i really think people should just get over the fact that some people do like Modern UI and some don't
Well the problem is that they left out the feature which brings back the classic UI in an attempt to force people to use the new one. You can switch the classic start back on with some dodge third party tweak. I mean you could turn XP's start menu back into the classic menu and you could change it back to the classic grey theme, in Vista you could turn Aero off and you could also turn off that useless and annoying UAC thing.
Then it's not for you, calm your tits.
"People hate windows aight because they've never used it" 'but I have used it, and I still hate it' "THEN ITS NOT FOR YOU JESUS CHRIST CALM DOWN"
I lol'd. I knew it.
I feel like I'm in the minority of people who want Microsoft to rewrite Windows from the ground up. We don't need support for programs from Windows 95, and anyone who does can dualboot. As long as they can come up with some sort of legacy application launcher, I'm sure people would be fine with it. Where it stands now, you can only optimize Windows so much, and I feel like nothing much changed between 7 and 8. I don't know much about programming, but I can only assume that building every version of Windows on top of the last one doesn't do much for efficiency, which is why Ubuntu can run on a potato, but Windows 8 struggles on a laptop from the early 2000s. And with Microsoft taking such a huge rebranding step, it seems to make sense to cut ties with the past and start fresh.
oblivion and vampire the masquerade are broken in that they dont work windows 8 is broken because you personally dont like it despite the fact that its bug free and functions the way it was designed to please understand the difference just because i dont like the homescreen on iphones doesnt mean that iphones are broken
bug free? let me just call my ex ms dev friends and say windows 8 is 'bug free'.
That button is the most annoying motherfucker to ever be put on a keyboard, and pretty much every gamer I know has ripped both of them off. I certainly have. Nothing quite grinds my gears more than going for the crouch button only to stab the windows key, alt-tabbing out of a game that crashes if alt-tabbed, leaving the last 45 minutes of progress lost to the ether because of a stupidly placed shortcut key that few use.
Or you could have your hands in the right position? My left pinkie hovers over shift and left control all the time, I have no idea how you could possibly miss that and press Start. scrub . Jokes aside, I've got to say apart from the fucking horrendous UI, Windows 8 is great. I actually forget that the computer loads up the OS because compared to XP and 7, it literally boots up within a couple seconds. As well as that ,searching takes milliseconds, and the task manager doesn't look like ass anymore. Not sure about XBOX MUSIC and all the other crap shit they've shoved in, but you can always just override what program opens up mp3's and videos anyway.
Good, Hope this makes Microsoft think twice about putting a tacked on touchscreen interface on the next windows platform and goes back to having the windows menu. The new sleek desktop can stay though, its very well optimized .
If Windows 8 gave the options to choose between start menus in a first party fashion it would be just fine. Personally I love windows 8 with Start 8, but I understand why people don't like it.
I paid 30€ for Windows 8, and I don't regret it. While I like start menu from 7 more, I haven't had any problems with Metro UI. I haven't used Metro UI much tho.
