Microsoft please stop giving 343N heart attacks
maybe they're trying to find out how many die hard halo fans there are on PC. i'm apparently not one of them, cause there's no way i'm shelling out for some piss-stain toilet seat bullshit. i don't understand why they just don't drop three on PC and be done with it, the visuals still hold up incredibly seven years later, i'll never understand the thought process.
Yes, Microshit, this is EXACTLY what the PC community wants. I give up.
Right, because it's unreasonable to not want to have to pay $300 for a machine that plays games when you already have a machine that plays games, does so much more, and isn't as limited as the other machine.
Not unreasonable, it's just not gonna happen, as you can see.
I thought I'd stopped caring but this is actually just bumfuck stupid. ~No one wants a top down.~

Or just get a preowned 360 for dirt cheap, it's not ~1080p 60fps~ but if you're that desperate to play the games they're already available.
What's worse: the idea that someone at Microsoft is stupid enough to believe that this is truly what the PC base wants
They know what the PC base truly wants, they're just playing the waiting game to get the Pc base that has a desire to play this to buy an Xbox.
It's stunning how little 343 knows about Halo. They really ruined the franchise. Despite this being a mockery of the large demand for Halo PC, it's just an altogether horrible mashup of money milking.
And when it sells poorly, they claim that PC gamers doesn't want Halo.
Fucking prometheans in halo 2 fuck off with that shit
Fucking prometheans in halo 2 fuck off with that shit
What I gathered from the video you don't encounter Prometheans until after the Halo 2 segment of the game. Those missions you're just fighting Covies trying to contact the forerunners. The missions with the Prometheus take place A few years later.
Ok good. I was on a train so I could only read the thread.
I agree, but the mustard race don't.
Why would I buy an Xbox if I'd just use it to play halo and if I'd have no other games for it? Even worse when I already have a PS3 and a PC. AND have been a PS kind of guy since forever...
And better yet... Why would I play a FPS game on a console when it could be released on PC and be infinite times better? Say whatever you want, but FPS games on consoles are whack compared to PC.
This is all just so the Xbox keeps its precious gems in their place.
I guess it is cool that they un-cut the kestrel :T
I agree, but the mustard race don't.
Maybe because I don't like using a controller to play FPSes? I can't stand Borderlands on my PS3 but I played it for 5 hours straight yesterday on my PC.
Also Halo has a shitton more modding potential than pretty much any other console exclusive title that comes to mind.

i used to play the shit out of halo games 7 or 8 years ago, yet now that ive gotten more into PC gaming rather than console gaming, im fucking horrible at aiming with a controller and am way better with a mouse

I JUST WANT THE FUCKING ORIGINAL HALO/HALO 3 DAMNIT!
Halo 1 is on the PC. Hell, it's a pretty good port, and with some community plugins like Open Sauce and HAC2, it feels like it was made for the PC... except for the animation framerate thing but I'm told that's haaard-coded into the engine. Like, it does that to animations on import.

Halo CE for the PC is actually a really bad port since it has more graphical glitches and barely any options in settings.
And when it sells poorly, they claim that PC gamers doesn't want Halo.
I wasn't aware that Microsoft became Ubisoft.
When the fuck did this happen?
That's the impression people were getting to their release of Spartan Assault on the PC. tbh, idk if it holds much weight but it sounds like some shit they'd do

IDK about you, I was able to run the game on a late 90s potato just fine, on minimum. SP and MP.
Halo Spartan Strike is a twin-stick shooter and spiritual successor to Spartan Assault.
I don't have twin sticks on my computer fuck off
Twin stick games with a mouse is eeegh.
It sucks with touch controls too since you can't even fucking see what you're shooting because of your finger.
"Port Halo 3?"....."Nah, just make another top down"
I know I'm past beating the dead horse but holy shit...
Different studio who is in charge of the mobile games.

idk about your PC but the one i'd play a halo game on is certainly mostly not portable

I wasn't referring to that I was talking about how energy shields are missing proper textures, a ton of things are missing the correct shaders and other things like that. I can't remember but I also remember the options menu lacking in a lot of things like FOV.
FOV sliders weren't standard back then. Hell, the only reason they are now is because devs love putting out PC games with sickeningly low default FOVs, which is also a relatively recent trend starting around the time ports started getting "ok" again.
Also, those weren't glitches. They were the result of fumbling with the assets behind the scenes. I agree it's all bad, but there's plenty of fan fixes out for all of those things that restore the teleporter shader, the shield shaders, the AR cubemap, and Keyes's (much better) xbox texture... but they're all separate and scattered everywhere and tough to find. Yeah, there's a lot of shit wrong with the PC version but I wouldn't call it a bad port because some shaders got broken. A bad port is when you can't play unless you have a controller plugged in. A bad port is when a game with QTEs still have the game controller symbols when you're using a keyboard.
Plus we now have HAC2 and Open Sauce that not only fix pretty much all of HCE/PC's non-graphical issues, but add more features like medals in MP and proper hud scaling and an editable FOV. Hell, Open Sauce allows you to edit the origins of all the guns on the fly. Also Open Sauce can allow Halo 1 to look fucking fantastic. On par with Halo 3 in some areas. Wait till you see CMT's Silent Cartographer Evolved. Just fucking wait.
Halo's a simple enough game to stand on its own even if its assets got rekt by some weird porting complications or some shit that we never heard about. Halo 2, however. Fucking Yeesh. Funny enough, the visuals were done right, and everything ELSE was fucked up. Like, they were well on their way to making a good port and then just stopped.
