I looked the maps page listed three URLs to sites with Rust maps. They were plain text, not hyperlinks. I'm hoping that's an oversight.
And I'll use the tabs I want. :v:

Actually it was an oversight, I meant to link them, I am still thinking of how to go about the mobile "glitch" of the links not showing up. Need to get my hands on a phone..

bahahhahahahah. someone crashed the site by reloading it a billion times.
thanks tho, just gonna reset that timer.
