DayZ Standalone footage shows axing virtual zombies is as tiring as axing real ones

I'm really hoping that can opener and compass aren't setting a precedent for the devteam taking "realistic" and turning it into "early SCUMM game level of annoying steps to do before you can do a thing"

diggin on how they opted for a 18th century compass instead of a modern one that's not made out of brass or whatever

i don't even really think a compass would matter in dayz, because you could just look at the sun and figure out where you're going, or you'd already have a meta understanding of the map after playing for a while.
I sort of hope this video serves a double purpose of filtering out deathmatching minges who just shoot on sight by making them not want to play because they were too stupid to read the spoiler at the begining.
I mean yeah it has some of the same problems that the previous mod versions had, but the zombie animations and attacks look tons better, the weapon use seems incredibly superior, and the first person animations and sounds are a pretty good improvement.
All that is only on TOP of the fact that they've redone the entire inventory system to actually work and modeled interiors to almost EVERY building in Chernarus.
It's a mod being developed by a relatively small crew that's still in the pre-public alpha phase and people are already crying about how they aren't going to ever play dayz again because it isn't perfectly polished and complete.
I guess all I can really say to that is 'good, fuck off.'
