Is that supposed to support or refute his point? Looks like the only advantage of the Titan is that it has a lower TDP. EDIT: and more RAM.
Neither tbh, I just felt like someone should provide some statistics instead of just hearsay.
GeForce is consumer-grade GPU's, the rendering cards are under the QuadroFX line. They're clearly marketing this towards gamers / nutcases.
Why'd you say "gamers" twice here?
The GTX 690 is more powerful while also being cheaper than this. I'm not sure why someone would buy this if you actually consider the price it's going for. This uses a single GPU chip though (unlike the GTX690 which uses 2 on a single PCB) so that's fairly interesting.
One word: Microstuttering.
I've always wanted my own mission control at my desk
I wounder if this will be a good upgrade from my gtx 460...
Jesus christ. With that powah you could simulate the Matrix. Now to wait until it's price drops down to $400. Unfortunately it might take a few years.
One word: Microstuttering.
Even as newer cards get better and better with microstutter, I can't even feel it on my 580 SLI system, it is a concern for people and any MutliGPU related stutter... well... won't happen.
single gpu is always superior.
Well reliability wise, yes.
I wonder of this card could run Watch_Dogs, i mean the original demo had to be ran on 3x GTX 690's.
i mean the original demo had to be ran on 3x GTX 690's.
Which is impossible, btw. A Titan is about 70-80% of a GTX690 right now.
Which is impossible, btw. A Titan is about 70-80% of a GTX690 right now.
Well, thats gonna be interesting on how they will deal with that. Tech demo was bloody awesome..
I'll just buy 3 of these and I won't need to pay heating bills for the rest of my life
Well, thats gonna be interesting on how they will deal with that. Tech demo was bloody awesome..
I say it's impossible because current drivers can only account for four GPU's. A 690 is two GPU's, so 3x 690's would be six GPU's which can't be in SLI. I think you mean they ran it on three 680's which is likely, though I didn't think the tech demo was needing that kind of power. [editline]19th February 2013[/editline]
I'll just buy 3 of these and I won't need to pay heating bills for the rest of my life
If you don't want to pay for heating, buy some 7970's or some GTX480's. Titan's have big fans to be quiet, not because they are super hot.
I wonder of this card could run Watch_Dogs, i mean the original demo had to be ran on 3x GTX 690's.
Probably running on a 680, they just optimised for it specifically, I imagine it was only running at 30fps.
I wonder of this card could run Watch_Dogs, i mean the original demo had to be ran on 3x GTX 690's.
Can you source that or do you mean "it looked so good it must've been ran on 3 GTX 690s"
[sub]look at that SLI bridge[/sub]
by the beard of zeus
I do need a GPU Upgrade
Wonder if it would be worth trading a 690 for a titan in the future, have to see how it works out in future games and drivers.
Can you source that or do you mean "it looked so good it must've been ran on 3 GTX 690s"
Yeah, I remember stories of GTX 680-s instead but I couldn't find jackshit anymore.
guys just going to say that kepler actually runs much cooler than fermi the joke about burning down your house with nvidia is 3 card generations old, the 480 did this not the 680
I have a GTX 460 and I can run Metro 2033 and Crysis 3 at the Max settings but according to everyone else YOU GOTTA HAVE 900000 SUPER POWER EXTRAVAGANZA CARD THAT COST MORE THAN THE GOD DAMN COMPUTER ITSELF. [editline]19th February 2013[/editline] Also am I the only one who has never had heating with Nvidia cards?
I guess i'll wait another year then.
of course some jerk off is going to HAVE to try and overclock it
of course some jerk off is going to HAVE to try and overclock it
So what? There is almost most power to be utilized in GPU's. Especially with programs like EVGA precision. Many PC gamers love to push their hardware to the limit.
as if that's going to make any difference if it can already run the most powerful game maxed at 60fps
Yea, and what framerate. My dual 580's barely do "Max" at 1080p at about 45-50fps average.
of course some jerk off is going to HAVE to try and overclock it
If you're referring to the companies that will resell the card with their own custom coolers then yes, of course that's going to happen.
If you're referring to the companies that will resell the card with their own custom coolers then yes, of course that's going to happen.
Manu's aren't allowed to modify the titan. Only the clocks and voltages I beleive.
Shame hardly any games or programs utilise Cuda beyond stupid insignificant crap, because that's the only reason I would ever consider buying this card.
