so i took the chart that showed all the dlc, looked at it and then fixed it to tell you what to buy if you want everything (barring the playstation store exclusive)

Honestly, for a digital version, you have two options. Standard + Season pass or Deluxe. Ubisoft handles physical editions badly, so just get standard + season pass there. Not hard.

This is the part that kills me. The white hat pack is the one that looks the most interesting to me, but the only way to get it is to digital deluxe/deluxe.
Why doesn't a season pass have all the DLCs of the season? Ridiculous.
Why should I pick the skidrow edition over the razor1911 edition?
Because it isn't EXTRA content. It's LOCKED content
This is something that bothers me everytime I see it. Personally I don't try to defend these business practices but I feel like people go way overboard with it.
It's extra content, it doesn't matter if this content has been "ripped" out of the finished product or been developed after the final release. It's still content that you can purchase in order to get more stuff in your game. DLC being locked on a disc is a pretty easy way for developers to allow their customers to get access the content upon purchase by simply unlocking it, instead of downloading it. Only because you bought a disc with some data on it, doesn't mean that all the data belongs to you. The developer can still decided what you get for your money.
I do agree that it is a pretty horrible practice and I dislike it a lot. I prefer full-fledged expansions instead of small and fast dlc that's not that interesting or doesn't add any replay value. There are no real guidelines for the amount of content that needs to be in the game or in a dlc.
the hype for this game took a massive decline huh.
Only on Facepunch and mynintendonews (because they are butthurt about the Wii U version being delayed)
Which is right for me? Fuck off with DLC, that's my answer.
I'll just wait until all-dlc-pack 20$ steam sale or humble bundle
honestly if its on humble bundle that slider isn't going to ubisoft
in this economy, selling games cheaper means more money because you get more sales, most people will not ever purchase a game over 60$, many wouldn't even buy it over 50$, and many also will not buy it over 40$.
This gutting of games is purely in the desire for money, and its ironic, because steam makes an insane amount of money on steam sales, showing how much better cheaper is.
Now, I'm not saying games should be cheap! AAA should be $40 to $60 dollars, but not with extra content that makes the full game up to $70, $80, even $90 dollars. Even if it's minor shit. Unless it's cosmetic items, which, who cares, but if its actually bits of missions in the game that's pretty fucked up, especially if its a huge chunk.

Because sony paid for playstation exclusive dlc?
Exclusive content, timed content, etc etc is literally the worst thing to happen to the game industry and makes everything just shit.
also you arent hurting ubisoft if you dont buy it so stop trying to go on a crusade, the only person you are hurting is the people who developed it, and it isnt like they chose to make day one dlc

I'm also hurting myself by spending money, something I don't have, on something extra, which should have been in the game anyways.

More sales does not mean more profit. Selling a game for too low is as bad as selling a game for too much. The hard part is finding that delicate balance.

developers on steam actually make a much larger profit when steam sales happen
of'c 75% off plus is likely bad for them but its very easy to understand how beneficial to everyone it is. 20$ off a 60$ game is a huge thing for everyone. It usually leads to exponentially more profits.

Sales have a psychological effect to compel people to buy them. And most of those developers also had expenses in the thousands as opposed to millions that Watch_Dogs has, so of course they're going to make profit.

I do wish publishers understood this. It's a sad thing that they don't, because it probably hurts everyone a little but.
The fact they're actually straight up cutting content to instead sell it as extras is fucking disgusting to me.
Bethesda handled the whole thing way better. Not that the skyrim DLCs are especially good, but basically, they had the decency to wait a couple months if not more before flat out saying "here's all the cut content and/or stuff we came up with after the game was released and couldn't add in the base game", showing said content and then making expansions and DLC based on it.

But it's not exclusive? It's also in the digital deluxe edition.
You would think that the Dedsec edition would come with the Dedsec DLC pack...

Seriously though I don't know if I'll even want to play this game, but if I do I'm not buying it on release because I'm sick of all that preorder day-one bullshit.
The sad thing is a pirated version of the game would probably have all the DLCs. Thus again giving customers the finger.
i've never seen any game with this many editions, what the hell is going on with this game

if you're really hurting due to spending 60 bucks then you've got bigger problems than dlc

60$ isn't going to hurt that much but for a luxery item its better to not blow too much money on it when I could be saving instead, especially when I have to pay extra just to get the rest of the game.

if 'rest of the game' is bonus content that has no baring on the main game, i guess you're right
I love how people overreact when someone includes some dlc skins as a bonus for preordering and say shit like OH NO THEY ARE LOCKING HALF OF THE GAME!!!!!! When that content usually has zero bearing on the actual game.
Seriously, never stop overreacting, it's funnier than cable.
Have they announced the delay of the PC version yet?
