The Titan has more... power in theory, but it's not faster than a 690 in most scenarios that the card is being marketed for, which is gaming.
how do you know when benchmarks haven't been released yet from the specs alone it looks like it would outperform the 690 at any resolution at or over 1600p and probably go even or do better at 1080p, especially with anti-aliasing applied the amazing thing about this is that it's a single workstation gpu that you can actually play games on, so you get the best of both worlds and the ability to run up to 4 of them in tandem [editline]a[/editline] holy fuck I just realized with quad SLI you have 10752 CUDA cores vs 6144 with 690 SLI and I'm just sitting here with a 570 that has 4.5% of that jesus christ
[sub]look at that SLI bridge[/sub]
That must weigh a fucking ton.
But can it run Cr... oh wait, even my old 260 could do that
It can even run Crysis @60fps @3840x2160, and is the first single card to be able to do so. The real question is can it run ICEMod at the same resolution without catching fire. [editline]20th February 2013[/editline]
790 will definitely be more powerful.
Sure, but you won't be seeing those until June, and tax return season is right now. $$$.

But drivers do improve things, we might see it match a 690 in the coming months.

I have a 9800gt
fuck preview benchmarks
Preview benches from chinese forums, not from Nvidia or anything. And it shows it between the 680 and 690.
That must weigh a fucking ton.
RIP PCIe connectors
Preview benches from chinese forums, not from Nvidia or anything. And it shows it between the 680 and 690.
o even at 2560x1600 or higher?
RIP PCIe connectors
you clearly never seen the Asus Mars 2, a 3 slot pcie card this thing has 2 120mm fans if i remember correctly and requires 3 8pin to power it Here is a picture, it requires 2 hands to hold

It's running as my dedicated physx card atm.
I have that card. It's running as my dedicated physx card atm.
almost funny [editline]20th February 2013[/editline]
o even at 2560x1600 or higher?
I think they were running 2560x1600 and 7680x1080
almost funny
I won it at PAX last year.
almost funny [editline]20th February 2013[/editline] I think they were running 2560x1600 and 7680x1080
I can't believe the 6GB of VRAM didn't help it pull ahead
Probably a power hog if you ask me.
Probably a power hog if you ask me.
No, it draws less power than than the 600 series.
Probably a power hog if you ask me.
225 watts at stock on load
http://cdn3.wccftech.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/02/GeForce-GTX-Titan_31-635x523.jpg [SUB]look at that SLI bridge[/SUB]
Motherboard expansion headers are sooooo over-rated amirite? :v:
link
What you can't type anandtech in a browser tab? That explains a lot.
Hey, a benchmark!
An actual benchmark http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/NVIDIA/GeForce_GTX_Titan_SLI/
One word: Microstuttering.
This is so underrated, probably because most people never hav done dual gpu
An actual benchmark http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/NVIDIA/GeForce_GTX_Titan_SLI/
I hope they update that along with updated drivers. How is it even possible to have performance go way down when you add another card.
I hope they update that along with updated drivers. How is it even possible to have performance go way down when you add another card.
Because the drivers are no where near finalized. You can expect between 70-100% scaling when they are, per normal set ups now.
I hope they update that along with updated drivers. How is it even possible to have performance go way down when you add another card.
Because that's almost always how it works if you don't feed it enough data. It's likely the engine can't work with that much load. Even if the CPU can keep up. Only a few games scale well, F1 2012, Metro 2033, Crysis usually, games like that. BF3 is good for up to about 2 cards right now, doesn't scale well to 3. I mean plenty of it is the drivers at this point, the kepler has been out for over a year now I believe, and the titan isn't even released.
only problem is a) it only comes with pre-built computers as of late and b) it's probably gonna cost more than the 690 at launch (~$1,000) edit: so it costs as much as the launch price for the 690, has better performance in some games, and can be bought individually i just need them to be sold on newegg
Now for some rich bastard to quad-SLI it.
nuclear incident.
