I've played on and off since Legacy. Some of my most fond gaming memories come from playing Rust with my close friends. A lot of people focus on the toxicity of the community, but I've always thought that the lunacy of the players made the game what it is. Without the droves of villains running around acting like the psychos they are, the game just wouldn't be the same. Rust is the most visceral experience I've had in gaming. Nothing else has come close. To the continued success. Embrace the haters, they make the game into the horror social experiment that it is.
I dissagree. Once they removed the 18+ restriction of rust, little kids came, screaming in the mic, spamming chat with words I will not repeat when they get raided, ddos servers once they don't get what they want, grouping up because they suck at playing the game how it was meant to play. The way people act is just not right in any way today. A player that wishes your family to die of cancer once you downed them after they shoot you is not right in any way, game or not. Some things you just can not do, and in rust it has become a standard, everybody let it happen, and with that the community gets devided more and more.
You're right, the way they act isn't civil-- but it doesn't change my love of the game. In fact it has no bearing on my experience at all. I've had hoards of squeakers screaming racial obscenities outside my door for hours. I've had alt-Right pepe man-child memers camp me while reciting Donald Trump speeches. I've played over 1k hours and I feel like I've experienced every kind of verbal abuse possible by these people. It still doesn't change my love for the game. These people exist. It's not realistic to think that it shouldn't exist. It's YOUR job to find a community server that has strict rules on verbal abuse, not the games job to remove these people from YOUR experience.
Totally agree. The same things with me,about social life and raids xD
Gary so fucking happy for face punch studios Gmod turned out fantastic and I have high hopes for this game I love rust and can’t wait to be apart of its future as a full game, HELK IS THE BOMB TOO
hope you where talking to others about community? I don't have problems right now since I run my own servers
It would be great if they can deal a little more with the issue of DDOS attacks, I know it was spoken thousands of times but anyway, now that it leaves early access, it would be great to have some extra protection. Also I commented on this exploit several times in reddit and nobody gave me an answer or something, the problem is that if you stand on the roof of a base and look down, often you disconnect from the server and come back, you can see through the roof, directly to the floor below, making the raid a bit easier, I hope someone reads this and tries to fix it. I like the idea that finally leave early access tho ♥ https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/1011/05aebb2c-a9dd-46b8-902d-ee0bbcdec5c4/j9yhUOS.png garryplz
It's against playrust reddit rules to post exploits so i just messaged devs about it. Alistair responded but it's still not fixed. There should be a simple not allowing to upgrade to stone/metal/armor if there's anything below the foundation. It takes 2 minutes for a group of 4 to break stone foundation and recover hidden loot. Your exploit is in the video also. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W0UbS8EH6hQ
Thank you Helk, Garry and ALL Facepunch team! You changed my life with this game (dunno if it was for better or not ) but really thank you for thousands of hours playing Rust. Keep the good work and we won't leave you!!! Please don't leave us
Given that 2/8 is the second Thursday of the month, should we assume the 2nd Thursday of each month will be when the patch is released going forward? Or will the 1st Thursday of the month be when the patch is released each month and 2/8 is just the official declaration? Thanks and congrats!
they did not say that updates will be moved, they only say that they will leave early acces on 08-02-2018
Very big thanks to whole Facepunch team! Game goes better and better all of time! Game leaves on EA and that was awesome news +1200hours on behind and many many hours on the way... This is almost the way of life!
Hey Garry. I've known Rust from its earliest versions, its simply ripe with potential. Making Rust out of early Access and into Release 1.0 is amazing. The optimizations are refined and Rust is definitely ready for it. Still some more to go, this has a AAA title game potential. I appreciate your time on Rust. I hope to see you on the Island!
Been my TOP game for along time! 1000 hours and still loving it
Love the Game
So happy for you guys!
It's not ready by a long shot. This is yet again more hype accompanied by a price hike. They know the future quality of sustainability of this game is limited so they're kicking it out the door quickly to make room Ruin milking. The road map has been a laughable joke through the entire development of this game. Hell in 2016 they were too lazy to even edit the road map. It wasn't even updated or changed after the XP fiasco. Rust is dust.
what is this "Ruin" you speak of?
Thanks to all the Rust team, Facepunch more generaly, I spend more that 1100 hours on Rust, and I dont regret. It is an amazing game, with hours of fun, rage and stress, and I love as much as I hate that piece of sh*t community that im part of really happy to see Rust growing, thanks to the team, You changed my life into something better, giving me times, fun and most importantly friends made on your masterpiece. Thank you.
We wuv you Gary!
Really great to see Rust take the next step forward. Keep it up Facepunch! Garry, you rock!
I thought that leaving early access meant now only monthly updates??? YET I am still getting weekly updates and it is starting to piss me off.... I barely have time to get home from work and update the server SO I sighed a sigh of relief knowing that they would be monthly now.... OH OK GUESS AGAIN................ another broken promise by developers. QUOTE: Rust officially leaves early access today. What does that mean? Well, Garry summed it up pretty well the other day, but here’s the skinny: Updates will now come out monthly instead of weekly (so next update after today will be March 1st). The staging branch is now a standalone game in your steam library The price will be increasing from $19.99 to $34.99 Here at Rustafied, we still plan on bringing you details of the latest additions to the staging branch on a weekly basis. We’ll also continue doing update streams each Thursday (stay tuned for specific times) and keep expanding our guides.
old thread m8 They promised to release one big update per month. All other client updates are hotfixes which MUST be released.
