FTR I know: Play Rust on Linux? LOOK HERE Full detailed log of Rust throwing a SIGABRT signal to process when joining a server. https://pastebin.com/SzY74BcQ Long story shortest possible, I can load up the game and get to the main menu screens, but joining servers will just crash as it begins to load up the last of the preloads of prefabs and such. See Pastebin log for fuller details. -- I can load up Workshop and view some of the workshop items, but not all of them, because they either fail to render properly or not show at all, as see in following screenshots; https://steamuserimages-a.akamaihd.net/ugc/998017573091171016/5C4FD152DD36000A1A44FFE54D168928C2BAAB66/ https://steamuserimages-a.akamaihd.net/ugc/998017573091175691/A7DE7F951397CA127D623A71C86A711F8C32A223/ just a few things to point out as they do show up when trying to load the game. [...] Vulkan PSO: cache data not found [path=/tmp/Facepunch Studios LTD/Rust/vulkan_pso_cache.bin] [...] WARNING: Shader Unsupported: 'Hidden/TerrainEngine/Splatmap/Diffuse-AddPass' - Pass 'Meta' has no vertex shader WARNING: Shader Unsupported: 'Hidden/TerrainEngine/Splatmap/Diffuse-AddPass' - Pass 'Meta' has no vertex shader # While warnings are generally harmless, they should be treaded as errors. Vulkan error VK_ERROR_OUT_OF_DATE_KHR (-1000001004) file: ./Runtime/GfxDevice/vulkan/VKSwapChain.cpp, line: 641 [...] removing unsupported shaders from the game may resolve half the issues, whether if that's what you Rust devs put in there or because of Unity Engine by design, either way it's just a suggestion.
