Jesus. What a bunch of immature little shits.
I also would have preferred Zoroark but I don't get why people have to flip shit over not having Mewtwo.
snake better make it in
That's an ...interesting dumb ratio? Looking at people's complaints on this on this forum and outside, If due to people who think this means no Mewtwo, no it doesn't. Brawl planned for both Mewtwo and Lucario - Roy and Marth with what's in the Data, probably just didn't make it due to time constraints. If moveset left as in Melee the clone argument is quite the stretch as well considering it's really only the Neutral B, we have Toon Link anyway. If it's the common hatred due to him often being put together with the furry community, eh that's laughable to me. Otherwise if some people just don't like the character for whatever reason, maybe by looks or unfun to play as in Brawl I can respect that at least, but I doubt that's the biggest drive for the hate he gets.
People talk about those scrapped files as though they mean something for the game, but they don't necessarily. It would've been silly to not remove Dr. Mario and i doubt they would've even taken steps to implement him, personally I believe those files (with the exception of Dixie Kong and Tetra) were just leftovers from melee.

Though the scrapped ones are empty, two of them directly reference Mewtwo and Roy (but not the others removed), so they were the closest to making it in. In addition, Mewtwo has an empty file which seems to at one point have been his classic mode portrait for 1-P mode. Before you say the above is speculation, the files are empty but do have names, hence how they were able to determine what the "scrapped" characters were and which songs were planned to be included (such as a Beatmania remix on Shadow Moses Island and a Yoshi's Cookie song) without actually having the contents on hand.
At what point is this game going to become its own installment rather than what is starting to appear like a Wii U Brawl with a few extra characters? Every Smash has had drastic differences in roster, gameplay, etc. but with this one I'm seeing more of a mod than anything.
Next character confirmed will probably be mewtwo.
I don't see why we can't have both.
Not Squirtle 0/10
One orange dinosaur. We're not asking miracles here, dammit!
Charizard would be p cool
If they don't have Wario I will not buy a Wii U. I'll just stick with Brawl which will be superiour because Wario.
If they don't have Wario I will not buy a Wii U. I'll just stick with Brawl which will be superiour because Wario.
were you going to buy a Wii U just for the new Smash Bros?
goddamnit they shouldve put pikachu in there
...What if that mouse was in, and they officially made Pikaman (named after a moveset swap to Ganondorf) as well?
were you going to buy a Wii U just for the new Smash Bros?
No. I've been considering it for Wind Waker HD, but I'd need other games. If they don't have Wario I'll just try an find an old GameCube copy of Wind Waker and play it in my Wii. Or buy Wario Ware, whatever comes first.
If they don't have Wario I will not buy a Wii U. I'll just stick with Brawl which will be superiour because Wario.
I'm like 100% absolutely sure wario will be in ssb4, he's a unique newcomer and there is no reason at all to not include him
were you going to buy a Wii U just for the new Smash Bros?
I will. Nothing on the Wii U interests me other than the next Smash Bros.
I will. Nothing on the Wii U interests me other than the next Smash Bros.
The Wonderful 101 interests me too, although I wouldn't buy a Wii U for just that, I will certainly pick that game up when Smash Bros 4 finally gets released.
I'm like 100% absolutely sure wario will be in ssb4, he's a unique newcomer and there is no reason at all to not include him
Hopefully they give him a moveset which wasn't completely pulled out of nowhere (and a weird, erratic movement which has absolutely no relevance to any of his games. Even Super Mario Land 3: Wario Land had more fluid animation than he was given in Brawl) and actually give it relevance to Wario Land/World games besides his UpB. (His forward smash's animation is technically based on Wario Land, but doesn't behave anywhere close to how it did in the games) Even Fox's moveset manages to have more basis in his games than Wario, a character whose games are primarily 2D platformers or minigames. It's especially obnoxious because an old Famitsu article stated that Sakurai originally had Wario as the Mario Melee clone instead of Dr. Mario (which is partly why Dr. Mario is much more powerful than Mario), but went with Doc because he thought that Wario had too much potential. . .

Wario would always get his friends to make stuff for the game, then he would throw it all together as quickly and cheaply as possible and take all the credit; so when his epitomization shows up in a game it has professional quality resources (model, textures, sounds, ect) but seems to have been animated over the span of a lunchbreak by a single sleep-deprived intern.

I genuinely hate it. Imagine if they gave Mario a Tennis racket and all of his moves revolved around that. Imagine if Kirby had no arms and legs and could only move by tilting the controller. Imagine if Donkey Kong played the bongos for every single move, or Pikachu was controlled by microphone. This is pretty much the equivalent of what they did to Wario. They had so much so work with. SO GODDAMN MUCH. Wario Land 2 is to me, one of the best and most unique platformers ever made. They had an opportunity to adapt that classic game and depict Wario as the big, brutish, lazy but motivated by money and uncharacteristically acrobatic anti-hero that he is in the Wario Land games and give him a moveset to fit that persona, and instead they made him a crazy crack addict who farts and moves like he was put together in 5 minutes. It just pisses me off, and i really, really hope that they change him as much as possible in SSB4.

Noone gives two shit about Mario Tennis or Kirby Tilt and Tumble.
Except Wario is best known for the wario ware games.
The members of the Wario Land quadrilogy for the Game Boy lineage are 4 of the 6 best-selling Wario games ever and were hugely popular, with the first Wario Land being the best-selling: selling more copies than the two best-selling WarioWare games (Smooth Moves and Touched) combined.
