Tactical Intervention’s days are numbered, last mission on June 10

June 10th is my birthday. :suicide:
I have no sympathy for the devs; Why did he go so far out of his way to get some shitty company to release it, I mean, I've seen better press by near scam level F2P MMOs. Back when they were testing it, there were like, three periods where you could play it, starting at completely arbitrary times and ending soon after, then the game would disappear for an entire year or so, with no work to show for it. Then, apparently it got released.
It was a half assed game riding only on the fact that the creator of CS was involved. It never got better, and no one knew it existed, how did they not put it on some real release channels, I mean, shit, it's a source game, I know you have problems with Valve, but you ruined it for yourself by choosing the worst possible way to get your game out.

They were pretty lax with the microtransaction and renting system. They gave you a bunch of credit, you can buy your weapons for one day, and microtranactions were directed at cosmetics/tools only.
Maybe more people would play it if more people were aware it even still existed
I mean, a free Steam weekend would've helped a ton
WHAT THE ABSOLUTE FUCK?!? I've been wanting to play this game for so long, but didn't even know it was out yet, now I hear it's shutting down :(
Quick, flood the servers with new players, maybe they will cancell the shutdown

It looks like a really boring and fucked up sequel to CS. It's no wonder valve shitcanned the idea of CS2 (with Minh heading the whole thing) and made CSS and CSGO instead.
Wow, that heads up display is absolutely fucking disgusting.

Everything else was awful.
His publisher really failed, they should have gotten in on steam. It stayed off of the radar of many people where it was released. Also, its kinda difficult for Gooseman as he wants to try different things which the cs community is generally very hostile to change. Each cs game seems to attract a new audience, and is difficult for people to transfer over, and tactical intervention is a bigger stretch than even going from 1.6 to GO.
I'm going to re-download this game so I can save the files and see if somebody can port models from it.

What engine does it run on anyway?
Honestly I liked the game a lot but the f2p model was atrocious, it was one of those "you have to rent weapons for 24 hours" models
It was a fun game at it's core (the highway mission), but A LOT of things were terribly unbalanced/plainly broken (Dogs)
TL;DR
There was potential but it was wasted

Source. Everything is kept in these weird archive files, though.

Alright now I'm curious, can you show me the files?

I would, but the installer's crashed for 20 minutes or so. Lemme try to fix it.
Edit: First I had to install OGPlanet, then I had to install the Tactical Intervention extractor, and now I'm installing Tactical Intervention itself.

So the game uses ".fpx" archives, and I don't think any other program in existence uses those. I don't know where to upload the files, since Dropbox only has 2 GB, Box.net has 5 GB, and MediaFire will only let me upload files up to 200 MB each.
Have you tried uploading to MEGA? You know since you get 50GBs free?

How big is it in total? And how much are the individual archives?

Registering. Where it says "Your name", do I put my full name or a username?
Edit: Seemed vague at first...

Possibly your name.
I got to play Tactical Intervention right before the game came out as part of an open beta free-to-play test run.
As someone said earlier on in the thread, TI has a lot of interesting ideas that could've turned into a swell game. But the end result is just really poorly put together. From the level up system, to poor weapon spread, to the game's dogs, to a really stupid hostage rescue system - there's just so many awful decisions that take away from the game. Combined with all the installation crap you need to go through, I didn't really find it worth the time.
I had no idea this game even came out..fuck.
Alright, I'm uploading the installer for the game itself. Hopefully it should be able to install without OGPlanet on your computer.
Considering they made it fucking hard as shit to get into, no wonder. I remember being so excited but constant news about betas only to specific people and then spending so much time getting keys and accounts approved and all that shit, they deserve to fail for doing such a shit job with their community.
The game was pretty boring except for the highway mission.
And that's the greatest shit ever.
Make a whole game based around it and people will actually enjoy it.
controls were too wonky, it needs a different engine
I seriously didn't even know it was out. Holy shit, I thought they were still developing it...
