Yeah, collision groups do not seem to affect how the entity collides with player clips at all. It also has a custom ShouldCollide check with the appropriate flag if that's any particular information.

Force entity to collide with player clips
ShouldCollide will break physics if the two results don't match generally. I really think it should fail noisly and revert to some fallback because it will completely cripple a physics thread till the scrds instance is restarted.
How much faster is doing ents findalongray compared to doing 10+ traces adding entities previously hit an ignore list? (a penetrating trace)?
Is "corrected collision bounds after SetModelScale server->client" the issue where you end up sliding on certain objects that you've scaled or given a custom box for? You know when this is gonna be on the dev branch?
the public release doesn't even get updated anymore. I wouldn't say that justifies anything but you could just remove the fan list.
Mumble. While the quality of Discord is impressive, I don't like the idea of not being able to actually run your own server.
It's still a fun game and it does have a lot of content. It's fairly nice of them to actually start supporting Tribes again considering it was a poor business investment.

It's a fun game, great environments and great weapon selection/variety, but some of the enemies can be really really bullet spongey.
