My fiancee and I love the new Christmas stuff. Logged almost 300 hours into this game over the past 2 months. Top stuff, and my new favorite game.
I had no problem placing the fireplace. You just have to do it, where you have an open ceiling overhead, because It's a little bit taller than the standard wall.
To me this is the greatest update rolled out in a long time.
It's really been bothering me for years that you had to make a campfire on the floor in your base, and it's been killing me inside. The BBQ is great and all, but finally we have a proper indoor fireplace!

I got it I was trying to place it in too small of an area. I have one player on my server that loves buying game skins. Stop by my server sometime I have a low pop and friendly players. West Coast Rusted

The funniest thing is that my house have probably decayed. Cuz I didn't put any metalfrags to the TC to upkeep my sheetmetal doors. And I didn't have any opportunity to enter the game earlier. And now it's like 9 hrs after update. Which means 3 layers of stone have decayed. My house had like 2 or even 1. Upkeep system is really sick. And you can't play Rust now only if you have all the free time.
in short: i came.
The christmas event updates are seems so cool dammit. No I'm gonna waste all of my weekend making a comfy hut in the snowy biome.
Also big thanks for the wall hole plugs, because that was bothering me for a long time. I kind of always skipped metal tier because it felt it is easier to raid at night. Also easy to tell if someone is at home or not, cause you can see inside. Dunno if it fixes the other featurebug that caused the light from inside the house was visible from outside the house.
Animal AI pretty cool too, they feel more alive.

Whats the best way to reduce overall upkeep and decay to a 1/4?

I'd like to suggest a small change to splitting items where you can type in the number you want to split them to instead of dragging the bar around. it's not very needed but it would be convenient.

I've been through entire map and I checked all monuments. Blueprints are just RNG, 1-3% of drop, there is a chance you will never get it. It's not about farming resources, so I don't get your point.

If I loot the map, I will have enough components, scrap and blueprints to make what I want.
Yes, some things will take a week before you find the bp, but that's the reason rust only wipes monthly!

I got Workbench lv3, thousands of scrap, timed explosive charges and I can't find satchel charges. How does it make any sense? I jumped 1 tier/tech ahead skipping one in process.

If you have thousands of scrap, why do you pomplain?
You should take that scrap, put it in the workbench, and experiment everything of that tier workbench, it will only give you the bp you did not learned yet! Problem Solved!
they should balance out decay cause rn i think it uses up way to mcuh stone. if you are going to a rad town for 10mins by time your back ur base is alreay lost like 50 health which is way to much resources

Could you add a Santa NPC like you did on the Hallowheen event? A bloody Santa who wants to murder us all.
You broke the tuna can lights. They no longer have the little glow while off so you can find them when its dark.
same thing if you extinguis a candle in real life, if it's dark and you disable the last light source, you will have some problems with finding things back and walking arround without hurting yourself.
I don't mind the darkness, but it would be nice if your sight 'adjusted' to the darkness the longer you are outside.

I mean, people can already cheat vis Gamma adjustment on their video-cards, which seems to be a common thing considering I get killed at night a lot by people who seem to be able to see without any issues..
Precisely the reason i play on a custom server.
Doesn't stop me wishing to play official though, after they clean up their mess of course.
