UPDATE: I tried the last thing. Changing computers. Then it worked! How is that possible? Is it somehow localy stored issues?

I have tried to uninstall the game via steam. I can see it leaves some files behind, so i'm trying to uninstall again and wipe the whole folder.

Its actually Cata, profile here : http://steamcommunity.com/id/cata1gur but I did not try connecting to other servers so other servs may have the problem too

Just to be safe, i tried it twice, and it still failed. for me. I found a log file, that it made - maybe it can help? output_log.txt

I tried uninstalling on computer 1, and doing all the usual. Didnt work. Switching computers however made me able to log in. As in it doesnt seem to be serverwise but rather local, right?

i just saw SOLUTION TO CRASHING AT RECEIVING DATA...REINSTALL STEAM AND RUS.. and i tried it.. now it works for me.. TL;DR Reinstall steam, then reinstall rust.

If it didnt take forever to uninstall steam that would be good

You can re-install steam with not deleting your games, search google "deeting steam without deleting games"

Just install steam again - no need to remove it first

On viking republic 2x i died and crashed, my steam also closed. When i get to receiving data my steam closes and my rust crashes everytime.

Was on a 1.5 modded server, was killed and game/steam also crashes at receiving data. Can go to another server but not the one I was killed on. Steam Community

Hi, I am facing the same problem too. Crashed once I got killed, and cannot reconnect ever. Always crash at "Loading server". Pls help

Reinstalling steam is a bad solution.. I have 600GB of games on there. No way I could do that.

U dont need to reinstall all your game, that would be an idiotic choice...reinstall only the steam. (check google for ``reinstall steam without deleting games``) There is like files that needs to be fixed...
