Well shit. :( I don't have any money.
I was looking forward to playing this through on pc as soon as I got my computer fixed.
Gifted Deus Ex GOTY a few times and bought Missing Link for myself
Hooray for Steam
I'd be really excited if I didn't already have all of the Deus Exs worth buying

So I bought Missing Link through this. Fun DLC so far :v:
I hate to go so off-topic, but could you tell me what that UI is that?

For Steam? PixelVision.
Much appreciated.
So, I bought it. Then I remembered my shitty GPU, so I can't actually play it.
Bollocks.

PM me your address and I'll send you one of my old 8800GT's. Can't do overnight shipping though and only in the USA.

Cool. I bought Invisible War. It's the only one I never played.
I know it's supposed to be the 'shittiest' one, but I enjoyed the original Deus EX and HR so much, that I don't really care if it's not as great. It's bound to still be fun, right? :v:
Currently replaying Deus EX again. Finished HR + DLC a few days ago.
It took me maybe a hour to get into the game. The beginning was kind of rough (at least if I recall right) but once I got into it everything was just heaven.
Really is one of the best games I've ever played to date.
I guess I should give it more of a chance. I just don't really like third person shooters on PC, they feel hard to control for me. Could be my PC's performance.

It's first person with third person covers
For how long did you play it, exactly?

Poorly phrased, the third person parts were difficult but everything was pretty hard to control, and I blame that on my computer. It's kind of an unreliable laptop and I've had trouble updating graphics drivers and whatnot. Now that I've got it on steam I'll play it when I get an upgrade.
BUY. EVERYTHING.
The first one starts off pretty bad, but once you get through the Liberty Island part, it gets much, much better. Invisible War isn't nearly as bad people make it out to be, in fact it's very, very fun (though it was my first DX game, so it just might be my nostalgia filter kicking in). And Human Revolution is simply freaking amazing, best game of 2011 in my opinion. Heard that Missing Link was good, although pricey for a DLC, so you should probably get this as well.
sales on deus ex series and obviously whitout a cent on my card :smith:
£5 is still too much for me to care for this game.
why
because it's not the original game? yeah how dare they try and innovate. HR is great and you should feel bad
I loved the original Deus Ex, and I loved Human Revolution. I also liked Invisible War, though it lacked the "Deus Ex" feel the other 2 have.
Just got the DLC as I had completely forgot to buy it around 2 months ago when I beat HR. They're awesome games and you should buy them if you don't have them.
Today's my birthday and I'm suppose to get a gift card soon. Buying the pack right away.
Just finished downloading DE:HR
Hyped.

i guess you could say the error text is the missing link to finding a solution
Does it take high grade specs to run this game?
Just bought it without thinking first.

Not really. Judging by your steam, you can handle Skyrim, so I don't see why DE won run. It's very well optimised.
If only the original Deus Ex ran on my laptop, I would be enjoying it with the rest of you. It's not that my laptop is bad; I got a really high-end one with a 540. I run it, and an error box comes up saying "Steam not found". I tried to run it in compatibility mode earlier this year, and I suppose that was what killed it. Oh well; I'll find out a way to make it compatible sometime soon.

I completed the original Deus Ex on a netbook
It should work on any laptop

I updated my post with my problem. I suppose I can find a fresh version of the game somewhere else to see if it works there.
I don't see why everyone hate Invisible War
Sure it strayed away from the original Deus Ex concept, but I still loved it and I still think it one of the best Deus Ex games.

Because it's not as good as the first game. The gamers expected DX1 with better graphics, and they got a consolised game with small maps and a dumb-as-fuck universal ammo system. It's still a great game.
