How many people are working on this at the moment ? If a team of developers counting in the hundreds already has difficulties releasing a full blown AAA games where every promise delivers, I have a hard time seeing how an indie team of seemingly way less individuals can pull off the same results if not better. I haven't followed on this whole thing at all so sorry if I'm misinformed but they seem to really promise a LOT on this game.
they have literally hundreds of people working on it
Oh okay then I thought it was one of those projects that one bloke came up with and he got support because at some point he had his hands on a game people liked.
Why is it that people just want to see this game fail so badly? You can't have the best space sim game of all time if you don't aim for it.

It is also advertised as "The Savior of PC Gaming'' and all that nonsense. I funded this game so that I could see another wave of space related games and I can firmly say that it payed off quite quickly. At this point I can't even feel hyped for Star Citizen because it still has a long way to go before it's finished and there's no way it will live up to all expectations. [editline]23rd February 2014[/editline] Also, my laptop has no chance of running it smoothly.
I tried purchasing a digital package on the site and my bank froze my card cause they thought it was suspicious :(
Everytime I see threads like this, I feel bad for people who over hype the shit out of games. All I am looking for in Star Citizen is an updated Freelancer with interiors and places to land my ship on. And I'm sure Chris can easily get that done. If people are hyping this up to be a super savior of PC gaming, that's their fault. I've never been over hyped for a game before and have been always pleased by the results. Even DNF and ACM wasn't too bad in my eyes. Not the best, but not horrible.
ACM wasn't too bad in my eyes.
To be fair, ACM didn't get hate for not living up to hype, it got hate for outright lying to people with pre-release material and the whole Randy Pitchford thing.
To be fair, ACM didn't get hate for not living up to hype, it got hate for outright lying to people with pre-release material and the whole Randy Pitchford thing.
But the lying made the hype. I thought it'd be a more serious, small team of marines trying to survive. Like each marine had a specialty. But we got some silly game that fucks with the canon even more. Multiplayer was fun while it was alive. [editline]23rd February 2014[/editline] But from what I've seen about this game and what they said they plan, it doesn't seem like anything too difficult to achieve. Freelancer already showed us a universe that has an economy and factions. And fun as it is, SWG showed us ship battles with ship interiors and planets to visit. So for me, put those ideas together and I'll be content with this game.
I wish they would just make the game. I know they're doing that, but they keep announcing new stretch goals so often it's starting to get comedic.
If only Elite had gotten half as much as these guys.
i'm securing my enjoyment in this game by looking at absolutely nothing about it until postrelease
