60fps breaks some stuff. Sliding down certain ladders makes you fall through the floor, elevators have a weird chance of killing you and your jumps are slightly shorter. It's certainly doable, it's just not... recommended.
I know I'm not everyone but I use 60fps and I've never had a single issue except for getting stuck at bonfires which forces me to reset the game but that's not really a big deal, just annoying.
so what are all the community fixes for this game? is 60fps doable?
DSFix (Unlocks internal resolution without problems, 60FPS, graphical options) http://blog.metaclassofnil.com/?p=343 DSMFix (Makes KB&M playable, but use a gamepad if you have one http://steamcommunity.com/app/211420/discussions/0/864979455329386779/ Turn off Anti Aliasing in the in-game options before installing DSFix, then just put it in your games directory and edit the config file to suit your computer. As for 60fps, like the above poster said it breaks a few things sometimes. Nothing it breaks isn't fixable by quitting out of the game and launching it again, however there's a toggle hotkey to turn the FPS limiter on and off so you don't need to worry about this so long as you remember to use it. It's worth it for the 60fps smoothness.
Why is a controller recommended so much? Since I'm not really a fan of controllers.
My brother found a way around this, had to get a proxy account, fake account and then gift it to myself to get it to work apparently. Hopefully the souls are dark.
Why is a controller recommended so much? Since I'm not really a fan of controllers.
The game originally was a console exclusive so the controls are designed around and work really well with a controller. That and the default controls for the PC are awful, and the mouse acceleration is really weird.
willing to trade away most of the origin versions of the games from the origin humble bundle for dark souls. all origin keys are unused minus dead space 3.
Why is a controller recommended so much? Since I'm not really a fan of controllers.
A controller tends to be easier when games are designed to have a lot of combinations of buttons to do different things e.g. DS has block, light attack, heavy attack, kick, roll, sprint which have different combinations with each other and with movement keys and such. Translating that to a keyboard/mouse is a fuss and its generally harder to remember which keys are what compared to a console.
