I was responding to the post above. They probably left LAN out to make it harder to play a pirated copy.
I found it to be well worth it, if only for the widescreen support. The gameplay itself honestly haven't aged a day, if you ask me. Still a top-tier RTS.
I'm disappointed there isn't that many ages.
But that's got nothing to do with the remake.

Because the definition of LAN and WAN are pretty arbitrary, just having "Multiplayer" that covers both is easier for the average end user. Of course when you have a situation where you have a bunch of computers and none of them can connect to Steam for whatever reason (and so are in off-line mode) then yeah, a dedicated server browser/direct connection mode would be nice.

No they have empire earth, which was also great, but not what I was looking for.
I want an Age of Mythology remake with all the fixins now too
