Every thread about Notch nowadays says more about the people hating him than it does about Notch, Everyone gets that the FP collective has a huge problem with Notch but when I come to read a thread I would much rather hear some constructive posts than people spewing hate out of their asses regardless of whether or not I think it's justified. Imo it's a cool idea and I think the generator idea is very well thought out, but that Notch is cutting corners by not using textures and putting it under the whole "I'm being heaps crazy, look at me guys no textures" idea that probably gets a bit of publicity under people who don't really get the implications of it. that and monthly fees seems a pretty badly thought out method of distribution.
Holy shit, dude, Noctis. I really wish a modern mix of Noctis and this other space sim where you could go to space stations, mine, fight and shit. I sadly don't remember its name :(
Shores of Hazeron?
The name is awful "Have you heard about that new Mojang's game called Zero Multplied by Zero One C? Or was it Zero Multiplied by Ten C?"
zero x ten c

I don't like the whole having to write programs for the CPU to do stuff, it sounds way too complicated. Shall see how it goes.
rofl how much of a tool do you have to be to even think this is a good idea? it sounds fucking bad and next-level boring, and he's highly overcommitting by saying there should be multiplayer where all this shit is emulated blah blah blah(did I mention that CPU idea is bad and dumb?) nobody wants to sit and program in some made up asm language in a 3d2d world(oh! and it's in space! space!!!!) e: by the way. this is going to be NOTHING like noctis. this is notch. (except; maybe if he throws out his dumb baby's-first-CPU idea and just decides to try to clone noctis and turn a profit off it)
he didn't do what? didn't make the game? because it did get made. it passed 1.0; new features were added. afaik that's all that was promised. If people don't like how the game ended up then they can sure well criticize the product as it exists, but they shouldn't act like mojang royally screwed them over somehow.
no he really didn't finish the game lol he just tacked 1.0 and a shit ending on it and called it done(minecraft isn't even a real game)
I don't like the whole having to write programs for the CPU to do stuff, it sounds way too complicated. Shall see how it goes.
I'm willing to bet that maybe 1 or 2 percent of all the 0x10[sup]c[/sup] players will personally code anything. Everyone else will either be too scared of it/not smart enough to use it or copy code other people posted/sold to them.
zero x ten c
Zero Times Ten to the Speed of Light. It's not hard to figure out the name of this.
Zero Times Ten to the Speed of Light. It's not hard to figure out the name of this.
In this case it's actually a hexadecimal C, or 12. So, it's 16 to the 12th power, which is the year it's set in.
I find it funny that people in the space age program in ASSEMBLER.

This does not look good. Its like what happened to minecraft. Just changing his mind on a whim. This is not how a good game is made. I understand that the game is in its early stages but he shouldn't be making announcements this early if he doesn't even know what he''s doing. This is especially risky to someone who plans on buying the alpha.
Sounds for me like a kind of crash report: "Error writing line at 0x10c" :v:

The good part is that it gets him closer to his fans but the bad part is that everything he says gets analyzed, taken as a fact and used against him whenever he changes anything
I wonder if the mainframe still has some sort of standard or at least simplified way of creating the program. I don't think everyone can write in assembly.

Its bad when you are at the stage when people who buy your game bought it expecting something and then you change it. It means that you will get a lot of pissed off consumers and a broken game.
Well, the terms of use for Minecraft did say that they were paying for the game in its current state when they bought it
It sounds like a cool game. We will see what happens when it comes out.

You get what you paid for. Paying money for a product, and then complaining when they add extras that you didn't want isn't a solid standpoint. I paid the alpha price (what, $10?) and I got the game as it was. No beds, no cake, one colour of wool; no nether etc. Had Notch left the game at that point, at that price, no one would have complained. Simple game, small price. He then adds more features, the nether, beds, enchanting, and increases the price to better fit the additional time spent developing these extras, and the beta state of the game. This makes sense. Maybe not a great business model, but it worked (clearly, since KSP has adopted a similaar system) Had he charged for the updates which no one apparently wanted. You'd have a right to be pissed; he didn't. He continued to add features for customers who, by now paid half the games price for nothing.
"Excuse me sir, would you like a free sample?" "God no, URGH I DIDN'T ASK FOR THIS"

[B] When you buy a game, you don't expect DLC.
When I buy an alpha I do. There is a difference from a finished game and an alpha updating especially when notch promises things he will put into the game. People who bought the game bought it because they believed notch was going to put in the things he said he was going to put in. Also how is it a free sample when we paid for it?
I actualy like the idea of an emulated computer running your ship, would be fun to run UNIX on it and see how well that works
Sounds way too ambitious to work.
I find myself hoping this will be SOMETHING like Noctis IV..And it might, in the way that Notch never seems to finish anything he works on... (In case no-one gets it, Noctis V has been in development for 13 years now, I believe.)
Notch needs to give more details. I mean, will there be land-based combat? How will PvP work? How will the players health work? Will it be in first, second,or thirdperson view? I know it's in very early development but there's just so many questions unanswered.
Notch needs to hire someone for PR and marketing. I can't think of a worse name for game
I've got a link Notch might like. http://hci.stanford.edu/research/prototyping/ IF he flushes out several ideas then just picking one, it might be slower in finishing the alpha build, but the final result would be more solid. Textures, no textures, try both really.
You guys need to actually look for answers before you decide he hasn't said or done something. He has said the game will be in first person. https://twitter.com/#!/notch/status/187451691040382976 He has tried with and without textures and is experimenting to see what looks the best. (Texture was just slapped on to see how it looks) [Img_thumb]http://0x10c.com/screenshots/003.png[/Img_thumb] [Img_thumb]http://0x10c.com/screenshots/004.png[/Img_thumb]
So is he using a super computer to get those frames or is the game really that easy to run?
I wonder how the compiler errors will be: Error 2015 at line 0xF: find out more info on the error by buying three consecutive monthly subscriptions or maybe more.

It's Minecraft styled? Are you fucking kidding me? IMO he needs to ditch that art style for this game, simply because these 'computers' are just going to turn out to be red-stone re-skinned with some interactive blocks for expressions or something.
