After putting 1000 hours into DAO and the massive disappointment of DA2, this better be good!
I can only hope it will go back to the roots of DAO.
Roots of Origins? Mind-boggling!
Lets hope Bioware learned from Dragon Age 2 and Mass Effect 3's lackluster gameplay and storytelling. I'm going to be pissed if EA forces multiplayer into this.
Hopefully it will have better writing
It won't.
I want this to be good, I REALLY want this to be good. But I am very doubtful.
Oh God, is she still writing the story? Please bring in another writer.
What? Frostbite 2 engine? Very weird
Heresy!
Frostbite 2'll be cool if they use it right; DA2 looked like a shitty cartoon. Who knows, maybe they'll improve the animations to be BF3 quality. Maybe.
I'm betting on this having Multiplayer since EA said they'd stop making singleplayer only games. Please Bioware, I just want to play as the Warden again. Hawke I could care less about I just want to finish my story.
I thought David Gaider was the Dragon Age writer?? He even wrote a couple of books, and they rocked.
It wasn't really fixed. But I agree that it was great game despite it's ending.
Actually it was pretty crap, even not counting the ending. [editline]17th September 2012[/editline] Seriously prime example of how low the RPG genre has dropped: ME3 being considered good.

[editline]17th September 2012[/editline] Seriously prime example of how low the RPG genre has dropped: ME3 being considered good.
That's a little overdramatic, wouldn't you say? It may not have been a strong RPG, but it was arguably a good game and, quite honestly, I'd say that applies to the entire series. I've never considered the Mass Effect series to be a 'true' RPG. The developers themselves created the series with the intention of making a TPS/RPG hybrid, and I'd say, if we're just talking about gameplay mechanics, Mass Effect 3 was the most successful combination of those two elements. The RPG genre really hasn't dropped, in my opinion, but the focus has shifted. We still have amazing RPG's like Witcher 2, but we also have a TON of games from different genres using RPG elements now.
I'm...actually kinda looking forward to this. I loved DA:O and DA2 wasn't as good but it wasn't an abomination either. It was a fairly average game that was compared heavily to the original and thus shat upon. Hopefully they do learn from their mistakes for the 3rd.
What? Frostbite 2 engine? Very weird
No mods.
For the love of god, keep Hamburger Helper out of this.
That nickname still pisses me off. [editline]17th September 2012[/editline] Seriously prime example of how low the RPG genre has dropped: ME3 being considered good.
ME3 is a ARPG with the RPG being on the lean side.
I wouldn't mind Hawke's return, I loved the voice acting and lines he/she got and the whole character arc but if they could implement with Origins' strengths in 3 I'm all for it. Just don't want another ME3 ending.
a great story with choices that matter
Cute.
Yeah I'll have my doubts about this for now
Lets hope Bioware learned from Dragon Age 2 and Mass Effect 3's lackluster gameplay and storytelling. I'm going to be pissed if EA forces multiplayer into this.
Didn't EA recently say something about no longer publishing games that don't have multiplayer? All I know is that if EA tries to keep milking this then it seems that they've forgotten that the last game in the series that this one is riding on was a complete fucking wreck.
Am I the only one that kind of enjoyed DA2? I mean, I do play on consoles so....
The ending will involve merging darkspawn with everyone and having sex with Alistar
It won't.
Didn't they fire her?
Great news. I certainly do hope they keep the combat as fun as DA2
I really hope this will be good. I've lost a bit of respect for Bioware ever since DA2 and ME3. I played the first 2 acts of Da2 and gave up because It lost its momentum. All I can do is cross my fingers I suppose.
If they go back to the gameplay of DA:O then I would buy it in a heartbeat.
tbh i really liked DA2's gameplay, it was faster than DAO's ridiculously slow combat and retarded slow mo swings but i liked DAO's writing/locations way better i mean kirkwall got boring as fk and the area around it was just as uninteresting
Didn't they fire her?
Nope
Didn't the combat in DA2 pretty much play itself?
No. I'm god damn sick of seeing this shit. DA2 was a bad game, it had shit writing, a stupid story, horrible characters, and it looked like crap. The one thing DA2 didn't do wrong was the combat. I will admit it was too easy and the whole wave spawning thing was retarded, but beyond that the combat is exactly the fucking same as DAO, just with [del]better[/del] less stilted animations (jumpy as fuck though) and the ability to move around in combat, rather than telling Alistair to go somewhere and hoping he'll eventually follow your order. [editline]18th September 2012[/editline]
tbh i really liked DA2's gameplay, it was faster than DAO's ridiculously slow combat and retarded slow mo swings but i liked DAO's writing/locations way better i mean kirkwall got boring as fk and the area around it was just as uninteresting
DA2's combat was just DAO's combat but faster. DA2 also had some improvements I hope they keep, like upgrading your abilities. I hated wasting talent points in DAO just to unlock a stronger version of a spell I already had, just let me upgrade the spell and not clutter my fucking display. There was also the uh.. um... well evenif that was the only one it was a good change and they should keep it.
I feel the only thing I liked about DA2 was the ending, which I felt was actually really cool. I don't know, maybe it's just me, but I just love how everything just goes to shit. I really just want to see where they go with the story in the third one.
