The wiki isn't open to the public yet. I have now two new members who want to assist in the creation of articles and the bits and bobs.

The site isn't done yet, which is why you can't put your information in.

It is the only "acceptable" one. Yes it's decent, However it's motives and tactics I am not a fan of, the content on there is decent, however it needs more. It's not as informative as it could be.

The image is broken because it's a Google cache, and obviously the stylesheet has not loaded so it looks ugly. But the point here is that it has formatting, a table, and is written in a concise, organized way.

It's great that there's something there, now, but why is the homepage of your [i]wiki[/i] a [I]WordPress blog[/I]? I know things are far from done, and that's fine, but is this a temporary measure or is this part of your design?

Yes, it's something that's easy for us to make a dynamic frontpage for, it's something that there's alot of themes we can work with. It's generally easier for us to use, as it has its own user system in. Yes it's temporary.

Thanks, It means the time I used to make the front page was not a waste. we are STILL Working on the wiki. (Can't put an engine in a car without the frame, and axels!)

It would be better to just theme the Wiki, seeing as the themes you have for your front page and the wiki are going to be vastly different without additional time spent on theming to get things to look the same. On top of that, you're trying to get WordPress and the Wiki to agree with each other, and that's just a level of blunt force I don't understand.

When I go to a Wiki page, I'm expecting lots of information. For instance, [url]http://wiki.garrysmod.com/page/Main_Page[/url] has just what I need: a search bar for me to input text, and pages for me to read. Wikipedia doesn't have a lot going on in its style department either - it's just kind of there with text and stuff for my eyes. Which is good, because for a Wiki, I want to get my information as soon as possible without any extra BS.

Which brings me to a point about developing stuff for the web: With all the websites I make, I try to make everything as simple as possible for the end user. I want them to be able to get from Point A to Point B with as little clicks as possible, and you're creating an extra click and causing them to take extra time to get to the actual content, which isn't really warranted.

You really should ditch the front page and focus on content right now, because it's the thing that will bring people to your website in the first place. I'm saying this out of experience and examination of others.

I bring all this up because I feel like you're distracted and trying to push off writing for the Wiki, which is the absolute worst thing you could do. Writing is tough, and I think you're subconsciously creating obstacles for yourself.

This still isn't the final product OR solution. This is just a placeholder for the final product.
As for "distracting myself" I am not, I will have a wiki search bar (as you mentioned you'd like to see) on the main page. Again,

Also for theme matching, it's super simple, I'm using the colors Garry himself use, Like his "grey" is 1D1D1D. the theme is pretty simple to implement, just have to be simplistic, doesn't even have to be the same theme, just the color styles.

Also, I can't check right now because the links don't show up, but last time I looked the maps page listed three URLs to sites with Rust maps. They were plain text, not hyperlinks. I'm hoping that's an oversight.

Actually it was an oversight, I meant to link them, I am still thinking of how to go about the mobile "glitch" of the links not showing up. Need to get my hands on a phone..
